Territory is one of the best new Netflix shows of October 2024! Since the series premiere on Oct. 24, the new Netflix original series has been one of the most popular shows of the month, too! Depending on where you live, Territory has been all over the Netflix Top 10 and is even the No. 1 show in many countries.
Created by Ben Davies and Timothy Lee, the neo-Western series stars Sam Corlett, Anna Torv, Michael Dorman, Robert Taylor, and more. Territory tells the story of the Lawson family who own the world's largest cattle company. In the Australian Bush, the Lawson family and their allies are under attack from all sides over the property.
We're still waiting for news about Territory season 2, but we're hopeful that it will happen on Netflix. Given the strong early viewership numbers, we should see a renewal in no time!

Yeah. Josh Brolin said that. There is now a very real possibility that Brolin’s villainous face as Thanos can return in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. We would be having our victory but… at what cost?

There’s this thing called a condition and Josh Brolin has become a master at it. Although the actor doesn’t have much demands for his role, we agree with what the Sicario star had to say about Thanos’ potential return in the MCU.
Josh Brolin Is Willing To Do Anything For Thanos’ Return!
It was the year 2019 when we last saw Josh Brolin as Thanos in Avengers: Endgame. His character was turned to dust by Robert Downey Jr.’s Iron Man and the world would never be the same.

Josh Brolin, renowned for his portrayal of Thanos in the MCU’s Infinity Saga, recently hinted at the possibility of returning to this iconic role.
During a conversation with Collider, Brolin expressed his eagerness to reprise the Mad Titan, stressing the significance of the right circumstances and the involvement of Joe and Anthony Russo.
“I’m not kidding — there’s a process to playing Thanos. It’s like, ‘Oh, they’re going to bring Thanos back.’ It’s similar to Sicario; it has to feel right. It’s like when Ryan Reynolds and I discuss Taylor Swift instead of focusing on Deadpool 4. We often go back and forth.
Ultimately, it’s about what fits in their minds and what fits in mine. Thanos must fit if he’s going to return. I would do anything the Russos wanted me to do,” Brolin shared.

More than five years after the release of “Avengers: Endgame,” there are many Marvel Cinematic Universe fans who say that Thanos is the best villain. And there are many of those people who would love to see Josh Brolin return as the character in a future project. But for that to happen, Brolin has some caveats.

The Marvel Cinematic Universe started out with some very bland villains. For most of Phases One and Two, the villains were all formulaic mirrors of the heroes without much in terms of complexity, who (mostly) ended up dead by the end of the film. Then everything changed with Thanos. Sure, there were exceptions before, like Loki, and Killmonger, but the Infinity Saga really went up on a high note when Thanos was brought back as the main villain of the MCU.
The character's impact was huge, becoming one of the best superhero villains since Heath Ledger's Joker, a complex antagonist that had people rooting for him. And he was a marvel of VFX wizardry by Weta FX and Digital Domain, one of the best digital characters of all time (and a rather silly character without CGI). It's no wonder, then, that fans want to see more of Thanos.

Recent rumors have claimed that Infinity Saga big bad Thanos is set to return for Avengers: Secret Wars, with Josh Brolin said to be in talks to reprise his role as the Mad Titan.
Brolin has now addressed the possibility of a return to the MCU, and while he stops short of confirming anything outright, he does at least hint that he's been contacted about potentially (mo-cap) suiting-up as the powerful villain again.
While discussing his past roles with Collider, Brolin admitted that he would consider playing Thanos again under the right circumstances - and with Joe and Anthony Russo at the helm.

We’re getting closer to the final episode of ‘Agatha All Along,’ and most of the cards on the table have been revealed, uncovering the identities of the characters that presented quite the mystery when the show first started airing.
One of the biggest mysteries was the identity of Aubrey Plaza’s Rio Vidal. Fans first assumed that she might be Mephisto’s gender-bent son, Blackheart until eventually her identity was first revealed by a Marvel merch leak, and ultimately by the show.
As it turns out Rio Vidal is the original Green Witch, Death. Her purpose in the show is still a mystery however all we know is that she joined the coven on the Witches Road to harvest their bodies, something she revealed back in episode 4.

Back in the 80s, Stephen King adaptations ruled the theaters. You could barely go a few months without hearing about a new film that was coming out. One that many would be surprised to find out was a King adaptation would be the testosterone-infused murder game show The Running Man. Released under King’s pseudonym, Richard Bachman, the book was hardly a hit. Once King was outed as the author, sales went through the roof. Hollywood came calling. With King being popular once again, another adaptation of the book is in the making.
What’s It About?
In the 80s adaptation, Arnold Schwarzenegger stars as a wrongfully convicted police officer. He gets a chance at freedom if he can survive the game show The Running Man. Of course, the game is rigged so that no one ever wins, but this time is different. They don’t know who they are messing with.

