Here's your daily dose of an indie film in progress; at the end of the week, you'll have the chance to vote for your favorite. In the meantime: Is this a movie you'd want to see? Tell us in the comments. "Kickstarted" Tweetable Logline: An original documentary about the crowdfunding revolution. Elevator Pitch: This is the first documentary to look at the crowdfunding revolution and the people powering it. The film will follow the inspiring, dramatic stories of a handful of crowdfunded project creators as they raise money and then, with all of their dreams and social capital on the line, have to deliver. Those journeys are set against the background of a bigger cultural and economic sea change — where the creative/entrepreneurial class can create their own projects independently. The film will also have interviews with Zach Braff, Amanda Palmer, John Vanderslice, Brian Fargo and dozens of other prominent crowdfunding personalities.

A day after video surfaced of Zach Braff discussing why he loves Kickstarter and used it to finance his next project, the founders of the crowdfunding site posted a missive whose title asked a simple but controversial question: Who is Kickstarter for? Perry Chen, Yancey Strickler and Charles Adler note that their “mission is to help bring creative projects to life,” and they argue that goes for anyone. The trio deflected criticism aimed at their service — along with Braff and Veronica Mars creator Rob Thomas — saying that high-profile projects merely “bring new backers to other projects.” Agree or not, the trio is in spin-control mode amid the backlash as crowdsourcing continues to be the latest cyber-Wild West. Watch the lengthy Braff clip, extracted from Jason Cooper and Jay Armitage’s upcoming documentary feature Kickstarted, below: Related: Zach Braff’s ‘Wish I Was Here’ Kickstarter Hits $2 Million Goal In 3 Days ‘Veronica Mars...

After the previous episode saw villain Tommy Volker (Henry Ian Cusick) taken down, it only seemed right that The Mentalist’s true antagonist came to the front in ‘The Red Barn’. But was it up to Season 5’s high standard?
I’d already seen the previews for this episode, so my immediate thoughts upon seeing Jane (Simon Baker) acting shiftily as he hides something in his Attic Of Demons was that he may be making a gift for Lisbon’s (Robin Tunney) 10th anniversary of her time at the Cbi…that didn’t come to pass, but Rigsby (Owain Yeoman) did surprise her with a surprise party, complete with fake-murder victim stripper and Cbi Ron (John Troy Donovan) cameo. Oh, Rigsby. Of course, Lisbon being Lisbon, she stumbled through the party awkwardly and vowed never to forgive her colleague. But she was only kidding…she was kidding right?...

After last week’s big Red John episode, ‘Black Cherry’ took The Mentalist back to its traditional case-of-the-week format on Sunday – with a little bit of Jane’s (Simon Baker) nemesis thrown in for good measure.
The case was fairly standard. The idea of a man trying to escape his past is not a new one by any means, but certainly one that I enjoy. It doesn’t hurt that it shares thematic elements with our favourite Cbi consultant, either. Also, as is seemingly the case a lot these days, I didn’t guess the killer correctly. Well, I did, but I didn’t guess that there were Three killers. As soon as a corporate retreat was mentioned along with a local paper from the same area, I knew the murder would have something to do with ‘what happened’ there.
The best part of this case...
