Raymond Hampel was born in Hollywood, California on October 7, 1983. He grew up in the San Gabriel Valley in the city of Alhambra. In 1998 he started a punk band called "Reason Why" with long time friends Richard Salazar, and Gordon Hall. On his way to punk rock stardom, he decided to leave the band to join the United States Navy. He served on the USS Abraham Lincoln stationed in Everett Washington in the Reactor Department as a Machinist Mate from May 2008 - May 2012. After his enlistment he went back home and started his career in film.
