The Republican National Committee’s head of election security, Christina Bobb, a former attorney of Donald Trump, has been receiving ridiculed on social media following her arraignment for trying to overturn the 2020 presidential election results in Arizona by sending a slate of fake electors from the state.
Bobb was a lawyer for Trump’s 2020 presidential campaign. When she worked for One America News, she reported on an audit of the Arizona election results while also raising money for the audit.
From there, the former Trump lawyer became a part of the fake elector plot and the “command center” at the Willard Hotel in Washington, D.C., during the Capitol attack on January 6, 2021.
Her mugshot was taken this week after she and ten other people who appeared in court virtually were arraigned at a Maricopa County, Arizona, courthouse. At the same time, she pleaded not guilty to the charges against her.

After Jeremy Renner was involved in a horrific accident in January 2023, many doubted that the actor would recover, let alone be able to return to work on his Paramount+ series Mayor of Kingstown. Renner had suffered blunt chest trauma and 30 broken bones after being hit and run over by a snowplow on his property. He told Good Morning America that he was too “worried about real life” to think about working on the series but explained that there was a “perspective I had to shift” to make it happen.
“I had to cross the threshold of, ‘Do I want to go tell fictional stories?’ I’m worried about real life — putting a foot in front of another to walk,” Renner said. “I think what happened is we just switched the thinking of the whole thing. I didn’t go to Pittsburgh to film Mayor of Kingstown, I went to go...

In November, Casandra “Cassie” Ventura filed a federal lawsuit against Sean “Diddy” Combs in New York federal court. Her lawsuit includes graphic claims of sexual assault, physical abuse, and an allegation that Combs, her ex-boyfriend, would force her to have sex with male sex workers while he watched. Ventura’s claims are among the worst, but not the first controversy that the music mogul and entrepreneur has been alleged to be involved in.

After creating the critically acclaimed western series Yellowstone, Taylor Sheridan teamed up with actor Hugh Dillon to write his next big show, Mayor Of Kingstown, starring Jeremy Renner in the lead. After gaining a lot of success with fans and critics, the Paramount series has now been renewed for a 3rd season which will air in June 2024.

While the series premiered in 2021, Sheridan wrote the pilot script as early as 2011 even before Yellowstone was conceived. Despite many major production houses and networks showing interest, Sheridan refused to give in owing to one steadfast condition that he had for the series which he was unwilling to compromise on while envisioning it.

Former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani and nearly a dozen other allies of former President Donald Trump have pleaded not guilty to felony charges related to a “fake elector” scheme in Arizona.
The plot allegedly aimed to falsely declare Trump the winner of the 2020 presidential election in the state despite Joe Biden’s clear victory.
Giuliani, who once served as Trump’s personal attorney, appeared at the hearing remotely and without legal representation. His trial date was set for October. Despite his insistence that he was “capable of handling” the proceedings, the judge ordered Giuliani to appear in person within the next 30 days for booking procedures, which include a mugshot.
Additionally, Giuliani was required to post a $10,000 secured-appearance bond, a standard measure for defendants considered flight risks. This could prove challenging for the former mayor, who filed for bankruptcy last year after he lost a $148 million defamation lawsuit.

I’d love to know when Taylor Sheridan finds the time to sleep. Paramount+ has announced that production on Lioness season 2 is now underway in Texas. The espionage thriller series is inspired by an actual U.S. Military program and follows the life of Joe (Zoe Saldaña) while she attempts to balance her personal and professional life as the tip of the CIA’s spear in the war on terror.
In addition to Zoe Saldaña, Lioness season 2 stars Laysla De Oliveira, Genesis Rodriguez, Michael Kelly, Dave Annable, Jill Wagner, Lamonica Garrett, James Jordan, Austin Hébert, Jonah Wharton, Thad Luckinbill, and Hannah Love Lanier. Morgan Freeman and Nicole Kidman round out the star-studded cast. The series is produced by MTV Entertainment Studios and 101 Studios exclusively for Paramount+. As you can see from the image above, Sheridan will be helming the third episode of the new season himself.

‘Queen of the Deuce’ Review: A Fun Footnote About a Behind-The-Scenes Mogul of the Sexual Revolution
Over half a century ago, movies were changing at warp speed, with censorship boundaries falling and artistic ones expanding, as remembered from such game-changers as “Bonnie and Clyde,” “I Am Curious (Yellow)” and “2001: A Space Odyssey.” You probably do not remember the likes of “Whip’s Women,” “Come Ride the Wild Pink Horse,” “Once Upon a Body” or “Scare Their Pants Off!” — and good luck finding them now, since many such disposable late-1960s “adults only” features are assumed lost now. But they, too, made the ’60s “swing,” while making fortunes for individuals like the subject of “Queen of the Deuce.”

