London, July 12 (Ians) Several UK health groups on Wednesday accused big pharmaceutical companies of extracting about 11.9-12.6 billion pounds of excess profits from the NHS England for its 10 super-expensive drugs used for cancer, arthritis and blood clots.
As per latest figures, NHS England has spent 13 billion pounds on just 10 super-expensive medicines in the 10 years leading up to 2022.
A report by health campaign groups Global Justice Now, Stopaids, and Just Treatment shows that the NHS is being charged sky-high prices for key drugs, even after accounting for reasonable levels of profit.
This includes an estimated mark-up of 23,000 per cent on cancer drug lenalidomide, even assuming a reasonable profit margin of up to 50 per cent.
The health groups have called the figures “evidence of profiteering”, as the drugs could have been made for a small fraction of the price charged to the NHS.

I honestly never expected Steven Spielberg in a Criterion Channel series––certainly not one that pairs him with Kogonada, anime, and Johnny Mnemonic––but so’s the power of artificial intelligence. Perhaps his greatest film (at this point I don’t need to tell you the title) plays with After Yang, Ghost in the Shell, and pre-Matrix Keanu in July’s aptly titled “AI” boasting also Spike Jonze’s Her, Carpenter’s Dark Star, and Computer Chess. Much more analog is a British Noir collection obviously carrying the likes of Odd Man Out, Night and the City, and The Small Back Room, further filled by Joseph Losey’s Time Without Pity and Basil Dearden’s It Always Rains on Sunday. (No two ways about it: these movies have great titles.) An Elvis retrospective brings six features, and the consensus best (Don Siegel’s Flaming Star) comes September 1.

Bryan Cranston has changed his mind from recent remarks he made in an interview with British GQ that he would retire in 2026.
Cranston initially told the men’s magazine that he intended to close his television production company, Moonshot Entertainment, and move to France with his wife, Robin Dearden. He also planned to sell his portion of his mezcal company, Dos Hombres, which he co-founded with his Breaking Bad costar, Aaron Paul. Many interpreted these comments to mean that the actor was retiring.
After numerous articles announced Cranston’s plan for retirement, the actor shared a lengthy post on Instagram on June 10 to clarify his thoughts.
“I am not retiring,” Cranston wrote. “What I am going to do is hit the pause button for a year after I reach my 70th birthday in 2026.”
The “year off” still includes a trip to France with Dearden as a married couple in their “latter years.

Bryan Cranston is clarifying his recent comments about his retirement plans. In a June 8 interview with British GQ, Cranston, 67, explained that he intends to retire in 2026 when he'll be 70. And his retirement won't just be from acting: he also wants to shut down his production company and sell his half of the mezcal tequila company he runs with "Breaking Bad" costar Aaron Paul.
"I want to change the paradigm once again," Cranston told the outlet about his decision, adding his wife, Robin Dearden, is at the center of his choice. "For the last 24 years, Robin has led her life holding onto my tail. She's been the plus one, she's been the wife of a celebrity. She's had to pivot and adjust her life based on mine. She has tremendous benefit from it, but we're uneven. I want to level that out. She deserves it."

Bryan Cranston has a plan for his Hollywood career to come to a brief end in 2026 so that he can spend more time with his wife, Robin Dearden. The Emmy winner announced the plan in a new GQ UK interview, saying he will take at least six months off from Hollywood and move to France in 2026.
As reported by GQ: “In 2026, one of the greatest actors of this era will retire – at least temporarily. Cranston is planning to shut down his production company, sell his half of Dos Hombres, and abscond with Dearden to a foreign country, probably France, for a minimum of six months.”
On Friday, he posted an Instagram clarifying that although some publications had characterized his break as retiring from acting, he did not mean permanently.
“Some news came out that wasn’t entirely clear…even to me. So I wanted to set the record straight.

Bryan Cranston says he will retire from acting in 2026.
The “Breaking Bad” Emmy winner will be 70 years old at that time, and speaking with British GQ in an interview published Thursday, he explains that even if it’s a temporary break from the industry, he wants to move to a foreign village and lead a quieter life of cooking and gardening with his wife Robin Dearden.

Another day, another Adrian Lyne revival — except this time, Paramount+ is doing a reboot of one of his past works rather than when Hulu let him run wild with a fun new experiment. "Fatal Attraction" is returning as a series, and the first trailer has just premiered, so get excited.
In the minute-long sneak peek, we meet Josh Jackson's Dan Gallagher and Lizzy Caplan's Alex Forrest, two people who seem to be drawn to one another. Dan is more guarded than Alex, who appears to be an expert in pressing (or pulling) buttons — but as things ramp up, they also seem to spiral out of control.
The streamer is calling the new take "a deep-dive reimagining of the classic psychosexual thriller and '80s cultural touchstone." The original film followed a man and woman who embark on a weekend affair, but the woman just won't let it go and her obsession mounts.

Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds, Beyoncé and Jay-Z, and Barack Obama and Michelle Obama are just a few pairs of celebrity couples that are basically considered unofficial royalty. Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson are another beloved couple that has stolen the spotlight over the years.
Their lasting love and, of course, impressive acting careers aren’t just the only things Hanks and Wilson are well-known for. As many of Hollywood’s A-listers can attest to, the couple has a reputation for throwing dinner parties that can be a bit odd. With that being said, what exactly is happening at Hanks and Wilson‘s dinner parties?
