One of the most celebrated cinematic interpretations of Stephen King is the two-film adaptation of his seminal horror novel "It." Directed by Andy Muschietti, with the movies released in 2017 and 2019, "It" follows the twisted coming-of-age of a group of childhood friends in Derry, Maine. While the seven kids are harassed by neighborhood bully Henry Bowers (Nicholas Hamilton) and his gang of teenage ne'er-do-wells, a different kind of evil festers under Derry. Primarily appearing in the form of Pennywise the Dancing Clown (Bill Skarsgård), this otherworldly monster instills fear in its young victims before consuming them entirely.
Though the creature has haunted the region since ancient times, the first chapter takes place in the summer of 1989. That's when Pennywise surfaces to claim new victims around Derry while setting its sights on the main characters. "It" is one of Stephen King's most beloved novels. The horror story has terrified readers since it debuted in 1986. "It" features some of the most disturbing moments that King has ever created, and that's no small statement. While the story itself is horrifying, "It" explores the lasting impact of childhood trauma. The coming-of-age elements make "It" one of King's most heartfelt stories. Children and adults can feel inspired by seeing the Losers' Club overcome their fears.
Given the book's popularity, a film adaptation was nearly guaranteed. "It" was first adapted as a two-part miniseries in 1990, starring Tim Curry as Pennywise the Clown. The first episode showed the youthful adventures of the Losers' Club, and the second episode flashed forward to their time as adults. While there is a lot of nostalgia for the 1990 "It," the miniseries doesn't quite capture all the nuances that made the novel so beloved.

Last month, we learned that Lionsgate is funding a horror film based on the novel Creepers (pick up a copy Here) by First Blood author David Morrell. Nicholas Hamilton has accomplished more than most at the age of 21 but there remains one ambition he is yet to fulfil.
The actor and musician, who spent his teens starring in titles such as It, The Dark Tower, and Danger Close, returned to his Northern Nsw hometown of Alstonville last month after two and a half years in LA, and has his sights set on a nearby cultural hotspot.
“I’m excited about the prospect of being a Byron Bay musician,” he tells If.

Hamilton’s time away proved to be productive, even with last year’s pandemic disruption.

With theaters open in 44 of the 50 states, cinemas are finding something to show — although turnout is still so modest that distributors are still being hesitant about what to release. That means another week in what’s now going on five months of the industry’s pivot to streaming releases, with a fresh batch of respectable lower-profile offerings.
Netflix continues to lead the pack with options, releasing four new features (that we know of), including the superhero-esque movie “Project Power,” a sci-fi thriller about a drug that gives ordinary folks special abilities … for about five minutes. Such is the question posed by Scott Speer’s “Endless” — and hopefully, no one else ever — a teen-centric interrogation of the possibility of life after death. Riley (Alexandra Shipp) and Chris (Nicholas Hamilton) don’t make much sense on paper, but the recent high school graduates are deeply in love, a point driven home during the film’s voiceover-heavy opening sequence, in which Riley expounds on their differences (she loves art! he likes motorcycles!) that somehow make them stronger.
Soon, however, they are torn apart, though not in the way Georgetown-bound Riley expects. Riley’s parents don’t dig Chris, and his panache for hauling off their just-graduated high schooler to college parties thrown by their friends (also recently graduated!) isn’t helping matters.
Tragedy strikes, and Chris — a sweet boy, but one defined entirely by his choice of vehicular transportation and leather jacket to match — is killed in a terrible accident.

"I hear your voice everywhere I go..." Quiver has released the official trailer for a romantic drama titled Endless, the latest from filmmaker Scott Speer, who seems to have a thing for young love films - making Midnight Sun and I Still See You before this. This is a story of connection despite tragedy: when madly in love high school graduates Riley and Chris are separated by a tragic car accident, Riley blames herself for her boyfriend's death while Chris is stranded in limbo. But miraculously they end up connecting. Both are forced to learn the hardest lesson of all: letting go. Starring Alexandra Shipp and Nicholas Hamilton, with DeRon Horton, Famke Janssen, Ian Tracey, and Eddie Ramos. This looks a bit like Ghost for a new generation, with a very handsome ghost guy reconnecting with his living love and helping her move on. Of course it's super emotional and sappy and cheesy,...

When the big-screen adaptation of “It” debuted at the box office in 2017, it landed with a massive splash — becoming the highest grossing R-rated horror film in history, raking in the biggest box office sales for an adaptation of a Stephen King novel and eventually earning more than $700 million worldwide.
So as “It: Chapter Two” heads to theaters, is the Losers Club feeling the pressure to deliver another box office hit?
“I feel zero pressure,” Jessica Chastain — who stars as adult Beverly Marsh — told Variety’s Marc Malkin at the film’s Los Angeles premiere. “This ain’t my machine…I’m a peg. We’re all a part of the machine, I’m like a screw in the machine.”

‘Danger Close: The Battle of Long Tan.’
Most Australian films are caught in a catch-22: Independent distributors are constrained in how much they can spend on P&a. The upshot: Films suffer from lack of visibility and find it tough, if not impossible, to achieve their box office potential.
That’s according to Red Dune Productions’ Martin Walsh, who produced Kriv Stenders’ Danger Close: The Battle of Long Tan with Deeper Water Films’ Michael and John Schwarz.
The Vietnam War movie starring Travis Fimmel, Luke Bracey, Richard Roxburgh, Daniel Webber, Nicholas Hamilton, Aaron Glenane and Anthony Hayes has grossed $1.75 million in 13 days on 235 screens.
Walsh has no quarrel with the distributor Transmission Films, telling If: “They have done a sterling job with the resources they have, we love working with them and they were the only distributor willing to support our film.