Judge Juan Merchan scolded lawyer Robert Costello for his behavior during former President Donald Trump’s New York hush money trial.
On Monday afternoon, Merchan cleared out his Manhattan courtroom of jurors, spectators and the press so that he could dress down at Costello, who was there as a key defense witness for Trump, after he made a frustrated comment about the judge’s rulings, according to a court transcript.
The transcript also mentioned that the lawyer commented under his breath and rolled his eyes.
The judge told Costello that his behavior during testimony was “contemptuous.” Costello frequently angered the judge, in part by speaking after objections were sustained.
“Geez,” the lawyer muttered after Merchan sustained several prosecution objections to his testimony.
He also called the whole exercise “ridiculous.”

Nathalie Emmanuel’s first trip to the Cannes Film Festival was certainly a memorable one.
The “Fast and Furious” franchise star and “Game of Thrones” alum knows what it’s like to be in the spotlight, but Cannes is unique. First, consider the fact that she’s the leading lady in legendary filmmaker Francis Ford Coppola’s longtime passion project “Megalopolis,” which made its world premiere at the festival. Then, there’s the reality of ascending the famed red steps to the Palais des Festivals.

During his 80th birthday party, former New York City mayor Rudy Giuliani was served with a legal notice from Arizona Attorney General Kris Mayes‘ office. On Friday, Giuliani celebrated his birthday at the home of Caroline Wren in Palm Springs, California. The party hosted around 200 guests.
Outside Wren’s home, two officials from Mayes’ office approached Giuliani with a notice of his indictment. Giuliani was involved in an alleged ploy to overturn Arizona’s 2020 presidential election results. The event caused panic among some guests. Some screamed while a woman cried. Spoiler Alert: This article contains details about the narrative of Francis Ford Coppola’s Megalopolis.
Exclusive: One of the many talking points to emerge from this week’s Cannes Film Festival screening of Francis Ford Coppola’s epic Megalopolis is whether distributors will be able to replicate the film’s ‘fourth wall moment’.
As most reviews for the film detail, at a certain point in Wednesday’s world premiere a performer walked onto the stage in front of the cinema screen and engaged with Adam Driver’s character in a device known as “breaking the fourth wall.”
Is it plausible that distributors would replicate such a moment in every screening? Unlikely. But at least one will give it a good shot.
Jean Labadie, who runs the film’s French distributor Le Pacte, told Deadline: “We certainly will do a lot of such performances. With four screenings a day in many...

Through the series Maestro in Blue, streaming on Netflix, we get introduced to the very beautiful little town of Paxos. But while the town is beautiful, the people certainly are not, especially Charalambos. From the get-go, he is clearly the villain of the series. Honestly, if you ask me, I’d call him that. Throughout the whole season, we get hints that someone might murder him. Not going to lie, his death kind of saved some people’s lives, I think, but on the other hand, it ruined others’ lives as well. But what was the motive behind his murder? Was it premeditated or was it sudden? We will get to know it from this article.
Spoilers Ahead
What kind of man was Charalambos?
Charalambos’ character was the most disgusting in the series, in my opinion. Honestly, I hate the man so deeply that his death felt like a blessing in disguise.

Now that the second season has dropped, I think it’s time to get familiar with the interesting characters of the Greek drama series Maestro in Blue. Well, I don’t know if ‘interesting’ is the right word to describe these characters in the series, maybe ‘shady’ would fit better. Paxos, the small town where they live, is quite beautiful, but their lives are far from it. Anyway, enough of my blabbering; let’s see what you think of the characters after getting to know them through this cast and character guide of Maestro in Blue, streaming on Netflix.

The contributions of Black artists to country music have been marginalized, minimized, and, in some cases, wholly erased from the genre’s history. A group of songwriters, singers, activists, and journalists aimed to set the record straight on Wednesday during a live panel discussion in Nashville. Dubbed “Act III: A Conversation Around ‘Three Chords and the Actual Truth,’” the event was presented by the Black Music Action Coalition and the org’s co-founder, president, and CEO, Willie “Prophet” Stiggers.

