Her father "Joe" was born and raised in Cincinnati, Ohio. Joe came to Southern California permanently in 1982 from Cincinnati. They met in Los Angeles and married on July 5, 2003 in Brentwood in West L.A.

- Primarily of German, and also Irish, descent from each side of her family.
- At 11 months old, became a full member of the Screen Actors Guild (SAG) in 2005, after playing an infant boy in an Italian (SAG signatory) commercial.
- 3rd-Generation actress: Ryan's grandmother, Dorothea (Wittekind) Baumann, was a student-actress in the School of Drama at the renowned Cincinnati Conservatory of Music (founded 1867) graduating in 1940. She studied under Reba Gill Borland. For one of her performances, the Cincinnati Post newspaper announced in a feature article with a large photo of her, that Miss Dorothea Wittekind would present "The Siege," a one-act play by Colin Clements, and that she recently appeared in the role of Pelleas in a production of "Pelleas and Melisande," by Maurice Maeterlinck (the "Belgian Shakespeare"). The Cincinnati Conservatory of Music and the College of Music of Cincinnati were two of the most highly prominent performing arts institutions in the United States from the late 1870s on. They flourished for decades up through the expansion of radio broadcasting, eventually merging in 1955 to form the nationally acclaimed Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music (CCM). Then in 1962, CCM became the 14th college of the University of Cincinnati (UC). Born in 1959 in Cincinnati, Ryan's father Joe Baumann (UC '82), played the minor recurring role of Starfleet Crewman "Garvey", a Security and Tactical Officer, on the famous television series Star Trek: The Next Generation (1987) for 5 seasons from 1989 - 1994. Filmed at Paramount Studios, Joe appeared as Security Officer "Garvey" in over 40 episodes, acting alongside such veterans as Whoopi Goldberg, James Cromwell, Patrick Stewart, LeVar Burton, Jonathan Frakes, Michael Dorn, Gates McFadden, Brent Spiner, Marina Sirtis, Wil Wheaton, Mark Lenard, Matt Frewer, Amy Pietz, Mark La Mura and Jonathan Del Arco. Joe played Security Officer "Garvey" in such memorable episodes as "I Borg", "Bloodlines" & "The Game", and "Garvey" had a pre-teen son in "New Ground." According to the Paramount Pictures' official series guidebook, Star Trek: The Next Generation Companion, novelist Nick Sagan (scriptwriter for Star Trek: TNG, & Voyager episodes) gave Joe's character the name "Garvey" after star baseball player Steve Garvey. Nick Sagan is the son of famous astronomer Carl Sagan. - Has a small birthmark on her upper left arm like a cool-looking tattoo. The birthmark is visible in a few photos on Ryan's IMDb Photo Gallery.
- Can closely mimic almost any accent once she hears it; a skill that was apparent at an early age. Has the most fun with a British or an American "Southern" accent. See Ryan's IMDb Videos of her using accents.
- Is in the early creative stages of writing her first screenplay/novel titled, Otherwise Vulnerable, a contemporary psychological drama.
- Was in her first commercial at 6 months old, cast as an infant son in an Italian commercial for Mulino Bianco biscuits. This SAG Principal role, Ryan's first job ever, earned her membership in the Screen Actors Guild (SAG) which she joined at 11 months old. As for Ryan's part in the finished commercial... if you blinked you would have missed her; she was seen in the arms of her on-camera mom for a few moments and another baby (a boy) got the big close-up for the same role. The commercial was filmed in 2005 in Los Angeles, CA.
- Attended the Motion Picture & Television Fund's Samuel Goldwyn Foundation Children's Center for preschool from age 18 months to almost age 5, in Los Angeles, California.
- Began modeling just before age 5 in 2009 when she was chosen as the "Matteo Girl" for the MATTEO children's Bambino clothing line made in downtown Los Angeles (www.MatteoLA.com). Ryan was the sole "face" of their Bambino line from 2010 - 2017. MATTEO designs, manufactures and markets worldwide, a premium line of classic sewn textiles, such as luxurious linens and clothing.
- It was with the international clothing company, American Apparel, at their big pink garment factory headquarters in downtown Los Angeles, that Ryan first really delved into print modeling from age 5 to 8. Wonderful people, huge sunlit windows, great music, and a creative atmosphere in the Kids graphic design studio, are all part of a fond memory. One remarkable photo shoot on February 14, 2011 lasted slightly over 4 hours, required 12 wardrobe changes, and resulted in 1728 photos taken (Ryan was 6 years old). See Ryan's IMDb Photo Gallery for a few examples.
- Was featured on sidewalk billboards from Manhattan NYC to Santa Monica CA as the "face" of the American Apparel Kids line in 2013 when Ryan was about age 8. The actual photo used was of Ryan about age 6, spinning around in a red chair in the Kids graphic design studio. The photo was the idea of in-house photographer Alexis Osborn, and it can be seen on Ryan's IMDb Photo Gallery. Ryan also appeared in a coveted, full-page solo shot in the American Apparel 2010-2011 international wholesale catalog (American Apparel once had 280+ stores in 20 countries throughout North America, Asia, Europe and Australia). That catalog shot, used to market product worldwide, can also be seen on Ryan's IMDb Photo Gallery.
- By age 9, Ryan was starring in SAG signatory, low-budget, independent films (filming inside and outside of California). These smaller, but very professional productions, gave Ryan at an early age valuable experience as a busy actress, working on multiple projects at the same time in different stages of production.
- Signed her very first autograph on February 22, 2015 at the end of a handwritten, hand-delivered thank you note to Patty and Dave Beth of Goldfield, Nevada. The Beth family hosted Ryan, her dad, and cast & crew for dinner (and much more), both at their home and at the historic Goldfield church, while filming American Warfighter (2018) on location there. Dave Beth was the first person ever to ask Ryan for an autograph, so Ryan made sure to write in the thank you note that this one was her very first autograph. Ryan was 10 years old.
- First magazine cover: At age 10, Ryan graced the online cover of Institute Magazine (August 30, 2015- and its "Pierrot Theatre" feature spread) wearing a dramatic Alexandria Olivia designer dress and collar from their Fall Couture 2015 Collection. Institute Magazine is a high fashion, new media magazine known as "The World's Online Beauty and Fashion Editorial Destination." Julie Daniels is the cover shot photographer. The designer, Alexandria Olivia, is the Chicago-based children's couture label. The magazine cover can be seen on Ryan's IMDb Photo Gallery.
- Released her debut pop single, Dreamin' a Dream (an original song), under the name "Ryan Claire" on April 1, 2020 on music platforms worldwide at age 15. She began experimenting as a "pop singer" in October 2015 at age 10, and started out performing live on stage at venues such as the House of Blues Anaheim (May 2017), CAP Studio Theater and Garden Pavilion Theater. In January 2016, Ryan worked with director Mark Pellington, filming a principal role for a new version of a Ruth B music video for her song "Lost Boy" (#1 song on USA iTunes Singer/Songwriter Chart from Jan. to Sept., 2016). Ryan first performed live on stage solo at the Indy Music Awards Show & Event on October 10, 2015 (presented by RK Records & Run/DMC Productions) at the Garden Pavilion Theater in Hollywood, CA. Ryan performed "See You Again", the song/rap by Wiz Khalifa featuring Charlie Puth.
