Exclusive: Hallmark’s The Way Home — the network’s first new original series in almost seven years — has been renewed for a second season.
The drama that stars Andie MacDowell and Chyler Leigh has been a ratings winner since premiering Jan. 15, regularly topping Bravo’s Real Housewives of Potomac, TLC’s 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way, and HGTV’s Home Town on Sunday nights. It ranks as the No. 1 most-watched program on Sundays among households, P2+, W18+ and P18+ on a L+Sd basis.
The audience has also increased throughout the season among women and younger viewers. On a L+3 basis through Feb. 19, The Way Home is the No. 2 most-watched program overall with HHs, P2+, W18+ and P18+, second only to Hallmark’s own original movie.

The cable network announced Tuesday that it will offer viewers a special event night with a double dose of primetime drama on Sunday, March 26.
The big night kicks off with the highly-anticipated season finale of its critically acclaimed, hit multigenerational family drama series The Way Home.
The freshman drama moves to an earlier time slot of 8 p.m. Et/Pt.
After The Way Home wraps its run, we'll be introduced to the new drama series, Ride, at 9 p.m. Et/Pt.

Sunday’s debut of The Way Home starring Andie MacDowell and Chyler Leigh helped the Hallmark Channel to become the most-watched entertainment cable destination of the week and weekend in total day and primetime among key demos, according to Nielsen results.
The show, which marks the network’s first new original series in almost seven years, also ranked as the second most-watched entertainment cable program on Sunday and the third most-watched of the week, reaching 2.4 million unduplicated total viewers.

Iliza Shlesinger’s latest comedy special with Netflix titled “Hot Forever” — her sixth for the streamer — has set a release date for October 11. The Avalon-produced special was filmed at the Connor Palace in Cleveland this past July.
The special was directed by Steven Paley, with Shlesinger serving as executive producer alongside Avalon’s Kara Baker and David Martin. Her previous specials with Netflix include 2019’s “Unveiled,” 2018’s “Elder Millennial,” 2016’s “Confirmed Kills,” 2015’s “Freezing Hot” and 2013’s “War Paint.”
