House of the Dragon stars, Olivia Cooke and Emma D’Arcy, might feud on-screen, but in real life, they both agree going viral and becoming a meme is not a good experience.
In 2022, the duo was doing promo for the premiere of the Game of Thrones spinoff, where they each took turns asking each other questions picked out of a bowl.
Cooke drew a question that prompted her to ask D’Arcy what was her drink of choice.
“Negroni Spagliato with prosecco in it,” D’Arcy said, which led Cooke to react and say, “Stunnin!”
The Bates Motel alum would then go viral and become a meme, something she is not too happy about.
“I did hate it for a very long time,” she said in an interview with EW. “I was in the pub. A woman opened the door for me and she said with a thick Spanish accent, ‘Stunnin’!’ I was just like,...

“House of the Dragon” stars Olivia Cooke and Emma D’Arcy have started the promotional train for Season 2 of the “Game of Thrones” spinoff by gracing the cover of Entertainment Weekly’s latest digital issue, but they’re still somewhat haunted by one insanely viral moment from their Season 1 press tour. That would be the Negroni Spagliato meme.
It all started when Cooke and D’Arcy were flown from San Diego Comic-Con in July 2022 to San Francisco to shoot promos for “House of the Dragon.” HBO tasked the two actors with asking each other questions on video. Cooke told EW they “were put into this room and we were just so jet-lagged,” and the viral moment was born when Cooke asked D’Arcy the following question: “What’s your drink of choice?”
“Negroni Spagliato with prosecco in it,” D’Arcy answered, which prompted Cookie to let out in her Greater Manchester accent:...

HBO has released the first full-length trailer for House of the Dragon season 2 (via SFFGazette.com), and brace yourselves because it's epic. In the newly released footage, we see more of the scheming which continues in Westeros as war beckons between Queen Alicent Hightower and Queen Rhaenyra Targaryen.
The Targaryen civil war known as the "Dance of the Dragons" is nearly upon us and this sneak peek does a phenomenal job of setting the stage for the conflict to come.
All the major players are highlighted, with the sneak peek ending on a suitably epic note as Rhaenyra stands tall with Syrax looming large behind her. Who will prevail? Book readers (and most Game of Thrones fans) will know, but we won't spoil anything here,
"The first season was so much about the royal family, that 1 percent of the upper 1 percent that rules this world. All the people in the...

On Tuesday, HBO released the full trailer for “House of the Dragon” Season 2, which premieres June 16.
The eight-episode second season of the “Game of Thrones” prequel finds the Targaryens in a civil war, with the Greens – supporters of Aegon II Targaryn (Tom Glynn-Carney), son of late king Viserys Targaryen (Paddy Considine) and Alicent Hightower (Olivia Cooke) and the traditional heir – on one side, and the Blacks – partisans of Viserys’ daughter Rhaenyra (Emma D’Arcy), Viserys’ chosen heir, and her husband/uncle Daemon Targaryen (Matt Smith) on the other. Both sides claim the Iron Throne, and they will kill their kin to get it.
The trailer previews the combination of political strategy, intense action, and interpersonal backstabbing that’s the “Game of Thrones” franchise’s signature. On the political side, there’s a small council meeting where Aegon forcefully rejects the idea of dignity in favor of revenge. On the action side,...

All hail the king ... or the queen! Which one has the rightful claim, you ask? Well, that depends on which side you happen to have sworn allegiance to in the great Targaryen schism known as the Dance of the Dragons.
"House of the Dragon" lived up to its billing as an essential "Game of Thrones" prequel, set hundreds of years before Jon Snow and Daenerys Targaryen ever made their claims on the Iron Throne. The events of the mythic Targaryen civil war always loomed large in the background of the original HBO series, but never before had we seen the fire, blood, and (of course) incest depicted with as much fervor as the 10 episodes that comprised its debut season. With all the major players fully established and the stakes set impossibly high, season 2 now has a full runway to double down on our favorite royal squabble and dive deep into...

HBO is rolling out some beauteous dragon footage and a potty-mouthed Aegon in the season 2 trailer for House of the Dragon, which returns June 16.
The drama based on on George R.R. Martin’s “Fire & Blood” is setting up an epic war between the Targaryens and the Hightowers following the Season 1 finale, which saw tragedy befall the former (R.I.P Prince Lucerys Velaryon) at the hands of the latter (Prince Aemond Targaryen). The series was largely able to continue filming last summer during the strikes as it has a largely British cast under Equity contracts rather than SAG-AFTRA ones.
Season two returning cast is Matt Smith, Olivia Cooke, Emma D’Arcy, Eve Best, Steve Toussaint, Fabien Frankel, Ewan Mitchell, Tom Glynn-Carney, Sonoya Mizuno, and Rhys Ifans. “House of the Dragon” Season 2 is about to soar onto screens soon.
After Season 2 was first unveiled at Ccxp in Sao Paolo in December 2023 with a teaser, and later released viral dueling trailers, the season of the dragon is almost upon audiences. Season 2 will not have a time jump like in Season 1, and instead solely focus on former besties turned step-family Rhaenyra (Emma D’Arcy) and Alicent (Olivia Cooke) as they both battle for the Iron Throne.
Per the official synopsis, after the death of King Viserys I (Paddy Considine), an undeniable rift has grown between his daughter Rhaenyra (D’Arcy) and wife Alicent (Cooke), after their close friendship as teenagers. A rift that’s now a full-blown civil war.
The series is based on George R.R. Martin’s “Fire & Blood,” and is set 200 years before the events of “Game of Thrones.”

