Update: The full list has been revealed and can be seen below.
Original Post: With the Amsterdam Dance Event now underway, it’s time for the DJ Mag Top 100 to be revealed. As much of a joke as the list has become lately, we all still look forward to it each and every year and though it doesn’t hold too much legitimacy in the eyes of true dance music fans, it’s always interesting to see who ends up coming out on top.
Leaks and rumors have pointed to Martin Garrix emerging as #1 for 2016, something which would certainly make sense given the huge year he’s had. Not to mention he’s also been releasing new tracks left, right and centre this week. With the awards show now streaming live from the Heineken Music Hall, it shouldn’t be too much longer before we figure out whether or not...

In case there was any shadow of a doubt that Dreamstate SoCal was a success, Insomniac Events has released a 2016 lineup that more than proves otherwise. Last year marked the inaugural edition of the all-trance festival, and this year’s roster consists of more than three times as many acts.
SoCal trance family will delight in the return of 2015 favorites such as Paul van Dyk, John O’Callaghan, Ace Ventura and Giuseppe Ottaviana – the latter of whom will perform alongside fellow “pure trance” advocate Solarstone as Pure Nrg. MaRLo, Vini Vici and John Askew are among Dreamstate SoCal’s 2016 additions, as well as Infected Mushroom, who will perform a special psytrance set.
Once again, Dreamstate SoCal will grace the Nos Event Center in San Bernardino, California on November 25th and 26th. For the spectacle that it was last year, the festival’s organizers will surely allow photos of staging and...

When Insomniac Events announced the addition of a Trance based festival to their brand last year, they probably didn’t anticipate the demand their new event would incur among dance music fans. Dreamstate has already enjoyed two successful events in California, as well as a number of standalone festivals and the recent announcement that the San Bernardino show would be receiving two additional stages this year. Now, Insomniac is gearing up to bring the Trance festival to the east coast.
This fall, Dreamstate will see its debut event in Brooklyn, New York. For its first event, the Brooklyn edition will feature a single stage, similar to the original San Bernardino incarnation. A number of DJs for Dreamstate New York have already been confirmed, with major talent like Markus Schulz, Infected Mushroom, John 00 Fleming and Astrix slated to perform.
The festival will kick off August 26 and 27 at Brooklyn Hangar, and tickets go on sale Friday,...

Backwoods Music Festival may be one of the more out-of-the-way options for modern day festival goers, but its organizers have found ways to make it an even bigger spectacle. This week, they released the official lineup for the 2016 edition that makes that of last year look minuscule by comparison.
Where last year’s roster was topped by the names Odesza, Porter Robinson and Infected Mushroom, this year’s installment will feature performances by the likes of Nero, Big Gigantic, and Nahko and Medicine For The People. Autograf, Hippie Sabotage and Illenium also stand out among the dozens of other artists slated to perform at Backwoods Music Festival, which will place redoubled emphasis on side activities and production elements in 2016.
Backwoods Music Festival will take place from September 2nd-4th at Tatanka Ranch in Stroud, Oklahoma. After looking at the full lineup announcement below, make a trip down to the comments...

After much ado about the DJ Mag Top 100 DJs and the particularly controversial #1 entry, it appears as though the publication decided to give some exposure to its much-deserving runners up – and a significant number of dance music fans feel that the entries on this list ought to have placed on the one that preceded it. DJ Mag released the list of artists who placed from 101-150 according to their vote-based contest, and this list certainly has its fair share of world-class talent.
Among the names on this list are Flume, Fatboy Slim, Maceo Plex, Loco Dice and Seth Troxler. Former DJ Mag #1 Sasha places at #141, and trap duo Flosstradamus brings up the rear at #150.

Rock-influenced Israeli psytrance outfit Infected Mushroom have been quiet on the release front for the past couple years, so it comes as no surprise that they would want to make a bold statement while announcing their upcoming album. The first track they’ve let trickle out is “Fields of Grey,” featuring vocals by none other than adult film actress-turned DJ Sasha Grey.
While capitalizing on the celebrity of a porn star seems an awful lot like something Styles&Complete would do (oh yeah, because they did), Grey’s vocal sample works well within the context of “Fields of Grey.” The heavily edited clips compliment the complextro energy of the rest of the arrangement, which seems oddly akin in production technique to some of Nero’s recent releases.
“Fields of Grey” is one of 15 tracks on Infected Mushroom‘s upcoming album, Converting Vegetarians II – the sequel to their 2003 album Converting Vegetarians.

Perfecto
Infected Mushroom is one of the most well-known and successful names in the electronic dance music (Edm) scene. The duo of producers Erez Eisen and Amit Duvdevani started off in the Goa trance and psychedelic trance genres, and have since added elements of other genres of music into their collection of impressive songs and tracks.
Both Eisen and Duvdev have immense training in classical music, which is an element that’s featured regularly in their musical work. Though they have experimented with a lot of different genres of music over the years, from trip-hop to industrial, to electro house, to dubstep, there are a few essential elements to Im’s signature sound that make them a unique musical act in today’s electronic music scene. Trippy and ‘weird’ sound effects, elongated ‘rises’ that build up each track, inhuman voices and incredibly sharp and metallic synth sounds are abound in Infected Mushroom’s work.

Finally, all the speculation, rumors and heated arguments can come to an end, as DJ Mag has revealed their infamous Top 100 ranking list of the best DJs in the world. Despite being based on popularity rather than talent, people make a pretty deal out of this list every year, and even though it gets a lot of criticism, it’s always fun to see who comes out on top.
Taking to Twitter earlier today, DJ Mag announced the results of their poll and once again, Hardwell emerged victorious, taking the number one spot for the second year in a row. Not far behind him were all the usual suspects (Tiesto, Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, Avicii, Martin Garrix etc.) and overall, this list is mostly what everyone predicted from the start, as it always is.
You can check out Hardwell’s official statement on his win below:
“Wow – this is a dream that just keeps going!
