“Project Runway” is down to five designers, but are they the right five? All of the eliminations are decided by judges Karlie Kloss, Elaine Welteroth, Brandon Maxwell and a number of guest judges who have cycled through over the course of the season. But while mentor Christian Siriano is able to guide the designers over the course of each challenge, he wasn’t given a Save like his predecessor Tim Gunn. Was that a mistake? Scroll down to vote in our poll at the bottom of this post.
Gunn didn’t get to critique the designers’ finished looks or decide the eliminations either. But he had something just as valuable: the Tim Gunn Save. Given his expertise and his close working relationships with the designers, he was given the power to overrule a judges’ decision and rescue one contestant from elimination, starting in season 12. And some of those saves turned out to be quite fruitful.

‘Project Runway All Stars’: Are Anthony Williams, Fabio Costa & Stanley Hudson locks for the finale?
Season six of “Project Runway All Stars” seems to have settled around three consistent favorites: Anthony Williams, Fabio Costa and Stanley Hudson. All three have won multiple design challenges, and all have had only one low score apiece after nine episodes. Does that make them locks for the finale?
Maybe not. In season five only two of the three finalists had won multiple challenges before the last episode: the eventual winner Dom Streater and third-place finisher Ken Laurence, who is back in the running this season. The runner-up that year was Kini Zamora, who had only one challenge victory, though he did get a slew of other high scores during the competition. Zamora out-lasted three designers who had multiple victories: Sam Donovan (fourth place), Emily Payne (fifth place) and Asha Daniels (sixth place).

If it were up to us, "Project Runway" would never be "out," it would just play on a loop 24/7/365.
Sadly, Season 14 will say auf wiedersehen on Thursday, November 5th, so now seems like a good time to take stock and rank the previous 13 seasons, with the expectation that the 2015 season will probably fall somewhere in the middle of the pack once it's done. (Tim Gunn "hated" Season 14, but there have been worse.) Every season of PR is a precious, unique little rhinestone, but, like the judges, we have our favorites -- and now it's Our turn to be biased.
So here's our very subjective but still definitive worst-to-best ranking, which may only be challenged by a glare from Nina Garcia, an eye roll from Michael Kors, a "make it work" from Tim Gunn, or an "out" from Heidi Klum.
13. Season 11 (aka 'Teams')Maybe it seemed like a good, or at least dramatic,...

The world is her runway, and Heidi Klum got all gussied up for her flight out of Nice Airport on Friday afternoon (May 23).
Sporting a Theodora & Callum black multi Panama Tie All Scarf and a black ensemble, the “Project Runway” stunner carried her black leather purse past the paparazzi and hopped on a plane.
During the amfAR Cinema Against AIDS Gala last night (May 22) Heidi ended up running into none other than Justin Bieber.
And their interaction ended a bit awkwardly as Justin managed to accidentally grab Klum’s boob as he wrapped his arm around her for a photo opportunity!

Congratulations, Dom! The designer says she managed to stay out of the drama this season on ‘Project Runway,’ earning her the winning spot! See what else she had to say about her big win.
Dom Streater persevered through season 12 with one goal in mind: beating out her competition and bringing home the winning title of Project Runway! Now she just has to decide one thing- what to design next! She will receive a whopping $500,000 to design her next collection, and if it’s anything like we’ve seen this season, it will definitely be fabulous!
Dom Streater Wins Project Runway:
This season of Project Runway was particularly fierce because so many contestants were amazingly talented. The final challenge was a difficult one — design “washable fabrics,” along with finalizing the makeup, hair, and fittings before presenting it at the finale during Fashion Week. “I didn’t want to get caught up in the drama,...

Dom Streater went from working two jobs to support herself to winning Project Runway and a $500,000 prize package -- the biggest in series history. She wowed the judges -- Heidi Klum, Nina Garcia and Zac Posen, along with guest judge Kerry Washington -- with her "Retro Redux" collection at New York Fashion Week. Her work, which included prints that she had created herself, helped her beat out fellow finalists Alexandria von Bromssen, Bradon McDonald and Justin LeBlanc. Photos: 'Project Runway' Winners: Where Are They Now? On Friday, she talked to The Hollywood Reporter about her time on Runway and what's next.

