It is a truth universally acknowledged…that 19th century author Jane Austen wrote some of the all-time great romances. So using her work as a jumping-off point for four Hallmark Channel love stories makes perfect sense. Here are the swoonworthy titles airing every Saturday in “Loveuary” (aka February). Paging Mr. Darcy “I will not be dancing, dressing up or pretending to be a teenaged heroine husband-hunting in a dead century,” declares scholar Eloise (Mallory Jansen), scoffing that the conference she’s attending is less of an academic event and more “like Comic-Con for Jane Austen fans.” But once she’s assigned a “guest of honor liaison” outfitted as Pride and Prejudice’s Mr. Darcy, Eloise starts to realize her own, er, prejudices may be why she’s still alone. Love & Jane Hallmark faves Alison Sweeney and Benjamin Ayres headline a charmer about star-crossed loves. Sweeney stars as Lilly, a...

Hallmark Channel is celebrating the most romantic month of the year with a full slate of new movies. For 2024, the network’s “Loveuary” lineup has a special theme, with four movies inspired by the work of Jane Austen, including a new adaptation of Sense and Sensibility. Keep reading for our rundown of the Hallmark movie schedule for February 2024.
‘Paging Mr. Darcy’
Professor Eloise Cavendish (Mallory Jansen) is a Jane Austen scholar invited to give a talk at an annual conference about the famous author. But the event combines serious scholarship with fandom, and Eloise isn’t sure how her work – which focuses on the role of money, not love in Austen’s novels – will be received. Nor is she impressed when she meets Sam (Will Kemp), the event’s official Mr. Darcy. But Eloise and Sam soon discover that they have more in common than they first thought.

Bob Lee Swagger remains one of the most badass television characters ever.
The USA Network series, Shooter, was one of the finest, coming at a time when the cable network ran supreme with endless content for everyone's viewing.
With slick action sequences, subterfuge, and adrenaline-pumping thrills, the series, more often than not, was a must-see summer show for three seasons until its unfortunate cancellation.
TV Fanatic followed along with the journey from beginning to end with full coverage in our Shooter Reviews. It is still a perfectly binge-able series that you can stream on Netflix, at least until June 21, when Netflix loses the rights for it.
It bolstered an impressive cast led by none other than Ryan Phillippe. But where is the cast now? Let's find out!
Jaina Lee Ortiz - Angela Tio
Ortiz had a small arc during Shooter Season 2, guest-starring as Angela Tio, a sergeant Bob Lee served with during the Marines.

This post contains spoilers for "Ted Lasso" season 3 as well as "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D."
Zava: The man, the myth, the legend. The latest teammate to join AFC Richmond, the plucky team at the heart of "Ted Lasso," is none other than a fictional football great with an enigmatic presence and a flair for the dramatic. Zava (Maximilian Osinski) declared his intentions to join the team at the end of the season's second episode, right as he was about to very publicly sign on to the Chelsea roster. We don't know much about Zava yet, except that he eats too much asparagus, parades around in a man-bun and fur coat, and is able to easily hold the attention of soccer fans and players worldwide.
After the Richmond players and coaches hyped him so much ahead of his appearance, I expected Zava's role to end up being a bit of stunt casting,...

Mallory Jansen takes on another role in the Hallmark universe this weekend in Francesca Quinn, Pi.
When Frankie's fiance is murdered, his sister hires her to find his killer. But solving the crime means working with her ex.
We jumped on the phone with Mallory to talk about the movie and working with Hallmark. Enjoy the conversation.
I've got a couple things before we start talking about Francesca Quinn. First of all, I was so excited about the possibility of that show Triangle, and it never got made. And it still bums me out.
Oh my gosh. I know. I'm so sad about that, we all were. It was a very large-scale pilot and yeah, we got to shoot in New Zealand for five weeks. It was the most beautiful place I've ever been.
But yeah, I never saw the pilot. I was so sad. I think that's the saddest part,...