If you dove head first into Francis Ford Coppola’s Megalopolis, you would get a concussion. The filmmaker’s supposed opus––a glitzy, gargantuan, long-gestating project that he conceived of in the late ‘70s, attempted to make more than once in the ‘80s, rewrote countless times over the last four decades, and eventually self-financed for $120 million due to lack of external support––has had cinephiles like myself drooling over its scope and potential for years. Alas, there is no deep end in this pool.
Don’t let that deter you though. Receive it with a healthy dose of doubt and let it reshape (and perhaps healthily lower) your expectations. Because, at the end of the day, for better and for worse, in awe and in tired confusion, Megalopolis is a garish wonder to behold.

So, to mark its 100th anniversary, Columbia Pictures has teamed with the Municipality of Cannes to put the studio’s instantly recognizable Torch Lady and roster of legendary actresses on full display as part of a free photographic exhibit in the historic city’s town square, just off the Croisette and with the Palais and Mediterranean Sea serving as a backdrop.
The exhibit, dubbed “Lighting the Way: From the Torch Lady to Leading Ladies,” includes outdoor installations emblazoned with Columbia’s longstanding symbol as well as more than 30 rare photographs from the studio’s archive spanning Hollywood’s Golden Age through present day, The photographs include ones of Katherine Hepburn, Deborah Kerr, Claudette Colbert, Ann-Margret, Meryl Streep, Viola Davis, Julia Roberts, Michelle Yeoh, and, naturally, “Gilda” star Rita Hayworth. A restored version of that film is screening this year as part of the festival’s Cannes Classics program.

Francis Ford Coppola shared his thoughts on the current studio system during the Cannes Film Festival press conference for his self-financed epic “Megalopolis,” saying that they might not be around much longer.
“I fear that the film industry has become more of a matter of people being hired to meet their debt obligations because the studios are in great, great debt. And the job is not so much to make good movies, the job is to make sure they pay their debt obligations,” Coppola said in response to a question from Variety. “Obviously, new companies like Amazon and Apple and Microsoft, they have plenty of money, so it might be that the studios we knew for so long, some wonderful ones, are not to be here in the future anymore.”
The presser also veered into the political, with Coppola being asked if the film is a commentary on Donald Trump,...

After months of speculation, the critical book has finally been opened on Francis Ford Coppola’s Megalopolis. The early word? Predominantly positive, with some very high highs and inevitably a few low lows.
Below, we run through some of the first reactions.
Deadline’s Damon Wise praised the movie, calling it a “mad modern masterwork that reinvents the possibilities of cinema”. He said the film is “something of a mess; unruly, exaggerated and drawn to pretension like a moth to a flame. It is also, however, a pretty stunning achievement, the work of a master artist who has taken to Imax like Caravaggio to canvas. It is a true modern masterwork of the kind that outrages with its sheer audacity.”
He continued: “Halfway through, there’s a very audacious gimmick that tears down the fourth wall in ways younger filmmakers can only dream of. Coppola breaks many of the cardinal...

The most awaited film this year at the Cannes Film Festival, Francis Ford Coppola’s Megalopolis, had its world premiere Thursday night, with the dystopian epic decades in the making landing a seven-minute standing ovation.
Coppola, the 85-year-old director and five-time Oscar winners, bowed as the lights came up inside the Grand Theatre Lumiere. He was congratulated by his Cotton Club star Richard Gere and got a hug from Cannes boss Thierry Fremaux as the ovation carried on.
Said Coppola to the crowd finally: “Thank you all so much — it is impossible to find words how I feel.” He then introduced those around him — including his granddaughter and son and collaborator Roman Coppola and sister Talia Shire. He called his cast “family” and emphasized the movie’s end message: “We should pledge allegiance to our families…that children should inherit a beautiful world from us.”

Some 45 years ago, the Cannes Film Festival invited Francis Ford Coppola to bring his latest project to the French Riviera for a special “work-in-progress” screening. The movie’s production had already achieved a mythic status as an example of Murphy’s Law made manifest, from last-minute actor replacements to monsoons to storylines being added, subtracted and rewritten on the fly. Coppola had sunk a lot of his own money into the project, since the studios had been reluctant to finance what seemed like a huge folly. The director had staked...

“When we leap into the unknown, we prove that we are free,” says Cesar Catalina, the futuristic architect at the beating heart of Francis Ford Coppola’s Megalopolis (to give it its full title), a mad eco-sci-fi blockbuster some 40 years in the making. Catalina says it several times, and it’s one of the more succinct aphorisms that he spouts in a script that is stuffed with seemingly random literary allusions from the likes of Petrarch, Crassus and Marcus Aurelius to Goethe, Shakespeare, H.G. Wells and Ralph Waldo Emerson. Watching Anthony Mann’s The Fall of the Roman Empire and eating cheese afterwards would be the only way to replicate its fever-dream grandeur, a series of stunning images, carried along by the loosest of plots, that pontificate on the self-destructive nature of humankind, the only species capable of civilizing itself to death.

