Erick Kaslov was born in Paterson, New Jersey, in 1981. His passion for film started at a young age; his family would let him watch almost anything from Star Wars to Scarface. Christmas 1987 was the most special to him because his family got him his first camera. Right away he started to make his movies with his toys and sisters. He moved to Los Angeles with his grandma and dad when he got older. He never thought he could make movies, so he thought he would love movies but find another job. At first, he was going to go to bible college, but then he decided to take a chance and started to attend Los Angeles City College, where he studied film. He made many short films there, but his career did not take off till he moved back to New Jersey and made the short film Her Name Was Samantha; not long after that he reconnected with his friend. Larry Sands soon started the something-something podcast. That led to Erick writing and directing his first feature film Hillsborough Road
