John Scott Ross
John Scott Ross hails from Springfield Ohio and has been steadily
employed in the entertainment industry since 1975. Educated at Ohio
State University he interned for Player's Theater of Columbus. Mr. Ross
furthered his studies at HB Studios and High Mark Studios in New York
City. Scott started his career as an actor, touring children's theater,
working Off Broadway and appearing in television commercials. Acting
led to stage management positions on tour and in stock companies and
working as an electrician for Off Broadway Lighting Designers led to
lighting design projects. Scott was the Technical Director for the
original Off Broadway production of " Little Shop of Horrors" at the
Orpheum Theater. Mr. Ross was the Production Manager and Sales Manager
for Stage Right Entertainment, Inc. for 10 years as well as providing
Stage and/or Production Management for The Arts Festival of Atlanta and
First Night Atlanta. Scott enjoyed six years at The Center for Puppetry
Arts which included Production Stage Management for a 22 city
international tour of Jon Ludwig's and Ping Chong's award winning
"Kwaidan". Scott progressed to stage management for "Menopause the
Musical" in Atlanta then to the Theatrical Outfit where he was the
Facilities Manager and four years as the Project manger for Television
Production Service, Inc. Most Recently John Scott has returned to
freelance work on film and TV shoots, running followspots and/or
lighting consoles for the 2012 Democratic National Convention in
Charlotte, Atlanta Symphony Orchestra at Chastain Ampitheater and the
Alliance Theater, Master Electrician for Select Media Resources, Full
Circle Lighting, Rigging Services Inc., and All Access Labor, Stage
Managing for Ballethnic Dance Company and some acting work on
commercials. Scott has worked on nearly one thousand productions
spanning the last forty years. Scott enjoys music, collecting wind-up
toys and Pez dispensers and woodworking at his home in Decatur he
shares with his lovely wife, Barbara, Oberon the Cat and Honey (Badger)
the Dog. Peace.