House of the Dragon was given an almost impossible task. Game of Thrones is considered a cultural phenomenon; it has raised the bar for quality and changed the way TV series are produced. However, all fans know that the first rule of this fandom is not to talk about the latest seasons.
The series' controversial finale, which was not supported by the original source material, undermined the audience's trust in the universe. It took a lot of skill and effort to fish something worthwhile out of the ashes and ruins that Benioff and Weiss left behind.
The first promotional footage of the series left conflicting impressions, and casting decisions raised questions. Some fans awaited House of the Dragon armed with skepticism, bias, and a willingness to bury the project under tons of criticism. But the first episode came out, and for many, skepticism gave way to surprise and then excitement.

It’s already been a busy week for the upcoming Cannes film market, with new films from Julia Ducournau, Romain Gavras, and Panos Cosmatos entering the fray. But what about something lighter than those three, which, considering their directors, will all be audacious in their own ways? “Takes One To Know One” may fit the bill there, as Deadline reports that CAA Media Finance and Cornerstone have the upcoming romance ready for sales on the Croisette once the Cannes Film Festival gets underway in eleven days.

“Outwardly, he gives the impression that he doesn’t care very much,” Gary Oldman recently said about portraying a disgraced MI5 agent on the acclaimed AppleTV+ spy drama “Slow Horses,” explaining that underneath his disheveled exterior, there’s so much more to the man than what meets the eye. “He’s unkempt, and he uses it to play a game. It’s a defense mechanism, and I would say he cares a lot more than most.”
Oldman is mesmerizing in “Slow Horses” as the aloof and often contemptuous Jackson Lamb. He’s a pariah living out his twilight days as the begrudging leader of a group of fellow outcasts to whom he is almost comically obnoxious and offensive. He is truly captivating every time he’s on screen. So, a brilliant performance deserves a brilliant Emmy campaign. HBO’s confirmed a June 16, 2024 premiere date for House of the Dragon season two and released the first-ever “dueling” trailers. Viewers are asked to choose a side in the war between House Targaryen (#TeamBlack) and House Hightower (#TeamGreen), and then watch the trailer dedicated to their chosen allegiance.
“Westeros is on the brink of a bloody civil war with the Green and Black Councils fighting for King Aegon and Queen Rhaenyra, respectively. As each side believes theirs to be the rightful seat on the Iron Throne, the Green and Black trailers reflect those two perspectives in separate yet complementary halves of the same story,” reads HBO’s press release. “For global audiences, ‘All Must Choose’ their side of House Targaryen as the realm fractures in season two.”
New episodes of the eight-episode second season will debut on Sundays at 9pm Et/Pt.

The Game of Thrones prequel series, House of the Dragon, is set to return for second season this summer, and in anticipation, the show has shared (Dennis Reynolds voice) two trailers offering different looks at the brewing conflict in Westeros.
The new season finds House Targaryen in disarray and on the precipice of a civil war: With Queen Rhaenyra and the Black Council on one side, and her half-brother, King Aegon, and the Green Council on the other. As such, the new trailers — aptly titled “Green” and “Black” — tease the two sides of this story,...

Combining George R.R. Martin’s expansive imagination with Warner Bros. Discovery’s equally expansive marketing budget has turned out to be one of pop culture’s great cheat codes.
HBO has announced the official release date for House of the Dragon season 2 and it’s done so in particularly grand fashion. That’s because the announcement was accompanied not just by one trailer but by two. In honor of the show’s plot about the Dance of the Dragons civil war fought between two Targaryen factions, HBO is inviting viewers to choose the trailer experience that most closely corresponds to their “side.”
First up is the “Green Trailer” for those who are inclined to support Aegon II’s (Tom Glynn-Carney) claim to the Iron Throne.
Then there is the “Black Trailer” for supporters of Queen Rhaenyra (Emma D’Arcy) on Dragonstone, Viserys I’s eldest daughter and the would-be first female monarch of the Seven Kingdoms.

House of the Dragon season two dropped dueling trailers Thursday, prompting fans to choose between the black trailer, focusing on Rhaenyra (Emma D’Arcy), or the green one, which puts Alicent (Olivia Cooke) at the forefront.
Rhaenyra’s trailer focuses on her, Prince Daemon (Matt Smith) and their Dragonstone forces, while the green puts King Landing’s team of Alicent, Otto (Rhys Ifans) and her children — King Aegon (Tom Glynn-Carney) and Prince Aemond (Ewan Mitchell) — at the forefront. This season of the Emmy-nominated show will begin the Targaryen’s civil war, also known as the Dance of the Dragons.
Max also announced a June 16 release date for the eight-episode second season of the Game of Thrones prequel that picks up where the first season of the Emmy-winning show left off. The series is based on George R.R. Martin’s Fire & Blood and takes place 200 years before the events of the hit...