[Warning: The below contains Major spoilers for The Big Leap Episode 2 “Classic Tragic Love Triangle.”] In just two episodes, Fox’s newest reality-show-within-a-fictional-dramedy The Big Leap serves classic tropes of not getting the part, romantic jealousy, and a drama-inducing producer who is constantly feeding an already rampant fire. All the while, we take in each character’s individual troubles and watch as their formerly ostracized lives begin to bleed together within the confines of a soundstage dance studio. Sporadic dance routines (sometimes fueled by the drama and other times used to cool off the heat) add a charming musical theater aspect, and snappy pandemic-related humor balances out the comedy leg of the dramedy. Below, we take a look at the new Fox series through a dancer’s perspective. The Auditions In the premiere, the audition montage is comfortingly familiar. We file through comically tragic auditions from a variety of characters — which provoke choreographer Monica Sullivan’s (Mallory Jansen...

Newcomer Simone Recasner is proud to represent body diversity in the upcoming Fox comedy The Big Leap, something she wishes she’d seen on TV growing up.
“Playing Gabby, she’s somebody who I can relate to on such a profoundly deep level,” Recasner shared during the show’s TCA press day on Wednesday. “We’re meeting her at a time where she’s decided to do the exact opposite of what the world and her brain and everybody really have told her how to act her whole life. And so, having this chance to represent somebody that frankly, I didn’t have growing up… .”
She continued: “I couldn’t ever see myself being on network television as an actor because I didn’t see myself represented. So when this story came around and they were real about having a big, curvy, plus-size body dance — because there are amazing curvy...

On Saturday, a number of key creatives behind The Big Leap appeared for a virtual Atx panel, teasing the first season of their ballet-themed dramedy, which was just picked up to series in April.
Actress Teri Polo described the show as “this happy, good, hopeful thing”—an underdog story representing the kind of “feel-good” entertainment we all need a bit of right now.
“This show [is one] that doubled down on hope, that was funny, that was about dancing,” added creator-ep Liz Heldens. “I think it’s doing what we wanted it to do.”

Fox announced its fall schedule Monday, revealing that “9-1-1” universe fans will no longer be enjoying the shows back to back in the first half of the 2021-22 season, as spinoff “9-1-1: Lone Star” has been pushed to midseason.
Mondays this fall will still be anchored by “9-1-1” at 8 p.m., but will lead into the new Scott Foley-led drama “The Big Leap” in the 9 o’clock slot. However, that freshman series will wrap by midseason, when “Lone Star” will take over the “9-1-1” slot. Then the “9-1-1” series will be reunited, airing back to back once more, come March.
Fox’s Tuesdays are also seeing a change in pairings, following the recent cancellation of “Prodigal Son.” The now-renewed “The Resident” will keep its 8 o’clock hour, with the first season of Lee Daniels’ drama “Our Kind of People” closing primetime from 9-10.

Scott Foley and Teri Polo are taking a big leap to Fox.
Fox on Wednesday ordered to series a one-hour drama called The Big Leap.
The series was originally ordered to pilot last year, but it was scuppered due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
The project is inspired by the UK docuseries Big Ballet and follows a group of diverse, down-on-their-luck characters attempting to change their lives by participating in a potentially life-ruining reality dance show that builds to a live production of Swan Lake.
What this group of underdogs lack in dance training, they make up for with their edge, wit, and desire to reimagine an iconic story to fit their own mold.

Fox has given a series order to hourlong pilot The Big Leap, starring Scott Foley, Teri Polo and Piper Perabo, from Liz Heldens, Jason Winer, Sue Naegle, 20th Television and Fox Entertainment.
The ballet-themed dramedy, which I hear has received a 10-episode order, had been an internal favorite. The pilot was met with enthusiastic reception by Fox executives which has been compared to the reaction at the network to the Glee pilot more than a decade ago. The pickup completes The Big Leap‘s six-year journey to the screen.

If you're already adrift without another Hallmark Original Series to watch, you're not alone.
But we have good news today as Crown Media announced new original programming and some renewals we've been waiting for.
Most importantly, there are two renewals to announce that join When Calls the Heart for (fingers crossed) a 2021 release.
Good Witch will return for a seventh season, and Chesapeake Shores will return for a fifth season!
Hurrah!
As you know, Good Witch Season 6 just ended on quite the cliffhanger.
It was the first season in which Bailee Madison didn't appear as Grace, and in Rhys Matthew Bond only made guest appearances as Nick.
Without the younger cast, the adults got a lot more storylines, and love flourished.
Cassie (Catherine Bell) and Sam (James Denton) celebrated their one-year anniversary and began to grow under each other's influence.
The proved that there is always something left to learn about your partner.
