- Has three sons. Seth Blyckert (previous marriage) was born on July 11th 2001, Nemo Husgafvel was born June 30th, 2010, and Mio Husgafvel was born March 28th, 2013. She has been married to her two later children's father Johan Husgafvel (bassist of Pain since 2007), since 2013.
- The second Lead Singer and Frontwoman of Nightwish, her debut was the release of Nightwish's "Eva". Her first hit single "Amaranth" is still Nightwish's best-selling single to date, going platinum, 14 years later. Her identity was kept a secret as Ewo's "Swedish cousin" until she was officially announced as Nightwish's new Frontwoman.
- Auditioned for Nightwish using "EverDream", she was picked out of 2,000 applicants. She was initially rejected due to Tuomas Halopainen being concerned about her having a young son, but she was persistent and sent a video of her performing with her prior band Alyson Avenue, and was eventually chosen. Her demo version of "EverDream" can still be found on YouTube.
- Had the shortest lasting tenure of any Nightwish Lead Vocalist with 5 years, and shortest discography with only two albums and one EP. Also has the honor of being Lead Singer to Nightwish's 2nd and 3rd best selling albums (behind Once), and their still best-selling hit single (Amaranth) 14 years later, despite them being her only two albums with the band.
- Collaborated with Lauri Ylönen of The Rasmus for the duet "October and April".
- Was unfortunately physically assaulted near her home in Sweden 2016, by a drug addicted woman. Her assaulter was caught and prosecuted.
- Played Oboe for several years growing up.
- As of 2020 is working as a Full-time nurse, fronts The Dark Element in her spare time.
- Although she has been criticized by many Tarja and Floor fans as being the 'worst' of Nightwish's three singers, most those same fans are also in agreement that many songs written for Anette are among Nightwish's best. Many are played at concerts as Nightwish's second wave of classics.
- Unfortunately, experienced vicious backlash from Tarja-Nightwish's more ardent fans, who felt her brighter, more relaxed Pop/Rock Soprano unworthy for Nightwish's bombastic music, and when compared Tarja's dark, precision based, Classically trained Soprano vocals. Fans had been hoping/speculating that Tuomas would hire either Norwegian Soprano's, Vibeke Stene of Tristania, [who had suspiciously left Tristania in January 2007 (after 11 years) just a couple months prior, and had a similar Classically trained background], or Liv Kristine of critically-acclaimed, (then)Theatre of Tragedy. Nightwish fan theories surrounding the timing of her departure, led Vibeke to officially announce that she would not be the new Lead singer of Nightwish; she had left to finish her degree to pursue a career in Teaching. Liv and her (then)Husband and Manager, Alexander Krull, announced they hadn't heard an offer. Anette was officially announced in May later that year.
- In 2009, infamously walked out, on video, during a performance of "The Poet And The Pendulum": during the "Mother and Father" sequence: leaving the venue entirely to go back to her hotel room. Partly due to the emotional content of the song, in context of herself having a young son, and internal problems with Anette and the band already cropping up, Tarja-Nightwish fans heckling her from the audience, and the haze-smoke stage effects on her voice (Marko's explanation).
- Tuomas Halopainen frequently uses potent recurrent lyrical content, some more frequent per singer. Tarja's lyrical themes frequently dealt with the Ocean, the Moon, Fantasy, sirens, emotional depths, the inner child, introspection, naivety, emotional purity, lust, and kinship between the band members. In contrast, much of Anette's lyrical themes frequently dealt with emotional hells, betrayal, trauma, depression, catharsis, animals and evil carnivals. She also has the only "Southern Blues" song written for her out of Nightwish's entire discography.
- Although Floor Jansen has received near universal adulation for her spin on Nightwish classics, Anette Olzon was the first Vocalist to try and make Nightwish songs her own, including "Ghost Love Score".
- One of the two most emotionally intimate songs Tuomas has ever written was written for her to perform, "The Poet And The Pendulum", where he commits suicide in the song so that he "wouldn't have to do it in real Life". The other is "Dead Boy's Poem", which was written for Tarja to perform.
- Collaborated with Russell Allen (Symphony X) under Allen/Olzon. Their debut album is titled Worlds Apart, and was released on March 6th, 2020.
- Vocal range is D3-G#5, 2.5 Octaves.