Michael Cera and Emilia Jones are lacing up their shoes for The Running Man.
Both actors have closed deals to join Glen Powell in Paramount’s adaptation of the Stephen King story that is being directed by Edgar Wright. For Cera, the move reunites him with the filmmaker behind one of his beloved roles, that of romantic slacker Scott Pilgrim from 2010’s Scott Pilgrim vs. The World.
Josh Brolin, Katy O’Brian (Love Lies Bleeding) and Lee Pace are already on the call sheet for the feature that is due to shoot in London at the top of next year.

The season 2 finale of The Lord of the Rigns: The Rings of Power aired early this month, and ever since it's hung around the top 10 most-watched shows and movies available on Amazon Prime Video, often claiming the number one spot. Today that changes. Brothers, a new movies starring Josh Brolin and Peter Dinklage as twin brothers (and criminals) who going on a cross-country roadtrip in pursuit of a big score, has dethroned it.
Brothers is a goofy action-comedy kind of movie, with some sentimental family drama thrown in there for good measure. By and large, folks seem not to like it; the movie has a 37% rotten rating from critics and a 41% rotten rating from audiences on Rotten Tomatoes. It's got big names in it — in addition Dinklage and Brolin, the movie also stars Glenn Close, Marisa Tomei and Brendan Fraser — but that's not enough to overcome a formulaic script.

Netflix might be the biggest streamer in the game, but it's not entirely without competition. While the company has around 282 million subscribers, Amazon's Prime Video service isn't too far behind with 230 million users. Are a large contingent of those people just Amazon customers who happen to have a Prime Video account by virtue of signing up to the company's fast delivery service? Yes. Still, it's not as if Amazon's platform hasn't earned the right to challenge Netflix for streaming supremacy.

Earlier this year, writer/director Rian Johnson got his latest film Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery – which, as you can glean from the title, is indeed the latest installment in the series of murder mysteries that Johnson began with Knives Out in 2019 and continued with Glass Onion in 2022 – through production. Quick — who’s your favorite character from The Goonies? Is it Chunk because of the truffle shuffle? Maybe Data because of his elaborate boobytraps? It seemed like the perfect premise for comedy—twin brothers Jady and Moke Munger reconnecting for one last criminal scheme, this time to track down the emeralds their mother stole decades ago. Directed by Max Barbakow, who scored big with the time-bending Palm Springs, and starring talented pros like Peter Dinklage and Josh Brolin in the leading roles, everything pointed to Brothers delivering the laughs. But as any movie lover knows, promising ingredients don’t always bake into a tasty cake.

Our top pick this week, “Woman of the Hour,” is the directorial debut of Academy Award nominee Anna Kendrick. Kendrick stars in this Netflix true-crime thriller as Cheryl Bradshaw, a woman who had a terrifying encounter with serial killer Rodney Alcala, whom she met when they both appeared on the game show “The Dating Game” in 1978. Daniel Zovatto, best known for appearing in horror movies like “It Follows” and “Don’t Breathe,” plays Alcala, with Tony Hale playing the host, who’s based on Jim Lange.
Kendrick is one of the few people to be nominated for the Triple Crown of Acting without winning in any category. She might get there someday, especially if she keeps making movies like this, a tense and thoughtful thriller with a 91% “Fresh” rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

Plot: Brothers tells the story of a reformed criminal whose attempt at going straight is derailed when he reunites with his sanity-testing twin brother on a cross-country road trip for the score of a lifetime. Dodging bullets, the law, and an overbearing mother along the way, they must heal their severed family bond before they end up killing each other.

If you’re anything like me, when you saw the title for Max Barbakow’s new comedy “Brothers,” you thought, “Finally! A movie about brothers!”
I kid, I kid. But it’s not like there’s ever been any shortage of films about fraternal love and/or hatred: “Step Brothers,” “The Blues Brothers,” “The Sisters Brothers,” “Seven Brides for Seven Brothers,” “East of Eden,” “Fred Claus.” You know, the giants. Max Barbakow’s first feature, the hilarious “Palm Springs,” injected new vitality into the rom-com genre and the time loop drama at the same time. Amazon Prime has lately shown a penchant for the kind of wacky action comedies studios aren’t flooding theatres with like they used to do. With films by Peter Farrelly, Paul Feig and others, the genre is alive and well in Culver City, and its acquisition of Palm Springs director Max Barbakow’s sophomore feature Brothers not only fits right into the mold but also manages to be a wildly entertaining example of how to do it.
What also makes this all work as well as it does is an exceptionally well-chosen cast of A-list actors working against type. What more do I have to say except that Josh Brolin and Peter Dinklage are playing fraternal twins and Glenn Close is their conniving grifter mother! Throw in a X-rated love scene with a CGI orangutan and you have the recipe for madness, which Brothers delivers in the best slapstick style.

