Two major 2018 releases – actioner “Mission: Impossible – Fallout” and critics’ darling “Roma” – were honored for film location work by the Location Managers Guild International at a ceremony this evening at the Eli & Edythe Broad Stage in Santa Monica.
The 6th Annual Lmgi Awards also recognized “Chernobyl” and “Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan” in the television category.
The Lmgi Awards spotlight “productions in which the creative use of filming locations sets the tone, enriches the character and enhances the narrative,” per the organization.
Paramount’s “Mission: Impossible – Fallout” filmed at locations in France, the U.K., Abu Dhabi, Norway and New Zealand. Netflix’s “Roma” was shot in and around Mexico City. HBO’s “Chernobyl” derived its authentic look from locations in Lithuania, not far from Ukraine, where the nuclear disaster itself took place. And Amazon’s “Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan” traveled to Montreal, Morocco, France and Washington D.C.

“This Is Us” star Chrissy Metz did use a “B” word to describe Alison Brie at the Golden Globes on Sunday, but it may not have been the one that many viewers, and quite a few media outlets, initially thought. In fact, it was a much nicer one.
According to Aj Gibson, one of the co-hosts of the red carpet pre-show on Facebook Live, Metz called the “Glow” star a “babe.”
“While interviewing Chrissy during the HFPA Presents: Globes Red Carpet Live pre-show and as our conversation came to its natural conclusion, we were told to wrap and toss over to our co-hosts on another portion of the carpet, who were on standby with Alison Brie,” Gibson told People. “I jokingly asked Chrissy if she knew who Alison was, as a way to transition into the ‘toss’ and she played along. She then referred to Alison as a ‘babe’ and the fun exchange ended.

As the rain poured down, our photog asked Chrissy about the semi-off-mic passing comment, and she squarely dismissed what some people say they heard. Chrissy Metz let slip a few choice words about Alison Brie live on the Golden Globes red carpet Sunday.
“She’s such a b—-,” the “This Is Us” actress was heard saying into her microphone as the camera panned away to introduce the “Glow” actress during their red carpet interviews on the 2019 Golden Globes Facebook Live pre-show.
Metz, who had just finished discussing the third season of her popular NBC drama, appeared not to realize the microphone was still hot when she uttered the comment as emcees Missi Pyle and Aj Gibson turned to introduce Brie on the opposite side of the carpet. Anything can happen at the American Music Awards — from the star-studded collaboration of “We Are The World” in 1986 to Garth Brooks literally rejecting the award for artist of the year in 1996 — and this year is no exception.
The 45th edition of the AMAs will broadcast live from the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles on Sunday, Nov. 19, at 8 p.m. Et on ABC. But before the show starts, you need a run-down of what to expect on the big night.

Ryan Carrillo, Kari Gibson, Aj Gibson
ABC’s Expedition Impossible might not have turned out to be the ratings juggernaut that is The Amazing Race, but when it comes to gay competitors with guts as well as heart, Ei concedes nothing to Tar.
Credit for that goes to 36-year-old Ryan Carrillo and 30-year-old A.J. Gibson, former boyfriends who, along with Aj’s sister, 26-year-old Kari Gibson, came “oh so close” to wining the first season of Expedition Impossible. Alas, the team took a wrong turn at the very end and wound finishing third, disappointing themselves, but not their fans, friends and families who marveled at the Fab 3's toughness as they fought their way through injuries and illness, not to mention the mountains and deserts of Morocco.
AfterElton.com caught up with the Fab 3 (the name they gave themselves) to talk about their close call, representing the gay community, and much more.

The Bataan Death March … With Chocolate
Another Television Critics Association Summer Tour is over and this was probably the most memorable one I’ve ever done, for a whole host of reasons.
Another critic once described the press tour (which usually lasts for two solid weeks with no breaks at all) as the Bataan Death March With Cocktails. Since I’m not much of a drinker that isn’t true for me. Instead, for me it’s a death march with chocolate since the cable and broadcast networks were constantly tempting us with all kinds of chocolates, from marshmallows covered with dark chocolate to chocolate covered strawberries to all kinds of fancy fou-fou chocolate desserts.
ABC even sent a box of amazing chocolate chip cookies to my room where they begged me to eat them! Talk about evil.
As I said, this TCA was very memorable. The day I arrived in Los Angeles,...

It can be difficult at times to be a reality TV show fan. The shows usually have total jerks on them, the people that you are rooting for always get eliminated first and you have to listen to at least half the contestants explain that they aren’t there to make friends.
But sometimes, the gods of reality TV smile down and last night on the premiere episode of Expedition Impossible was one of those nights. The awful girls who seemed like terrible sports and horrible teammates were the first ones to get eliminated, which is always a relief. Team Fab 3, who I am guessing several people here are rooting for, did a great job, coming in second place after the first leg and showing their strength in both the physical and the mental challenges.
Plus, there were a bunch of compelling teams that look like they will be interesting...

Expedition Impossible is right around the corner, and I have a lot of preview material to get your ready. If you're a fan of other competition reality shows, but don't think there is enough chance that the contestants might - fall to their death, succumb to heat stroke, or break a bone - then here is the show for you.
The show takes 13 teams of, more or less, ordinary individuals, and throws them to the mercy of the elements, unique and sometimes terrifying challenges, and the last team to finish each week ends their journey.
Kicking off with a mere climb up a giant sand dune, and a trek on camels, the teams are then left scratching their heads in the middle of the dessert with the unhelpful instruction that they have to find some water. As the heat rages down on them, the strength of will and teamwork of...
