[on his party band 'Down with Webster'] As we get older we don't ever want to be a band that has a disconnect in terms of what we're doing in our lives and what we're writing music about. I can think of a couple of bands, and I watch them. I can tell there is no connection between what they're writing and who they are. They are just writing for a demographic. That doesn't seem very fulfilling. To be honest, our best shot at being original is doing what we do and what we were meant to do. The less we put on our formulaic hat, the better.
