Vincent Degiorgio is the president and founder of Chapter 2 Productions
Inc., which houses the publishing entities Cymba Music Publishing,
InterCym Music and The Billy Ray Louis Music Publishing Company.
He is a former International A&R VP at RCA and was responsible for signing N Sync in the US and is the owner and operator of the oldest dance music label in English speaking Canada, Power Records Inc.
His works have been recorded in 11 different languages in innumerable countries around the world, ranging from Canada to Korea, Sweden to South Africa, with sales exceeding thirty million units. He has written for international superstars such as Japan's NEWS and Chemistry, Taiwan's Jolin Tsai and Show Lo, German Idol winner Fady Malouf and pop rockers Aloha From Hell of Germany. He has had two top 5 singles in Japan with male pop band LEAD amongst his cuts. Domestically, his next single will be Brooklyn Roebuck's forthcoming "One Of These Days".
Recently, his co-writing and A&R skills reached another milestone, having contributed to all of the songs on Caro Emerald's blockbuster debut album 'Deleted Scenes From The Cutting Room Floor'. Recently certified platinum for the sales of over 1 million albums in Europe, this feverish send up of the 40's and 50's with a brilliant landscape from his co-writers David Schreurs, Jan van Wierengen and the Grandmono team, it has spawned certifications in the UK (platinum), Poland (double platinum) GSA (gold) and is the longest running # 1 album in the history of the Netherlands. It has remained on the album chart for over 100 weeks. He has also co-written the entire follow up, "The Shocking Miss Emerald", coming this spring as well as Lou Bega's "Happy Feeling" out now.
Vince's passion has always been a great song, and his formation of Cymba Music Publishing is what he calls 'a determined defiance to conventional publishing'. Cymba, an acronym for 'crushing your music business apathy' houses a unique, boutique roster of some of Canada's most creative and artful professionals.
His roster includes Hedley co-writer Davor Vulama, The Next Star hitmaking mainstay Ava Kay, performer/player and co-writer of "Let's Go" - Cymba's most synched copyright - Aileen de la Cruz and the prolific John Acosta. Cymba is also the first company to sign two Chinese born pop composers, Shawn Zhang and Young Feng. Cymba has secured over 150 synch licenses the company's writers.
InterCym represents a few select catalogues including Stockholm's "Scandinavian Songs", which placed 8 songs on Jacynthe's French comeback album.
His advocacy work continues as a member of the board of directors of the Songwriters Association of Canada, where he is directly involved as the producer of the "Songworks" songwriting camps. In addition, he is the outgoing chair of the Juno Awards dance music committee, and serves on the advisory board of MROC.
Away from the industry, Vincent is a rabid sports fan who follows his beloved Toronto Maple Leafs hockey club, and has continued to foster his love for Japanese baseball.
