Evan Mirzai is a WGA Feature & Television writer and producer who founded, owns and operates House of M Productions; a full service film, TV and digital production company based in Beverly Hills. He is a first generation, LGBTQ+ Iranian American, and is also a co-founder of the WGA's Middle Eastern Writers Committee.
Evan graduated from UC Irvine with a degree in Political Science with a focus on International Relations that included an emphasis on the Middle East; he also earned a Certificate in Management from the Paul Merage School of Business. Upon graduating, Evan immediately broke into Hollywood by interning, first, for Golden Globe nominated director Marc Forster (MONSTER'S BALL, WORLD WAR Z) and, second, Laura Ziskin at Sony Pictures (SPIDER-MAN Franchise, Stand Up 2 Cancer) before transitioning into the Coordinator position within the Feature Literary department of The Gersh Agency.
As an emerging scribe, Evan launched his writing career when he was fortunate enough to be voted to Franklin Leonard's annual Black List for the first of four consecutive years from '12-'15. Afterward, Evan and his twin brother joined producer Ben Silverman (THE OFFICE, JANE THE VIRGIN, BLOOD AND TREASURE) to create a sitcom based on the siblings' personal lives.
Evan signed for representation in all departments with Paradigm before transitioning to CAA. In solidarity with his fellow members of the Writers Guild of America (East and West's) efforts to realign agency interests with writers, in 2019, Evan founded his own banner, House of M Productions.
Evan has sold feature screenplays to Will Smith, Sony Pictures, Universal 1440, as well as television projects to National Geographic and Disney Junior. He serves as Executive Producer on Fox and National Geographic's event series ORIGINS: THE JOURNEY OF HUMANKIND; a nearly $20M epic that was recently included as a launch title for Disney+. He also executive produced the Verizon Go90 Series WEB TALES as well as his just recently announced transmedia property: BAD ASS AND BLIND EYE. Evan's latest project to be produced is AMERICAN PIE: GIRLS' RULES for Netflix. Evan is active in politics, is an avid comic book and music fan, and enjoys cooking in his free time.
