Barkers rev up your engines. The Freak Show is over, and the incessant quote canonizing can begin. As another season of American Horror Story closed on Wednesday, the freak fetishist became the freak. (If that meant we got to see Finn Wittrock in his skivvies, then so be it.) But Dandy Mott's downfall was just the beginning of the curiosities delivered by Elsa Mars and her band of outsiders. Picking up short after Dandy (Wittrock) began his tyrannical rule of the side show, the anthology show's season finale was a veritable a parade of zingers and bon mots worthy of creator Ryan Murphy,...

Admit it — You've been terrified of American Horror Story's tales, but you've lusted over the fashion.
While FX's anthology series has featured dozens of uniquely horrifying characters over the past four years, there is one thing that has always remained consistent in the critically acclaimed one-and-done series: Ahs' head costume designer Lou Eyrich.
Eyrich has been the fashion force behind nearly all of Ryan Murphy's iconic series. From Popular to Glee, and Nip/Tuck and the upcoming Scream Queens, Eyrich is a costume savant of the small screen world. In fact, the designer has already won an Emmy and four Costume Designer Guild Awards since 2009. Additioanlly, Eyrich is currently nominated again Outstanding Made for Television Movie or Mini Series for American Horror Story: Freak Show at the 17th Annual Cdga's.

After what she calls a "bleak" time in her life, Kathy Bates’ career resurgence just keeps getting better. The veteran actress picked up an Emmy earlier this year for her part in American Horror Story: Coven, and now she’s being recognized once again for her role on FX’s hit anthology series.
Early Thursday morning, Bates snagged her seventh Golden Globe nomination – the first since 2002’s About Schmidt -- for her portrayal of the bearded lady, Ethel Darling, on American Horror Story: Freak Show, pitting her against the likes of Orange Is the New Black’s Uzo Aduba and True Detective’s Michelle Monaghan in the Best Supporting Actress in a Series, Mini-Series or TV Movie category.
ETonline caught up with Bates, a two-time Globe winner, after the actress earned her latest nomination.

Indian actress Jyoti Amge stars in American Horror Story: Freak Show, but she also holds the official Guinness World Record for the world's smallest woman. She opened up to Et about working on the show and the reactions she usually gets from fans.
News: 2014 Fall TV Spoiler Spectacular
At just 23 inches tall, Jyoti, 20, is only eight inches taller than an Emmy award. Her small stature comes from a form of dwarfism called achondroplasia, and it affects how fans react to her when they meet her in real life.
"When people see me on TV, they become very happy because they don't have to interact with me," Jyoti said through a Hindi translator. "When they start interacting with me they ask me questions like I'm a baby or treat me like I'm a baby and hold me like I'm a baby, and that's what they do wrong, really."

Freak Show is starting to pick up momentum, giving its excellent cast more to work with. Here's Ron's review...
This review contains spoilers.
4.6 Bullseye
One of the show's better visual moments this season involves the classic sideshow stunt, the wheel of death. You strap someone in, spin the wheel, and then you throw knives at that person, usually getting close to the head and genitals, but never actually injuring the person. Since this is American Horror Story, that wheel becomes more than just a show. It's a warning, and when the knife thrower is an enraged Elsa Mars, well... accidents happen. Expected accidents happen, that is.
However, just because the knifing of Paul is foreshadowed well—he's Elsa's secret lover, he doesn't trust her as far as the twins go, he's got a girlfriend back in town—doesn't mean it's still not effective when it's actually executed. It's a dizzyingly...

American Horror Story, and in particular this season's "Freak Show," has about as much forward progression as a treadmill. This week's episode trudged ahead with its story by the smallest margin possible that could still be labeled "forward". Miraculously, the episode somehow managed to contain four plotlines: Elsa, further displaying her ruthlessness to survive on her birthday of all days, reveals a dangerous new act for the Freak Show (after surely watching Theo James perform a similar routine in Divergent); Stanley exerts pressure on Maggie to murder the Freaks; Paul indulges in a secret romance with Penny as he juggles his illicit affair with Elsa; and Dandy attempts to woo Bette and Dot much to the chagrin of his mother.
Most Quotable: Elsa dismissing Penny’s entrance into her tent as she consoles a wounded Paul, “Speaking of cheap perfume.

