“Life is a whirlwind. When there’s disaster to deal with, who are we?” Athena’s (Angela Bassett) voiceover asks over the 9-1-1 Season 7 teaser. This new video does a great job of introducing these heroes—it’s aptly set to that song by David Bowie—to people who might be seeing them for the first time; the drama has moved over to ABC after six seasons at Fox. Season 7 will premiere on Thursday, March 14 at 8/7c, leading into Grey’s Anatomy and Station 19 (returning for its final season). The teaser, which you can watch above, shows what we’ve seen in previous ones: an explosion on a cruise ship, which has to be the one Bobby (Peter Krause) and Athena got on at the end of Season 6, and it beginning to sink. But now we get a look at the 118, with at least Hen (Aisha Hinds) in the Los Angeles Fire Department chopper,...

This Friday, November 17, 2023, at 9:00 Pm on USA, “9-1-1” returns with an intense new episode titled “Tomorrow.” In this action-packed series, viewers are plunged into the high-stress world of emergency responders.
In this upcoming episode, the central focus is on Hen, a dedicated paramedic who fears for her wife Karen’s life. The reason for her concern is a terrifying explosion that rocks Karen’s science lab. What makes this situation even more heart-wrenching is that it happens on the very day she brings Denny, presumably their child, to work with her.
The explosion sets off a chain of events that will keep viewers on the edge of their seats. As Hen grapples with the uncertainty of Karen’s safety, the emergency responders face a race against time to save lives and navigate the chaos that unfolds.
“9-1-1” is known for its adrenaline-pumping, true-to-life scenarios, and “Tomorrow” promises to deliver another gripping installment.

The latest season of 9-1-1 has come and gone, and to say it was a ride would be an understatement.
After a thrilling start, the season lost its footing, with a handful of hours toward the end that didn't quite feel as satisfying as those earlier installments. 9-1-1 Season 6 Episode 18 especially had us spinning our wheels, with an ending that felt rushed and awkward at times.
But there was still a lot to love about the season overall and a lot to look forward to as the series found new life in the eleventh hour, and we will return for another season on a new network.
TV Fanatics and 9-1-1 enthusiasts Whitney Evans and Jasmine Blu chatted about the season, what worked and what didn't, and what they need to see when the series returns.

Well, that was certainly a stressful season finale.
9-1-1 Season 6 didn't open with a big, high-stakes emergency like it did in seasons past and decided instead to end their sixth effort with a full-on bridge collapse that saw nearly every member of the 118 in grave peril.
9-1-1 Season 6 Episode 18 was a somewhat different kind of finale, as it swayed heavily on the action and chose to shy away from the personal. And depending on your preference, you either loved it or were left feeling a little underwhelmed.
As far as emergencies go, this one felt like the 9-1-1 of old, which often seemed to spare no expense when it came to going full throttle with their biggest rescues.
The bridge collapse came about reasonably quickly from when we met Mallory and Jo to when everything went downhill, literally.

[Warning: The below contains Major spoilers for the 9-1-1 Season 6 finale “Pay It Forward.”] 9-1-1 ends its run on Fox with just the type of finale we’ve come to expect from the drama. Almost the entire 118 is injured when an overpass collapses: Buck’s (Oliver Stark) face is bloody, Hen (Aisha Hinds) has a concussion, Eddie (Ryan Guzman) has broken ribs, Chimney (Kenneth Choi) is impaled, and Bobby (Peter Krause) has a probable AC joint sprain. They’re all back at work by the end. As for their personal lives, Buck — who delivers Kameron (Chelsea Kane) and Connor’s (Colin McCalla) baby on his couch — and Natalia (Annelise Cepero) are giving it a try; Eddie calls Marisol (Edy Ganem) and sets up a date; Hen and Karen (Tracie Thoms) are fostering a baby girl; Chimney and Maddie (Jennifer Love Hewitt) are planning their wedding at home; and Bobby and Athena (...

Note: This story contains spoilers from the “9-1-1” Season 6 finale.
Filming for the Season 6 finale of “9-1-1” pushed Oliver Stark to the limit, and that’s just how he likes it.
The first responder drama took a massive swing with its final episode at Fox, featuring a massive overpass collapse that put the lives of the entire crew of station 118 in danger. A mildly injured Buck (Stark) — who saw his own life hanging in the balance after being struck by lightning earlier this season — got to help rescue his teammates, including performing an elaborate stunt where he repelled back and forth to save people stuck in an ambulance hanging off the collapsed piece of highway.
“That was one long take!” Stark shared with TheWrap. “I was pretty bruised and battered and exhausted by the end of the day, but also felt very accomplished and it was a lot of...

The 118 is Down!
And it's not looking good. 9-1-1 Season 6 Episode 18 has the whole 118 in disarray and seemingly separated amidst a massive emergency that has Los Angeles in a state of chaos.
In this clip exclusive to TV Fanatic, we see Athena arrive on the scene, and she’s about to get some news she’s not prepared for.
You never know what you’ll get with a season finale.
It could be all sunshine and rainbows, or a massive overpass collapse could shut the freeway down!

