Dawn volunteers crisis and grief counseling services. Dawn was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis in 2011 and started playing guitar to alleviate MS symptoms and pain. - While serving as the Medical/Technical Advisor and Researcher for the film Selma, Director Ava DuVernay cast Dawn in a small principal role as a doctor, which allowed her to become SAG.
- Dawn is disabled with Multiple Sclerosis. She started playing guitar as part of her treatment plan for living with MS.
