Justin Richards is an LA-based cinematographer, with an MFA Cinematography degree from UCLA. He has shot a number of award winning short films including, 305/307, that won Best Cinematography at the undergrad UCLA showcase, House of the Lonesome Human Beings, which won an Honorable Mention for Cinematography at the Asians on Film Festical 2017, and Tre Uomini e un Cane, which won both the audience choice award and Top jury prize at the Cici Film Festival 2017 in Sicily. An art installation project, Art in Motion, a recreation of famous paintings with real actors, lighting, and sets in slow motion premiered as a music video at the Los Angeles Film Festival accompanied by an orchestral score by Serj Tankien and recently had its video installation premiere at Slamdance DIG. Also, he shot a music video for Daron Malakian and Scars on Broadway's song Lives, commemorating the Armenian Genocide, which has almost 6 million views. In addition he has shot numerous independent short films, short documentaries, music videos, as well as his first feature, Recapture, in 16mm black and white. His second feature, Good, features Keith David in a supporting role. He is also a colorist, and has color graded numerous short films and features, including Dekalb Elementary, a short film nominated for the Best Short Film Oscar.