It had been reported earlier that Francis Ford Coppola’s newest movie, Megalopolis, was going to be a tricky sell for distributors because, even though there is a definite commercial appeal, there was also an artsy quality to it that might make it seem less accessible to sell to general audiences. However, as the first clip and the teaser trailer have shown, the new film from the Apocalypse Now director has stunningly dynamic cinematography and some very cinematic special effects sequences. It has the look of a grand sci-fi epic, and The Hollywood Reporter has revealed that it will be getting the treatment of a grand cinema epic as the film will be screening in IMAX globally.
IMAX CEO Richard Gelfond addressed the press Thursday as Cannes about Megalopolis. He stated, “The film is going to get an IMAX release. One of the things that we pride ourselves on is being filmmaker-friendly.

Last year, a creative overhaul saw The Punisher's Dario Scardapane replace Matt Corman and Chris Ord as Daredevil: Born Again's showrunner. Now, all signs point to the Marvel Studios series delivering the take on the Man Without Fear we've been waiting to see in the MCU.
TV Line caught up with Charlie Cox and Vincent D'Onofrio at the Upfronts in New York yesterday and asked the former whether the retooling has brought Matt Murdock and Wilson Fisk more in line with Netflix's Daredevil.
"Not exactly the same, but much closer," Cox teased. "And potentially much improved."
D'Onofrio added, "It’s hard to comment because I want to say so much about both the [Netflix] show and this show, and the change that happened, but in the end, the last few months of work we did was written beautifully and directed beautifully. Personally, I think it’s as intense as we’ve ever been.

Ever thought about what happens when a legendary director’s relentless pursuit of authenticity collides with cutting-edge technology and a stellar cast? In the newest film from The Godfather director Francis Ford Coppola, Adam Driver portrays Caesar Catillina, an architect trying to rebuild New York into a science fiction city after it is destroyed.
A recent article by The Guardian described the dramatic behind-the-scenes action on the set of Coppola’s much-awaited flick, Megalopolis, including a riveting account of Driver’s first day on the set. It seems that the director’s disdain for digital effects led him to make some questionable choices when it came to creating certain visual effects for the film.

Digitally creating that particular effect would have been quick and easy, according to one of the crew members. Nevertheless, Coppola devoted “half of a day” to an activity that could have been completed in ten minutes.

Adam Driver has played a city-dwelling seducer before — think: “Girls” at the very least — but this time, the actor has transformed into a slick harbinger of chaos for Francis Ford Coppola’s epic “Megalopolis.”
Driver stars as artist and city planner Cesar Catilina, once again adjacent to faux Italian-ness for the screen. Cesar’s biggest opponent is Mayor Franklyn Cicero (Giancarlo Esposito), who remains committed to a regressive status quo, perpetuating greed, special interests, and partisan warfare per the official synopsis. Yet when Cesar begins an affair with Franklyn’s socialite daughter Julia Cicero (Nathalie Emmanuel), Cesar’s determined path to forge a new city begins to falter.
Aubrey Plaza, Shia Labeouf, Jon Voight, Laurence Fishburne, Talia Shire, Jason Schwartzman, Kathryn Hunter, Grace VanderWaal, Chloe Fineman, James Remar, D.B. Sweeney, and Dustin Hoffman also star.
Coppola writes, directs, and produces the epic feature which had an estimated budget of $120 million-plus.

Francis Ford Coppola is arguably one of the greatest directors in the industry. Having delivered classics that have shaped Hollywood like The Godfather and Apocalypse Now, the director has made a lot of films that have defined generations of Hollywood filmmaking. However, the director has gone on record to say that his best film is yet to come, talking about his upcoming masterpiece, set to premiere at Cannes this month.

Even though we’ve had set photos, teasers and a confirmed premiere date, it’s still awfully hard to believe that Francis Ford Coppola is finally unleashing Megalopolis to the world. Francis Ford Coppola has revealed the first look at Megalopolis, his self-funded sci-fi epic starring Adam Driver, Giancarlo Esposito, Nathalie Emmanuel, Aubrey Plaza, Shia Labeouf, Jon Voight, Laurence Fishburne, Talia Shire, Jason Schwartzman, Kathryn Hunter, Grace VanderWaal, Chloe Fineman, James Remar, D.B. Sweeney, and Dustin Hoffman.

Torn between them is socialite Julia Cicero, the mayor’s daughter, whose love...