Lee Pace has been cast in Paramount Pictures’ “The Running Man,” based on the novel of the same name by Stephen King that the author first published under the pseudonym Richard Bachman, the studio announced on Friday.
Glen Powell is set to star. Josh Brolin, Katy O’Brian and Daniel Ezra also recently joined the cast. According to the Hollywood Reporter, which first reported the news, “Pace is essentially the heavy of the movie, playing the brutal chief hunter for the network airing the game shows and tasked by the producer (Brolin) with tracking down Powell’s character.”
Edgar Wright is attached to direct and co-write the story with his “Scott Pilgrim vs. the World” collaborator Michael Bacall, who wrote the script.

Lee Pace, who memorably played the villain Ronan in Marvel Studios’ Guardians of the Galaxy, is back in bad guy mode.
The actor has closed a deal to join Glen Powell, Josh Brolin and Katy O’Brian (Love Lies Bleeding) in The Running Man, Paramount’s adaptation of the Stephen King novel.
Edgar Wright is directing the feature and co-wrote the script with Michael Bacall. Production is due to shoot in London at the top of next year.
King’s Running Man, published in 1982 and written under the pseudonym Richard Bachman, was set in 2025 in an America under a totalitarian regime that uses violent game shows to placate the disenfranchised masses.
The novel centered on one desperate man, needing money for his sick daughter, who joins the most popular show, The Running Man, in which teams of killers hunt down contestants. The longer a contestant survives, the more money that person makes.

Paramount Pictures' and director Edgar Wright's long-gestating adaptation of Stephen King's The Running Man is finally moving forward with Glen Powell in the lead role of Ben Richards, and the project has now added some A-list support in the form of Josh Brolin.
Deadline reports that Brolin is in final talks to play the "antagonist behind the violent reality show." However, Justin Kroll would later clarify that Brolin will not be playing the main villain, Damon Killian, but an unnamed producer on the series of the title.
Brolin played Thanos in Marvel Studios' Infinity Saga (there are rumors that he's set to return for Avengers: Secret Wars), as well as Cable in Deadpool 2. The highly in-demand actor recently passed on the offer to play Hal Jordan in the Dcu Lanterns series.
For those wondering, Brolin playing producer not Richard Dawson role, that is still open https://t.

‘Avengers: Secret Wars’ is poised to be the most significant MCU release since ‘Endgame.’ The film is set to serve a similar role as the finale of the Multiverse Saga and is rumored to include at least 50 characters, featuring both newcomers to live-action and familiar faces from other Marvel properties.
While you’ve probably come across various rumors about who will appear in ‘Secret Wars,’ today’s speculation carries more weight than the rest.
‘Secret Wars’ will showcase Doctor Doom as the primary villain and is expected to follow the comic storyline of the same name, paving the way for a soft reboot of the MCU. However, before this reboot occurs, sources like MyTimeToShineHello suggest that Thanos will make one final appearance.

The Goonies star James Brolin will star opposite Glen Powell in Edgar Wright’s take on Stephen King’s The Running Man.
As Edgar Wright’s take on The Running Man continues to edge closer to production, another key piece of casting has been announced. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Josh Brolin will play the film’s lead antagonist, most likely the lead hunter pursuing Powell’s Ben Richards, the titular ‘running man.’
Set in a dystopian future where America has become largely ghettoised, reality TV is the ‘opiate of the masses’, pumping out violent shows that distract viewers from the misery that surrounds them. The most popular show of all, The Running Man, charges a contestant with running and hiding for a month as hunters attempt to track them down and murder them.

As a wise Mad Titan once sort of said, "Dread it, run from it, a new villainous role for Josh Brolin arrives all the same." Josh Brolin (Outer Range) may not be charging up his power ring anytime soon, but he is in final negotiations to play the villain in Edgar Wright’s upcoming reimagining of The Running Man.

Now, Prime Video’s “Brothers” offers him a chance to sink his teeth into a largely comedic role. Brolin plays the dorky brother leading an honest life whereas Dinklage plays the adventurous criminal who has spent half a decade in prison. The film is directed by Max Barbakow, known for directing “Palm Springs” starring Cristin Milioti and Andy Samberg.

