Countless contestants on The Bachelor and The Bachelorette have been called out for not being on the show “for the right reasons” over the course of the franchise’s 21-year history, most commonly because they’re found out to be looking for fame or Instagram followers instead of the love of their life. The worst of that bunch appeared on the show with partners waiting for them back at home, like The Bachelorette Season 15’s Jed Wyatt, or took their opportunity in the spotlight to insult every woman they dated, like The Bachelor Season 18’s Juan Pablo Galavis.

The Apprentice contestant (turned Trump White House staffer) was one of eight reality TV villains to get the boot in Round 2 of Primetimer's Ultimate Reality TV Villains Bracket. Omarosa's early exit from the tournament wasn't the only upset in the Round of 16, which also saw Juan Pablo Galavis, the most hated man in The Bachelor history, fall to The Real Housewives of New York alum Ramona Singer, and embattled Dance Moms star Abby Lee Miller bow down to Survivor finalist Russell Hantz and his fedora.

The Bachelor franchise certainly likes to bring back past contestants for different seasons and spinoffs, and new Bachelorette Clare Crawley is definitely one of those. Her appearance on The Bacheloretteis actually her fifth time on one of the franchise's shows. Here's a brief recap of Clare's history on all the Bachelor shows to date.
The Bachelor
Clare made her debut in 2014, when she was a contestant on Juan Pablo Galavis's season of The Bachelor. She made a big impression, and, in fact, she made it all the way to the finale, where she and Nikki Ferrell were the last two women competing for Juan Pablo's heart. In the end, though, he didn't choose her as the winner, choosing Nikki instead. Upon learning this news, Clare refused a "comforting" goodbye hug from Juan Pablo, instead calling him out, apparently over something he'd said to her that viewers never got to hear.

Now that Clare Crawley's season of The Bachelorette has started, it's the perfect time to revisit her time on The Bachelor and what happened between her and Juan Pablo Galavis. While she's best known for her awesome telling-off of Juan Pablo on the finale, their story had quite a few other bumps along the way as well.
Clare was a front runner early on, getting the first one-on-one date of the season. In the first few weeks, she seemed to struggle with her feelings about dating him while he was dating other women, particularly coming into conflict with Nikki Ferrell early on over the drama in the house. She did, however, make a big impression during a group date in Vietnam, snagging Juan Pablo as her partner for a rowboat date and later convincing him to go for a sexy one-on-one swim.

With fans counting down the days until the new season premieres, ABC decided to give viewers a little sneak peek at the California hairstylist's journey to find love with a new trailer on Sept. 1. The teaser started off by looking back at Crawley's time on Galavis' season of The Bachelor in 2014. It showed her famously standing up to the former professional soccer player after he didn't give her his final rose and, as she had put it, chose to tell her "something that no woman wants to hear" when the cameras weren't rolling. "I would never want my children having a...

In a normal year, “The Bachelorette” would’ve finished airing by now, but there is nothing normal about 2020. Production on Season 16 was postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic just when it was about to start in March. It began filming in July, and less than three weeks later, we got a new Bachelorette.
Here’s everything to know so far about the upcoming season.
It has a premiere date
Season 16 will launch with a two-hour premiere on Tuesday, Oct. 13 at 8/7c on ABC. The show is airing on Tuesdays instead of its usual Mondays this season because “Dancing with the Stars” occupies that slot in the fall.
It originally just starred Clare Crawley, the oldest Bachelorette ever
So the basics: If you’re unfamiliar with Crawley, she read Juan Pablo Galavis, the worst Bachelor ever, the riot act when he callously dumped her (after making a crude remark on their...

While it's probably going to be a while before we have new Bachelor content, ABC is coming through this summer with The Bachelor: The Greatest Seasons Ever!. As the franchise is getting attention off screen for its issues with diversity, it's also airing a limited series revisiting some of the franchise's most popular and attention-grabbing seasons. So what can we expect from this greatest-hits show? We've got all the details right here.
The show is scheduled to run for 10 weeks, airing on Mondays throughout the summer and spanning ABC's entire, three-hour primetime block for each of those nights. Which seasons will be included, though? That's a question that's still a little bit mysterious. Officially, only the first three episodes of the 10 have been announced. The June 8 premiere recapped Sean Lowe's season of The Bachelor from 2013 - an unsurprising choice to launch the retrospectives, since Sean remains the only Bachelor...

When you're a lover of dating shows who also happens to be Black, you come to expect certain things when watching a show like The Bachelor. You may hedge bets on how far Black contestants will make it because, unless the bachelor or bachelorette is notably interested in them, it's unlikely they'll get very far. You wonder how long it will take for them to be labeled "aggressive" or spotlighted as a villain for being outspoken. You also cautiously scroll through the #BachelorNation tag on Twitter fearing that other fans of the show will reveal their uglier sides when it comes to contestants that look more like you than they're used to.

Right about now, we should be settling in to watch Clare Crawley begin what could just be the final leg of her journey to find love. Having been put through the Bachelor wringer—remember when editors thought it'd be hilarious to splice her Bachelor in Paradise heart-to-heart with a producer to make it seem as if she talks to animals?—the 39-year-old has absolutely earned the right to hand out the roses on the 16th season of The Bachelorette. And she knows it. Frankly, it's the least producers could do after setting her up with Juan Pablo Galavis. But that experience, which ended with her putting the former pro soccer player in his place, and every failed romance that came...