Scripted by Ward and Joanna Murray-Smith, the comedy-drama about a group of lifelong friends reuniting to celebrate a special birthday rang up $1.14 million on 250 locations and $1.23 million with previews.

Sam Cotton in ‘Diary of an Uber Driver.’
When Sam Cotton landed the title role in the ABC/RevLover Films’ dramedy Diary of an Uber Driver, he approached the job with some trepidation.
It was his first lead after playing Bruce, the nemesis of Luke McGregor’s Daniel in the ABC’s Rosehaven, and son-in-law Wayne in Sbs’s The Family Law.
He plays Uber driver Ben, whose life had always been in cruise control until his newish girlfriend Beck (Zahra Newman) gets pregnant in the six-parter scripted by Tom Ward, based on Ben Phillips’ blog.
He got the gig after doing a self-tape when he lived in Brisbane (he is now based in Sydney), followed by a call back in Sydney a few weeks later.

Outnumbered. Outgunned. Never Out of Courage.
It seems like it’s been awhile since we’ve seen a movie set during the Vietnam war, but we’ve got one coming called Danger Close: The Battle of Long Tan and it tells a pretty crazy story.
The film tells the harrowing true story of 108 young and inexperienced Australian and New Zealand soldiers who are forced to fight to survive against 2,500 North Vietnamese and Viet Cong soldiers who are attacking them.
This is the kind of intense survival war story that I love to hear about and it looks like it going to make for a solid film. The movie my not have any big name actors in it, but it looks good and I’ll watch it! Here’s the synopsis:

Here's the latest photo from the set of director Andy Muschietti's It: Chapter 2. It offers us our first look at Bill Skarsgård, back as Pennywise The Clown, and as you can see he's in a playfully creepy mood. In this new film, he will be terrorizing the Losers Club as they reunite in Derry, Maine to face him once again and try to stop him once and for all.
For those of you familiar with the book, you will recognize a few things in the photo below. Pennywise is hanging out on the shoulder of a giant Paul Bunyan. In the book, he possesses the statue to terrorize Richie. He also took on the form of a werewolf and the witch from Hansel and Gretel to scare some of the other members of the Loser's Club. I can't wait to see the giant Paul Bunyan come after Richie!

Here's our first look at the Loser's Club all growth up walking on the streets of Derry in director Andy Muschietti's It: Chapter 2.
This photo features all of the alt cast members which includes James McAvoy as Bill, Jessica Chastain as Beverly, Bill Hader as Richie, Jay Ryan (Beauty and the Beast) as Ben, James Ransone (Generation Kill) as Eddie, and Isaiah Mustafa as Mike. The only person absent is Andy Bean as Stanley Uris. If you're familiar with the story, then you know why he's not there.

The original young cast will also return for the sequel for a variety of flashback scenes. They include Jaeden Lieberher, Jeremy Ray Taylor, Finn Wolfhard, Wyatt Oleff, Chosen Jacobs, Jack Dylan Grazer and Nicholas Hamilton. Then, of course, there's Bill Skarsgård who will return as Pennywise the Clown.

Jessica Chastain has shared a new It: Chapter 2 photo featuring Sophia Lillis, who plays the young version of Beverly Marsh, passing the red balloon off to Chastain, who plays the older version of Beverly. It's kind of a celebratory photo and just a little something to get fans excited for the upcoming sequel.
The film has been shooting for a couple of weeks and I hope that they have a little something to show fans at Comic-Con this week from it.

An official photo from the set of It: Chapter 2 has surfaced featuring The Losers Club as they reunite. This photo features all of the alt cast members which includes James McAvoy as Bill, Jessica Chastain as Beverly, Bill Hader as Richie, Jay Ryan (Beauty and the Beast) as Ben, James Ransone (Generation Kill) as Eddie, with Andy Bean (Here and Now) as Stanley Uris, and Isaiah Mustafa as Mike. The photo came with the caption, "Back to Derry with the Losers."
I really wish I could be in that room with them as they read through the script! I'd really love to see what director Andy Muschietti is doing with this second half of the story. He's teased a few things in the past, but now that the film is starting production, whatever the story the script tells is pretty much set in stone.

Director Andy Muschietti recently started shooting It: Chapter 2 and thanks to James McAvoy we have some photos to look at from the set featuring the cast of the film having a good time. These were obviously taken before Pennywise the Clown starts terrorizing them. I also included an image that was shared by Jessica Chastain showing her face merged with Sophia Lillis' face to show the age progression of the character Beverly.
The movie is shooting in Toronto and the sequel has a great cast, which also includes Bill Hader as Richie, Jay Ryan (Beauty and the Beast) as Ben, James Ransone (Generation Kill) as Eddie, with Andy Bean (Here and Now) as Stanley Uris, Isaiah Mustafa as Mike, and then there's creepy Bill Skarsgård as Pennywise the Clown.

Once 2017’s glimpse into the humble lives of Derry’s residents proved to be a box office juggernaut, it only made sense that studios scramble to get the next adaptation of a story penned by Stephen King up on the big screen, chief among which will be It: Chapter Two. After all, it’s more than understandable that Pennywise continue leading the way as the horror keeps flowing.
And with production on the highly anticipated sequel commencing shortly (recent reports stating filming has already begun were apparently erroneous), key pieces of the puzzle are already falling into place, what with Andy Muschietti returning to direct, the kids from the first flick coming back in some capacity, along with the likes of Isaiah Mustafa, Andy Bean, Jay Ryan and James Ransone having signed up to play some of their adult counterparts.
Of course, more than just the Losers’ Club will be making up the followup.
