This Zom 100 review contains spoilers.
“We could die today or we could die 60 years from now. Either way, there’s never enough time to do all the things we want.”
If there’s one subgenre that’s been done to death–literally–it’s zombies and even anime haven’t been immune to undead epidemics. The wealth of zombie content has made it difficult to find fresh angles that say something new about the genre. The circumstances behind Zom 100’s zombie apocalypse are hardly spectacular and fail to reinvent the wheel in this department. That being said, Zom 100’s goal isn’t to create the next great zombie horror story. It’s, in fact, a pitch black comedy about the crushing nature of the corporate world and how awful the world is when you hate your job.
Zom 100, through this malaise, uses an undead invasion as the ultimate wakeup call...

The fall 2022 anime season is jam-packed with anticipated shows, from returning franchises with surprising new takes, to new seasons of beloved shows and more. However, here is arguably no bigger or more anticipated premiere than "Chainsaw Man."
Based on the manga sensation of the same name by Tatsuki Fujimoto, the hype for this show is on the same level as something like the final season of "Attack on Titan," despite it only just airing its first episode. The "Chainsaw Man" anime comes from Studio Mappa, and is directed by Ryū Nakayama (the spectacular 19th episode of "Jujutsu Kaisen"), with scripts by Hiroshi Seko ("Attack on Titan"). "Devilman Crybaby" composer Kensuke Ushio is handling the soundtrack.
In its premiere, "Chainsaw Man" essentially adapts the very first chapter of the manga, which is more about introducing us to our main character than the plot or world of the show. In truth, this...

One of the most anticipated anime series of the year is finally here. Acclaimed animation studio Mappa adapts Tatsuki Fujimoto‘s massively popular series, bringing its quirky blend of humor and ultra-violence to the small screen. If the premiere episode is any indicator, expect a wild and extremely gory road ahead for the inaugural season of Chainsaw Man.
Denji (Kikunosuke Toya) isn’t your average teen. Not only has his father’s debt left him in an impoverished state, where he’s selling his body parts to pay it off, but he’s also made a pact with an adorable chainsaw devil, Pochita (Shiori Izawa). When not selling off his bits and possessions to survive, Denji earns cash selling the corpses of other devils. When Denji gets betrayed and left for dead, he gets a second chance when he’s revived as “Chainsaw Man” – a man with a devil’s heart.

After a successful box office run, "Jujutsu Kaisen 0" is now streaming on Crunchyroll. The film serves as a prequel to "Jujutsu Kaisen," which is headed towards its second season after an acclaimed freshman outing. Both projects are engaging, brutal pieces of anime that have been propelled into popularity by their tight writing and jaw-dropping animation. "Jujutsu Kaisen" is able to keep its audience glued to the screen on a weekly basis, while the movie adaptation delivers a more contained experience that could serve as an introduction to the world Itadori and his friends inhabit.
Shockingly enough, the writer behind "Jujutsu Kaisen 0" has revealed that the anime adaptation is actually inspired by two seminal pieces of live-action television. One may not think of "Breaking Bad" and "The Walking Dead" when watching Jujutsu Sorcerers battle Curses for the fate of the world, but the people behind the anime certainly did.

"Jujutsu Kaisen 0" is finally available to stream on Crunchyroll after a successful theatrical release. The prequel film tells the story of Yuta Okkotsu, a special-grade sorcerer, before the events of the anime's first season. With a highly anticipated second season on the way, "Jujutsu Kaisen" is more popular than ever.
A large part of the success of "Jujutsu Kaisen" is Studio Mappa, the animation studio behind the anime adaptation. Without the hard work of the animation team bringing Akutami's vivid fights to life from page to screen, there would be no Jujutsu Kaisen anime, let alone one as stylish and visceral as we got.
According to the animation team behind the film and the series, animating the fight scenes is easy; the more high-concept ideas and original material not in the manga are the hard parts. With how much a manga like "Jujutsu Kaisen" uses exposition to explain concepts like cursed techniques,...

The 2022 anime year has given us an abundance of riches. We already had an incredible winter season with so many good shows it was nearly impossible to just pick a few of them, and even the relatively smaller spring and summer seasons had memorable shows. Now, though, fall 2022 is about to "Revenge of the Sith" the anime year with a full-on massacre of the Jedi younglings in terms of how many good shows are coming out. There's potential banger after potential banger about to be unleashed, from hugely anticipated new shows, to returning champs, a massive franchise making its triumphant return, and even a few hidden gems that can break big.
What's more, after the Crunchyroll-Funimation merger, it's never been easier to find an anime to watch, because the vast majority of them are all streaming in a single service. With dozens of shows to choose from, it can be...

Fight for the future of mankind.
A great civilization once existed on this Earth. Possessing knowledge and scientific prowess far exceeding that of modern man, the relics of this ancient civilization remain hidden across this world even now. As high-speed communications networks cover the globe and the peering eyes of satellites are able to expose all secrets, the armies of great nations clash as they seek to uncover and research these artifacts, which possess an unfathomable “power”. A member of this ancient civilization carved a message into a plate: “Protect our relics from evil-doers.” Taking this message to heart, one organization aims to seal away this ancient civilization for good.
The elite secret agents of this organization are known as… Spriggans.

The much awaited last season of one of the most successful series of the decade signaled a number of changes. Mappa Studio took over the production, which was chief directed by Jun Shishido, and directed by Yuichiro Hayashi, replacing Tetsuro Araki and Masashi Koizuka respectively. Scriptwriter Hiroshi Seko took over the series composition from Yasuko Kobayashi, and Tomohiro Kishi replaced Kyoji Asano as character designer. Furthermore, the beginning of the series takes place four years after the events of the third, and the focus, this time, is on the situation on Marley, following Gabi Braun and Falco Grice, young Eldian Warrior candidates seeking to inherit Reiner’s Armored Titan after the failed mission to claim the Founding Titan. As Marley’s dominance over competing nations begins to weaken due to the development of anti-titan weaponry, they plan to invade Paradis to develop their military using the resources on the island...

In another of this year’s original anime series (not based on a manga that is), the creators of “Deca-Dence” try to do something radically different with their title, combining a number of trademark elements with a rather complex and unusual main premise which also extends to the drawing and animation of the series.
In the latter part of the 2400s, air pollution reached lethal levels. As humanity hurtled toward extinction, they were also threatened by the emergence of life forms known as Gadoll, causing the extinction of 90% of the world’s population. Large corporations developed cyborgs to carry out human functions, but the cyborgs eventually began to outnumber humans and the Solid Quake Corporation acquired rights to manage humanity. The company created a giant dome on the Eurasian continent in which they installed a colossal entertainment facility called Deca-dence, with its own independent all-governing system to make all decisions.
