“America’s Got Talent” took a break from the regular season 18 programming on July 25 with a two-hour showcase of Simon Cowell‘s most memorable acts from “AGT” and “Britain’s Got Talent” seasons past. In the episode, Simon sits down with Terry Crews to count down his top 16 favorite first auditions. Simon explained that he was tasked with compiling a list of 15, but there was one other act he couldn’t not include so he pushed the list to 16!
Season 18 auditions will resume next week on August 1 with “Auditions 8.” We are still expecting a final Golden Buzzer act to be selected by Sofia Vergara. In the season premiere, Simon led the panel in handing out the first ever Audience Golden Buzzer to Mzansi Youth Choir from South Africa. Simon gave the Golden Buzzer to 17 year old Indonesian pianist and singer Putri Ariani in episode 2. Then, in episode 3, Terry descended the stage to...

I have to admit that I was thoroughly disappointed with the ‘squirrel games’ acting channel on last week’s episode and to be honest it was not down to the queen’s performances themselves. While the queens did seem to struggle during the rehearsal process, their individual performances were mostly entertaining but the biggest problem I had with the challenges was the script itself. I don’t know who writes these challenges but the entire sketch was crammed full of random pop culture moments that did not really make sense in the overall narrative. We saw characters inspired by Bear Grylls, Kim Woodburn and Ashley and Pudsey from Britain’s Got Talent in a Big Brother-style competition run by a killer squirrel that hosted murderous Squid Games-style challenges. On top of this, there was also dialogue that paid homage to viral videos, Drag Race references and many other pop culture phenomena.

It’s crazy to think that has been almost four years since the first ever season of Ru Paul’s Drag Race UK was announced which shone a light on a much more British version of drag. I think when this show was first announced there was concern amongst the fans that the Drag Race format would overlook the much more camp and entertaining style of drag that British queens have become synonymous with. We are now in the fourth season of the show and people are starting to realise that the UK queens can easily stand toe to toe with many of the American competitors. In fact winner of that first-ever UK season, The Vivienne, put up an incredible fight during the international, all-winners season this year, proving that British queens are just as talented as their American counterparts. It is clear however that Ru herself did not have...

Children in Need’s history of Doctor Who specials dates back to a time before Pudsey Bear even existed. Feature-length special ‘The Five Doctors’ was first aired in the UK during the 1983 Children in Need telethon, a full two years before Pudsey became the charity’s official mascot.
Doctor Who has a rich tradition of supporting BBC charities – including a 1999 Comic Relief special penned by none other than Steven Moffat – and there have been six further Doctor Who specials for Children in Need in the three decades since ‘The Five Doctors’.
They range from the sublime – aka ‘Time Crash’ in 2007…
…to the ridiculous. And we mean really, brilliantly ridiculous:
Some Doctor Who fans never really got over the 1993 ‘Dimensions in Time’ special, a set of two mini episodes which aired on consecutive nights, the first on Children in Need and the second on the 1990s Saturday night fever dream known as Noel’s House Party.

Despite being one of the most successful “America’s Got Talent” winners of all time, teen ventriloquist Darci Lynne Farmer was shockingly eliminated in the second episode of spinoff series “America’s Got Talent: The Champions.” Of the 10 acts from around the world who performed on Monday, January 14, one advanced thanks to Heidi Klum‘s Golden Buzzer (extreme knife throwers Deadly Games) and the other was voted through thanks to the Superfan voters (opera/rock singer Cristina Ramos). Did the Superfans goof by sending home Darci? Vote down in our poll below.
See Will Darci Lynne Farmer return to ‘America’s Got Talent: The Champions’ as a wild card?
The 14-year-old Oklahoma native, who recently hosted her own Christmas special, took to the stage with her adorably sassy mouse puppet Oscar, who joked that “Agt” judge Simon Cowell was “wearing the same clothes” that he did two years ago. Since...

After winning “Britain’s Got Talent” in 2012, dog act Ashleigh and Pudsey traveled the world and even starred in a movie, “Pudsey: The Movie.” Unfortunately, as trainer Ashleigh Jade Butler reveals in the second episode of “America’s Got Talent: The Champions,” her lovable Border Collie passed away of cancer in 2017. Following his death a new dynamic duo was formed — Ashleigh and Sully — and they’re now competing on NBC’s “Agt: Champions” spinoff series. Unfortunately, they were eliminated after their first appearance. Watch their performance above from the January 14 episode.