The increasing predominance of streaming content over theatrical releasing continues apace with Brothers, a Legendary Entertainment production that distributor Amazon MGM Studios dropped into a handful of theaters for a week without critics’ screenings, ahead of its Oct. 17 debut on Prime. That strategy will likely turn out to be fortuitous for a mildly amusing feature that lacks the heft to compete at the early awards-season box office, leaving the film to find a less-committed audience in the streaming-verse.
Josh Brolin and Peter Dinklage play mismatched siblings with heavy jaws (enhanced in Dinklage’s case by a handlebar mustache) in Max Barbakow’s second feature, which finds him trading the subtler comic shadings of Palm Springs for ham-fisted humor, to disappointingly diminishing effect.

Despite the controversy surrounding it, Lanterns is shaping up to be a highly anticipated series that fans are eager to see. Many are hopeful that the show could be a success for the DC Universe, especially following the success of The Penguin, which, while not part of the official Dcu, is still based on DC Comics.
Not long ago, details about the series were scarce, aside from the fact that it would be an Earth-based murder mystery in the vein of True Detective, featuring two iconic Lanterns: Hal Jordan and John Stewart.
After some casting controversies regarding Hal Jordan, it’s now confirmed that Kyle Chandler and Aaron Pierre will portray the two Lanterns.
Recently, a popular rumor mill on X shared what appears to be the first plot details for the Lanterns series. If the outline is accurate, it seems that the show’s format as a True Detective-style mystery is indeed on point.

After the Hal Jordan casting controversy, we finally know who is going to play the two Lanterns – Kyle Chandler and Aaron Pierre.
Building on this, a popular rumor mill on X posted what seem to be the first plot details for the Lanterns TV series,...

Josh Brolin is set to play a priest in ‘Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery’.The 56-year-old actor is due to join the Daniel Craig-starring whodunnit series in the next instalment and has revealed he will be playing a man of God in the upcoming movie - a role the ‘Dune’ star wanted to tackle. He told TotalFilm: "I’m playing a priest. My wife reminded me … She said, 'Do you remember a year ago you said that you wanted to play a priest? It's like you manifest this s***.’"Reflecting on the murder-mystery movie, the 'Avengers: Endgame' star heaped praise onto his "new favourite director" Rian Johnson and labelled the flick as "one of the greatest experiences [he’s] ever had".He gushed: "Rian is probably my new favourite director. In “Brothers,” Josh Brolin and Peter Dinklage play adult twins who’ve been criminal accomplices ever since their jewelry-heisting mom abandoned them as kids.
You hear the pitch for director Max Barbakow’s follow-up to his 2020 Sundance phenom “Palm Springs” and brace yourself for the possibility that the two actors’ mismatched appearances will be the source of the laughs. Screenwriters Macon Blair (“The Toxic Avenger”) and Etan Cohen ( “Tropic Thunder”) have credits that suggest as much, while Hollywood has a history of turning out “high-concept” comedies like “Stuck on You” and “Twins,” for those old enough to remember the ’80s flick in which Arnold Schwarzenegger and Danny DeVito played long-separated (and far-from-identical) siblings.
It comes as a relief to find that the gap in stature between Moke (Brolin) and Jady (Dinklage) is not at all the difference that “Brothers” intends to focus on. Rather, it’s their mild-versus-wild personalities and...

Theaters are brimming over with an army of well-reviewed and buzzy indie films. But, in an unusual state of affairs, pretty much all of them are in wide release, meaning Terrifier 3, Piece by Piece, Saturday Night and The Apprentice, as well as animated My Hero Academia: You’re Next. Limited openings are few — a trio of quality documentaries, A24’s We Live In Time, a couple of Academy runs and a faith-based Mormon film on Brigham Young’s ascendance. There also are a half-dozen Indian films in limited to moderate release.

Just last month, Kyle Chandler was in talks to star in HBO’s Lanterns, and now it’s official. Meet your new Hal Jordan!
The live-action Green Lantern series is said to have a True Detective vibe as it “follows new recruit John Stewart and Lantern legend Hal Jordan, two intergalactic cops drawn into a dark, earth-based mystery as they investigate a murder in the American heartland.” It was confirmed yesterday that Aaron Pierre (Rebel Ridge) would also star as John Stewart. I’m excited about this one.
Chris Mundy (Ozark) will serve as showrunner and executive producer and will co-write the series alongside Damon Lindelof (The Leftovers) and Tom King (Supergirl), who will also executive produce. James Hawes, a prolific TV director best known for Black Mirror and Slow Horses, will helm the first two episodes.