There may be no new season of “The Bachelorette” this summer, but fear not, Bachelor Nation because there will be new “Bachelor” content — sort of.
On Monday, June 8, ABC will premiere “The Bachelor: The Most Unforgettable — Ever!”, a 10-episode retrospective series revisiting the most iconic moments in the franchise’s 18-year history. (Missed opportunity not to use “dramatic” if you ask us.) Hosted by Chris Harrison, each three-hour episode of the greatest hits series will highlight, per the ABC press release, “some of the most devastating rose ceremonies, passionate proposals, unexpected new arrivals, dramatic meltdowns, biggest breakups, and, of course, the most romantic moments.” Harrison will also catch up virtually with alumni.
“We really wanted to give Bachelor Nation something to watch, and immediately, there was this clamoring and desire from our fans to watch old seasons,” Harrison told our sister site “Variety,” which first reported the news.

Jimmy Kimmel just gave us the most dramatic reveal in all of Bachelor history. While answering fan questions on Sunday's at-home episode of Watch What Happens Live, the late night host was asked to weigh in on his most "boring" Jimmy Kimmel Live interview with a member of the Bachelor Nation. Stuck on the question, he asked his wife Molly McNearney, who was hanging out off-camera, for help. "The most boring Bachelor contestant I've ever interviewed on the show," he pondered with host Andy Cohen. "Molly, what do you think? Molly says the soccer player." Fans of the hit ABC series know that she was referring to Juan Pablo Galavis, who handed out roses on season 18 of The Bachelor back in...

You’ve heard of women keeping their wedding dresses, but breakup dresses? Well, that’s what incoming Bachelorette Clare Crawley did.
Like some of us in quarantine, Crawley spent Saturday doing some cleaning and shared a item of clothing on her Instagram Story that everyone in Bachelor Nation ought to recognize: the beaded asymmetrical teal dress she wore on the season finale of “The Bachelor” in 2014 — you know, the episode in which she excoriated Juan Pablo Galavis in one of the most memorable breakup moments in “Bachelor” history.
“Cleaning out closets today… look familiar?!” Crawley wrote. “Fun fact: the entire zipper is shredded and unusable because I ripped this dress off as soon as I got into the car.”
The 39-year-old shared that she kept the dress for two reasons: “1) Cary hand-beaded this and it meant the world to me. 2) It was the most empowering moment of my life.”

There's a revenge dress and there's a breakup dress... It's safe to say that Bachelorette star Clare Crawley had one of the most memorable breakup dresses in Bachelor Nation history. When she was a contestant on The Bachelor in 2014, the 39-year-old star made jaws drop when she called things off with Juan Pablo Galavis. As many fans will remember, Crawley stood up for herself and told the 38-year-old lead exactly how she felt during the finale. "Do you know how I feel? Do you know when I made my decision?" the soccer star asked the blonde beauty. "It doesn't matter to me," she responded, as she...

It was an inspiring moment, when Bachelor Nation reached into its past and named Clare Crawley, who first appeared on The Bachelor in 2014, as the next Bachelorette. Now also a veteran of Bachelor in Paradise and The Bachelor Winter Games, Clare remains best known for telling Juan Pablo Galavis off when he gave her the brush before not-proposing to Nikki Ferrell and shirking the usual declaration of love that caps off each season (even when the declarer later has second thoughts). "I thought I knew what kind of man you were and—I'm not done," Clare said as a not terribly broken up Juan Pablo attempted to cut her off at the pass with some bemused...

Despite how things ended between them on “The Bachelor” and their recent Twitter tiff, Juan Pablo Galavis insists he’s “happy” for Clare Crawley to lead “The Bachelorette” and wants her to find true love.
“I never had any bad blood with her,” the Season 18 star told “Life & Style. “She has been looking for love for some time and she totally deserves it. … She has been a part of the franchise shows for years, and now, she has the chance to pick who can potentially be the love of her life. Not an easy task, but a great opportunity for her.”
“She just has to follow her heart, do what she believes is best for her future, be real and not let the show pressure her into making the wrong decision,” he added.

Neil Lane-sponsored proposals are as essential to the Bachelor franchise as disasters are to Grey's Anatomy. Rachel Lindsay suitor Peter Kraus was basically voted off the island for admitting that, yeah, it's hard to wrap your mind around committing to forever after just weeks of sporadic dating. And previous stars such as Juan Pablo Galavis and Brad Womack were crucified for refusing to get down on one knee as if it were a character flaw to not be 100 percent confident in what is, essentially, a brand new relationship. But, dare we argue, it's far, far worse to ask someone to make a lifelong commitment when you're...

The Bachelorette's Clare Crawley is (still) putting Juan Pablo Galavis in his place. “The Bachelorette” Season 16 is shaping up to be a U.S.-bound production. A source tells Variety that initial plans to shoot parts of the upcoming season — featuring newly unveiled star Clare Crawley — in Italy had to be changed, given concerns over the growing threat of coronavirus.

Clare Crawley is the new star of “The Bachelorette,” which is a very good thing because 1) we’ll finally have an older lead (a whopping 38 years old!) and 2) it lets us revisit the moment she cemented herself into Bachelor Nation lore.
