A former high-flying businesswoman named Maxine (Brittany Birch) follows her born-again husband Paul (Joe Edward Metcalfe) to a Southern Baptist seminary, after their marriage suffers infidelity. There she enrolls as a student at the Homemaking House, the nation’s premier training ground for wifely duties, facilitated by frenetic Terri (Kirsten Fitzgerald) and shared with her roommate Beth (Alexandra Chopson). When Beth’s fiancee Dusty (Adam Shalzi) arrives, his presence is surprisingly counter intuitive. Meanwhile, Max and Paul remain married.

“Lettie,” a family drama about a woman emerging from prison and addiction with a desire to reclaim the teenage kids who have barely seen her in seven years, is that rare play that manages to be both pessimistic and hopeful, with a central character simultaneously deeply sympathetic and infuriating. Playwright Boo Killebrew, currently a writer on Netflix’s “Longmire,” provides a gorgeously lucid view of a genuine, flawed person trying really hard, or at least thinking she is, whose life trajectory twists based on evolving social forces and family dynamics, combined with an unchanging and problematic personality.
Receiving its world premiere at Victory Gardens Theater under the sharply elegant direction of the theater’s artistic director Chay Yew, “Lettie” is one of those over-the-top superb Chicago theatrical experiences that seems to spring up with little warning every so often — think Tony winners “August: Osage County” and “The Humans” — filled with...

Demons live on in Chicago, but Pazuzu is Rags-less.
The Exorcist Season 1 Episode 10 circled right back around to The Exorcist Season 1 Episode 1 by delivering on the promise of the intricate relationship between Father Tomas and Marcus, rescuing the Rance family and ensuring God was never out of reach.
This was all done masterfully by not only including characters from the original movie, but ensuring the laying the groundwork for what could be an interesting second season (if it's God's will).
It will be a terrible shame if there isn't a second season of The Exorcist, because this ended exactly where I wanted it two upon my first review.
It was initially hard to imagine what trajectory the series would take; if it was to focus on family first, as the showrunner believed it needed to draw in viewers and get them hooked, would it be sustainable?
Now that it's wrapped,...

A dramedy, this series revolves around the work and personal lives of Emt's who work for the Eminent Ambulance Company in Chicago.
Their sometimes silly and self-righteous (even self-destructive) personalities make them unqualified for sustaining relationships, friendships, and most occupations. Thankfully for the citizens of the windy city, they are uniquely qualified for saving anyone who winds up in their ambulance.