The fourth season of American Horror Story starts off with a stunning cold open amidst a quaint farmhouse. After stumbling upon a gruesome crime scene, a milkman makes an even more shocking discovery in a rural home. It’s difficult to remember an episode of Ahs in which the camera work is so effective as it is here. “Monsters Among Us,” directed by show creator Ryan Murphy, prefers to keep things hidden off-screen. The premiere episode of "American Horror Story: Freak Show" is so good that it makes us wonder: Could this be the year the FX horror series finally wins the Emmy Award for Best Miniseries or Movie? From the opening scene of a milkman's discovery, we can already tell that this installment is darker and definitely scarier. We're introduced to Bette and Dot Tattler (a doubly brilliant Sarah Paulson) the two headed 'freak' who is being courted by Elsa Mars (Jessica Lange) to join her dwindling local "Freak Show" act. But Elsa doesn't want Bette and Dot to join just because of their special circumstance, but because she has built a family of out-casters who she seems to genuinely care for. We meet Jimmy Darling (Evan Peters) who has flipper/lobster hands with special skills, Ethel Darling (Kathy Bates) Jimmy's mother and Elsa's confidant, Ma Petite (Jyoti Amge) the world's smallest woman,...

This one is gonna leave a mark!It sure looks like Lea Michelle was dissed by Jessica Lange at the "American Horror Story: Freak Show" premiere on Sunday night -- and it was all caught on camera. While Lea was posing for pictures on the red carpet, the veteran actress passed by her -- and though the "Glee" star tried to say "Hello," it appears Lange ignored her completely. Not convinced? Check out a closeup of the awkward moment around the 1:00 mark below:Adding insult to injury: Just a few steps later, Lange stopped to greet "Ahs" costar Jyoti Amge.Do we think this slight was intentional? Probably not ... but it's still pretty funny!Michele attended the event by Fox costars Jane Lynch, Chord Overstreet and Kevin McHale, to show their support for "Glee" creator Ryan Murphy. While Jessica's diss made a lasting impression, it was "Ahs" regular Naomi Grossman who really stole the show.

Whilst the rest of the cast of 'American Horror Story' tend to enjoy a fresh start every season by acquiring a new character and fresh role to tackle it appears that actress Naomi Grossman will be the first to reprise a role from a previous season. Grossman, who played Pepper back in 'Ahs: Asylum', is back and can be spotted alongside the World's smallest woman Jyoti Amge in a new still promoting FX's 'American Horror Story: Freak Show' which is due to premiere on Wednesday 8 October. The action of 'Freak Show' takes place 12 years before 'Asylum' so its perfectly plausible that Pepper can pop up in both. The new season also stars Jessica Lange, Sarah Paulson, Kathy Bates, Angela Bassett, Michael Chiklis, Evan Peters, Frances Conroy, Denis O'Hare, Emma Roberts, Finn Wittrock, Matt Bomer, Wes Bentley, John Carroll Lynch and Patti Labelle. The 2014 Prime Time Emmy Awards are in the books, and though most of Seth Meyers' jokes fell flatter than Olive Oyl's chest, there were two bright spots for horror fans!
Two of "American Horror Story: Coven's" leads - Jessica Lange and Kathy Bates - each took home Emmy gold for their work as Fiona Goode and Madame Delphine Lalaurie, respectively. Lange nabbed the award for Outstanding Lead Actress In A Miniseries Or A Movie and Bates nailed down the one for Outstanding Supporting Actress In A Miniseries Or A Movie.

As if Evil Dead hadn’t made split tongues freaky enough, the latest teaser for American Horror Story: Freak Show is here to elicit an involuntary shudder from us more squeamish of viewers. Hot on the heels of the first teaser giving us a (very scary) hand, this new clip certainly captures the creepy atmosphere and almost cartoonish scares of FX’s series.
