Selected by British Cinematographer magazine as its 'NEW WAVE' rising star DOP in it's 2020 issue, Simon has now shot 10 feature films, countless shorts and TV pilots, as well as a multitude of commercials, with 27 wins and 4 nominations for his work.
Initially starting out over 15 years ago in the props and special effects department, Simon soon found his potential behind the lens and moved into the camera department.
His most recent film to hit the cinemas across America and now streaming in the UK, has been folk horror 'LORD OF MISRULE', directed by William Brent Bell (The Boy, Orphan: First Kill) with lead cast Tuppence Middleton and Ralph Ineson.
Lionsgate feature film 'ONE RANGER' starring Thomas Jane and John Malkovich, which Simon shot for director Jesse v Johnson, was released in May 2023 in US Cinemas and on VOD in the UK.
In 2022 Simon shot a one-off TV special, 'AMA'S STORY' for Wildseed Studios and Sky with Director Makalla Mcpherson and completed 2nd unit work on the film 'CANYON OF THE DEAD' starring Tom Felton.
In the summer of 2022 Simon also wrapped on 'DUCHESS', a crime thriller shot in Tenerife, for director Neil Marshall (Dog Soldiers, The Descent) starring Sean Pertwee, Phillip Winchester and Charlotte Kirk. Due for release in summer 2024.
During the winter of 2020/21 during the pandemic, Simon worked with director Timo Vuorensola (Iron Sky) to bring a new refreshing take on the horror film franchise 'JEEPERS CREEPERS', with large set builds and green screen environments.
In 2019 Simon filmed the espionage spy thriller 'LEGACY OF LIES' starring Scott Adkins. Released in the USA through Lionsgate, it reached No.4 in the UK and No.2 in USA of the Netflix film charts. Other highlights include the SKY TV funded short films 'BOYS' directed by Ashley Walters (Bulletproof, Top Boy), and 'DADDY'S GIRL' directed by Jessica Magaye which screened on Sky Arts and are now available on the Now TV.
Sci-Fi short 'COGNITION' starring Andrew and Jeremy Irvine which he shot for director Ravi Chopra, was long listed for the 2021 Oscar Academy Awards and recently won a Guinness World Record for 'Most Awards for a Live Action Fictional Short Film'.
He is represented in the UK by the fabulous Berlin Associates and in the USA by the reputable Murtha Skouras.