And as you’ll see in this clip, things are bad for our favorite crew.
The 118 is used to big-time rescues, but typically they do all the rescuing.

The 118 is the emergency in the 9-1-1 Season 6 finale, and it’s really not looking good in the aftermath, as you can see in TV Insider’s exclusive sneak peek. (We thought things looked dire in the photos!) In “Pay It Forward” (the last episode to air on Fox before the move to ABC for Season 7), a series of freeway car accidents leads to a catastrophic overpass collapse that endangers the lives of civilians and members of the 118. At least it looks like Buck (Oliver Stark), whom we see first in the tense clip, is Ok (relatively speaking) after the collapse, when he comes to on top of the ambulance. Hen (Aisha Hinds), inside, however, is a different story: She’s unconscious. “118, report in. I need a head count,” Buck says over the radio. Ravi’s (Anirudh Pisharody) the only one up top and responds that he’s grabbing the ropes.

You'd think an hour about love would be more…cheerful?
But this is 9-1-1, the series that excels in capturing the ups and downs of the human experience. So, just like in real life, not every proposal goes as planned, and maybe an unforeseen complication keeps you from getting to the church on time on the day of your wedding.
9-1-1 Season 6 Episode 17 was all about the many highs and lows of that little thing called love, and there were definitely some lows.
For a penultimate episode, this one was uneventful in terms of setting us up for the finale, sans maybe Buck and Eddie's romantic prospects. But let's save that rant for the end.
Love Was in the air for Maddie and Chimney, who didn't have a conversation but did make an important life choice.

Next week’s finale marks 9-1-1‘s last episode on Fox before making the jump to ABC for Season 7, and if Monday’s eventful hour is any indication, it’s going to be a biggie.

At this point, the only one standing in the way of Chimney (Kenneth Choi) and Maddie’s (Jennifer Love Hewitt) future happiness might just be the firefighter himself. He still doesn’t know if he should propose in TV Insider’s exclusive sneak peek of the May 8 episode of 9-1-1. The previous episode saw him excited about it: He’d picked out the ring, he’d shown it off to the rest of the 118 (and everyone had opinions on the proposal itself and even the wedding), and he and Hen (Aisha Hinds) cleared the air after she shared her concerns. But then he lost the ring, he and Hen searched the landfill from a call — and ended up in the back of Athena’s (Angela Bassett) squad car— and he’d decided it was a sign. Little did he know, his and Maddie’s daughter Jee-Yun had it and put it in her dollhouse.

If you thought the road to a Chimney and Maddie would be easy, then this must have been a rough hour for you.
9-1-1 Season 6 Episode 16 was heavy on Chimney's indecision as he wavered back and forth whether or not now was the time to propose to Maddie. And the flip-flopping was a lot at times, for both the audience and Hen, in particular.
It was an odd hour.
I questioned the decision to have Chimney suddenly be struck with the idea of marriage after that accountant brought it up on 9-1-1 Season 6 Episode 15.
And this episode did very little to make me feel better about it because Chimney and Maddie had no significant conversation during the installment. Not a single one!
Instead, we had multiple discussions between Chimney and Hen, often very similar, as Chimney worked through the nerves that set in when he realized the magnitude of a proposal.

When the 118 race to a commercial bakery on 9-1-1 Season 6 Episode 14, a woman caught inside an industrial mixer is quite the surprise.

It's been a minute since we got an overstuffed hour of 9-1-1.
While some of the character's personal journeys have taken center stage recently, 9-1-1 Season 6 Episode 13 was a sort of return to form, as everyone got a little time, and they sprinkled some emergencies throughout.
It wasn't all fun and games, but it was a good time and a nice change of pace from some of the heavier material.
That's not to say the more serious content isn't great because there have been many strengths during 9-1-1 Season 6, which overall has been very enjoyable, with solid arcs that reminded me of some of the earlier 9-1-1 seasons.
"Mixed Feelings" was a return to form as it leaned into absurdity at times and gave us all the feel-good and funny moments we've come to love.
That's not to say it's perfect, but we'll get into everything.

[Warning: The below contains Major spoilers for 9-1-1 Season 6 Episode 13, “Mixed Feelings.”] The latest 9-1-1 had so many moments that we loved: Chimney (Kenneth Choi) talking to Denny (Declan Pratt); Buck (Oliver Stark) and Eddie (Ryan Guzman) playing poker with some familiar faces to test out the former’s new cognitive abilities; Maddie (Jennifer Love Hewitt) and Chimney having Athena (Angela Bassett) and Bobby (Peter Krause) over for a dinner that should become a weekly event. But most importantly, Hen (Aisha Hinds) and Karen (Tracie Thoms) found out their son has been spending time with his birth father Nathaniel (Troy Winbush) in the worst way possible. Denny nearly slips up about Nathaniel in the aforementioned conversation with Chimney about fathers. The kid takes from that discussion that the first responder did what he needed to for himself when it came to his own dad. Chimney’s bestie probably wouldn’t be 100 percent on board with that if she ...