The stakes are high for the designers showing at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week. Who had the winning collection? Keep reading for our recap of the ‘Project Runway’ season 12 finale!
The episode began with anxiety and excitement as Tim guided Alexandria, Dom, Justin, and Bradon through the last two days before the runway show. The designers still had to create the Tide “Washable Fabrics” look and finalize hair, make-up, model fittings, and last-minute construction issues — all in two work days!
Project Runway Finale Recap:
Alexandria talked with Tim about her frustrations with Nina’s remarks during the last episode. She decides to change the t-shirts in her collection for the show, which means she makes even more clothes on top of the original 30 pieces.
Bradon hilariously decides that simply walking between the sewing room and his workspace is a waste of time, and chooses instead to run in between the two places!

We're a week away from the Season 12 finale, "Project Runway" fans, and that means that someone's dreams are about to ripped right out of their hands.
After last week's cop-out of an episode that eliminated no one, tasking all five remaining designers to return home and build a collection for New York Fashion Week, though only two had guaranteed spots, it was time to reveal who would be joining Dom and Bradon in the actual, official, for-real finale: Justin, Helen or Alexandria.
This episode felt especially cruel, as all five designers were sent home and tasked to create a collection for the finale, complete with the requisite visit from Tim Gunn at their home. (Dom's prints: Swoon! Helen's construction: Worry! Alexandria's lack of color: Snore!) However, for three of these remarkably talented contestants, there was one final challenge. Upon returning to NY, after creating, I repeat for dramatic emphasis,...

In the first part of the season finale, we see the designers dream up their collections for Mercedes Benz Fashion Week, but Justin, Alexandria, and Helen still have to compete for a spot in the finale show! Read on for our recap of ‘Project Runway’ Season 12 Episode 13!
The episode begins with Heidi and Tim sending the designers off with the challenge of creating a 10-look collection for spring in a mere six weeks. The catch? One of the looks must be made of an unconventional material, “and you know what we mean when we say ‘unconventional,’ nothing resembling fabric,” Heidi warns them. As Tim wishes them luck, Alexandria tears up, saying they are “happy tears,” reminding us that these are real artists lucky enough to see their work come to life. We can’t wait to see what the designers come up with!

We're down to five designers on Season 12 of "Project Runway," with the dismissal of Kate and Alexander. Next week is the first part of the finale... so this is a big challenge - the final four move ahead to New York Fashion Week. We're close to the end. So get a glass of something and let's dig in, shall we?
Left in the competition: Dom (who won last week's challenge,) Alexandria, Justin, Bradon, and Helen. Justin knows he's got a target on him, as he's not won once.
Tim Gunn and the designers go on a field trip to Sweetbriar Nature Center in Long Island. It's always fun when the non-nature designers get sent out into nature. They get to take a tour through the butterfly house, along with Billy B., the L'Oreal consulting makeup artist. He and Tim explain the next challenge: an avant garde, daring, cutting edge L'Oreal Makeup Challenge,...

This week on ‘Project Runway’ the final 5 designers are met with the L’Oreal challenge! Read Michael Costello’s hysterical take on Season 12 Episode 12!
Episode 12 begins and I am still Shocked from last week’s double elimination. The last 5 designers remain (ahhhhh!) on this episode, and we find out who makes it to fashion week. Make It Work!
Project Runway Season 12 Episode 12:
Another vacation? Not fair!!!! The designers head to a butterfly house for their next challenge. This week’s challenge is avant-garde, daring and experimental. This is also the L’Oreal challenge. Each designer finds inspiration from a butterfly of their choice. Love this concept. Justin gets inspiration from an albino butterfly, I can’t wait to see what he will create.
The workroom seems to be mellow? Where is the drama????? I must say I do miss Ken and Sandro. Just kidding!!!
The makeup room is fabulous...
