Exclusive: In a deal with True Colours, Breaking Glass Pictures has acquired North American rights to Mario Martone’s Nostalgia, Italy’s entry for the Best International Feature Oscar. Breaking Glass Pictures has snagged North American rights to “Blood-Red Ox,” the first genre pic by award-winning Bolivian director-producer Rodrigo Bellott, now playing at the 18th Santiago International Film Festival (Sanfic) sidebar Visions of the World.
“A mind-bending trip into the depths of myth and madness, Bellott has crafted a haunting tale that pays homage to classic horror films while offering commentary on contemporary environmental and social issues,” said Scott Motisko, Breaking Glass VP of acquisitions, business development and sales, who together with Breaking Glass CEO Rich Wolff negotiated the pact with Ida Martins, CEO of Media Luna.
“We have a longstanding business relationship with Breaking Glass Pictures and couldn’t think of a better outlet for “Blood-Red Ox,” said Martins, adding: “They have been doing an excellent job with all Media Luna previous titles, and we are honored to have one more title in their care.”

Exclusive: Breaking Glass Pictures has acquired U.S. rights to Jump, Darling, an LGBTQ+ family drama featuring the final performance of the late screen icon Cloris Leachman, with plans to release it in theaters and on digital and VOD in March.
The film written and directed by Phil Connell tells the story of Russell (newcomer Thomas Duplessie), an aspiring actor otherwise known for his drag persona, Fishy Falters. Philadelphia-based Breaking Glass Pictures (Bgp) has snagged North American rights to fantasy narrative drama “Nocturna: Side A – The Great Old Man’s Night” and its complementary docu-fiction hybrid, “Nocturna: Side B – Where Elephants Go to Die” from U.K. world sales agent Alief.
Breaking Glass plans a fourth quarter 2021 release for the “Nocturna” films.
As envisioned by Argentine writer-director Gonzalo Calzada, “Nocturna: Side A…” turns on a nearly 100-year-old man who struggles to atone for the transgressions he has committed in his life. In “Nocturna: Side B…,” Calzada explores an experimental version of the same story.
“Director Calzada’s tense and haunting new film masterfully captures our natural fears of growing old and the hope for redemption from past misdeeds before it’s too late,” said Scott Motisko, Breaking Glass VP of Acquisitions, Businesses Development & Sales. “Pepe Soriano is exceptional as Ulysses, bringing a delicate balance of fragility and sorrow...