“America’s Got Talent: The Champions” kicked off last week with the return of Susan Boyle to the franchise that launched her career. He won the most votes from the superfans, a group of long-time viewers of “Agt” drawn from all 50 states. They attended tapings of these episodes featuring 50 acts drawn from around the world.

This tale of talking mutts, voiced by minor celebrities, is a mirthlessly cynical cinematic chew toy
Should you require further evidence of western cultural decadence, consider the staggering hours moviemakers have logged filming dogs doing things dogs aren’t generally inclined to do: playing competitive sports, seeking Simon Cowell’s approval (Pudsey), rolling over for second billing behind long-eclipsed humanoid stars. Show Dogs hails from that good-cop-dog-cop line that once begat Turner and Hooch and K-9 – but its Usp is that the mutts now bark back with (minor) celebrity voices. If your actual dog were this lame, you’d be making ominous arrangements with the vet, not hustling everybody towards the cinema.

From the Pudsey The Dog movie to Joe Cornish and Roger Ebert, what happens when critics make films themselves?
Arts critics tend to get a rough time of it in the movies. Even looking at this year's awards season hopefuls, Birdman casts a wonderfully scabrous Lindsay Duncan as a theatre critic who is determined to kill the hero's play, and Mr. Turner presents John Ruskin as a lisping, pretentious fop, a representation that has led some to take mild umbrage.
To look even further back, at Ratatouille's sneering Anton Ego, or Lady In The Water's film-savvy 'straw critic', or Theatre Of Blood's gleefully murderous tract, there's not a whole lot of love for critics in film. Any of this might give way to the preconception that critics, especially film critics, don't actually like films and that they're out of touch with both the filmmakers whose works they...

Now I don’t know about you, but sitting down and conversing with a dog is nothing new, nor particularly strange for us. What is strange, however, is when it’s with the nation’s most renowned canine, in a room full of people filming.
Nonetheless, that’s exactly what we did, when interviewing former Britain’s Got Talent winners Pudsey the Dog and his trainer Ashleigh, ahead of the former’s debut feature film. While Ashleigh is not actually in the movie herself, it’s safe to say she did most of the talking in this instance…

At the time of being crowned winner of Britain’s Got Talent back in 2012, Pudsey the dog – alongside his trainer Ashleigh – had the reputation and pedigree (no pun intended), to pull in the crowds with their own feature length movie. However before hitting the big screen, there needs to be a script written, then financing needs to be found. Then there is the casting, the shoot itself – not to mention the arduous post-production process. So eventually, by the time the film is finally ready for viewing, you can’t help but wonder if there is actually anybody left who is still bothered.
Nonetheless, what can’t be denied is the good-natured sense of adventure, as we watch on as Pudsey (voiced by Britain’s Got Talent judge David Walliams), is taken in by Gail (Jessica Hynes) and her three children, offering this once stray dog shelter and a family. Pudsey...

He was the king of improv comedy. Now he's playing second fiddle to a dancing dog. What happened? John Sessions talks about stage fright, voting Ukip and life after the 'twinkly years'
John Sessions is drinking coffee and making a call on a prehistoric mobile phone when I arrive at the Soho hotel where we are having lunch. Sessions holds it up proudly. "I don't have an iPhone, I don't do apps," he exclaims. At 61, he has embraced bufferdom. Grey-haired and wearing large spectacles, he looks like Ronnie Barker, or a retired colonel you might run into at a golf club in Surrey.
He admits it, rejoices in it. "I rang the BBC the other day," he tells me. "I'm sick to the back teeth of hearing people say 'mitigate against'. 'Militate' is the verb. Martha Kearney did it. I said: 'Will you please tell Ms Kearney, it's militate.'" He votes Ukip,...

Britain's Got Talent winner Pudsey might have his own movie coming out - but it seems he's already schmoozing with the celebrities.
We can't imagine a more awkward moment than the time when Pudsey met Kanye West - and thank you so much to his owner Ashleigh for sharing it with Hello.
While Ashleigh didn't reveal too much about the encounter, she did say: "I don't think Kanye was too happy about it. Pudsey jumped into his arms so he didn't really have a choice!"
