Netflix is parting ways with two of its freshman dramas.
The streaming service canceled Partner Track and The Imperfects.
Partner Track launched on August 26 but failed to garner much traction.
The series followed Ingrid Yun (Arden Cho), a 1st generation Korean American and the first lawyer in her family, who experiences the trials and tribulations of excelling at the prestigious (but old school) law firm, Parsons Valentine.
Bradley Gibson (Power Book II: Ghost), Alexandra Turshen (Ray Donovan), Dominic Sherwood (Shadowhunters), and Rob Heaps (Good Girls) also starred.
The cast was rounded out by Nolan Gerard Funk (The Flight Attendant), Matthew Rauch (Banshee), and Roby Attal (The Haunting of Bly Manor).
Unfortunately, the series ended on a big cliffhanger, meaning it joins the ranks of Netflix's other one-and-done series that failed to get conclusions.
Also canceled is The Imperfects.

Two Netflix shows that debuted this summer, “Partner Track” and “The Imperfects,” won’t be picked up for a second season, TheWrap confirmed Tuesday.
“Partner Track,” based on Helen Wan’s 2013 novel “The Partner Track,” starred Arden Cho, who played Ingrid Yun, a motivated young lawyer who is climbing the ladder to becoming a partner at a prestigious law firm. During her journey, the show highlights the challenges women of color — specifically Asian American women — face in white, male-dominated industries.

Exclusive: Netflix has opted not to proceed with second seasons of legal drama Partner Track, headlined by Arden Cho, and sci-fi drama The Imperfects, starring Italia Ricci.
Neither series has been a breakout. Partner Track debuted August 26 with 16.7M minutes viewed in its opening weekend and peaked at No. 4 on Netflix’s Weekly Top 10 for English-language series. The Imperfects opened at No. 3 in its debut weekend (September 8-11) before slipping. Both series spent only three weeks in the Top 10, which is not the long tail Netflix wants to see for shows that earn renewals.
Netflix brass had high expectations for Partner Track, which broke ground in representation as a romantic drama with an Asian American lead, Cho. Season 1 ended with a big cliffhanger, which indicates confidence in a show’s prospects, and the streamer had commissioned a writers room that was up and running, working on ideas for a potential second season,...

This week, “The Voice” aired its first-ever three-way knockouts, and since the coaches could only save one of their three artists, things predictably turned into a bloodbath. In all, 11 artists went home during the episodes that aired October 31 and November 1 on NBC — yikes!
We asked “The Voice” fans to name which person they thought was the most wrongfully eliminated during Knockouts Week 1, and Morgan Taylor from Team John Legend topped our poll results (see below) with a leading 19 support. It was a close race though, as Jay Allen from Team Blake Shelton came in second place at 18.
19 — Morgan Taylor (Team Legend)

15 — The Dryes (Team Blake)
11 — Jaeden Luke (Team Camila)

NBC aired “The Voice 22” Knockouts Week 1 on October 31 and November 1, where a whopping 11 artists were eliminated. The four coaches — Blake Shelton, Gwen Stefani, John Legend and Camila Cabello — matched up three artists apiece for each knockout, but could only choose one winner. However, some of the losers were then stolen by rival judges, so they’ll live to perform another day. Of this week’s “The Voice” cuts, vote in our poll below to tell us who was wrongfully eliminated.
As a refresher, here are the names of the 11 artists who were sent home by their coaches during the first week of knockouts: The Dryes and Jay Allen from Team Blake; Destiny Leigh from Team Gwen; Peyton Aldridge, Valarie Harding, Ian Harrison and Morgan Taylor from Team Legend; and Chello, Orlando Mendez, Jaeden Luke and Reina Ley from Team Camila.

In the first three-way knockout in “The Voice” history, the coaches group three of their artists to perform individually against each other. Next, they select a winner to move on to the live playoffs. Each coach will only have one steal throughout this round and there are no saves. If our math is correct, that should leave Blake Shelton, Camila Cabello, Gwen Stefani and John Legend with four artists each as their teams go live for America’s vote.

The battles round of “The Voice” season 22 concluded on October 25 after five nights of head-to-head performances from each team. Beginning October 31, the coaches will triple the ante in a round of three-way knockouts. In the round, each coach will group their nine artists into three match-ups of three, selecting only one winner from each knockout to move forward with. They will each also have one steal at their disposal to pluck an unchosen artist from one of the other teams.

On Monday’s fifth episode of “The Voice” Season 22, viewers will be introduced to Bodie, a 29-year-old singer from Ladera Ranch, California. All four coaches — Blake Shelton, John Legend, Gwen Stefani and Camila Cabello — are so impressed with his cover of The Fray‘s “You Found Me” that they push their buttons, making him the latest four-chair turn contestant. But Blake has some choice words for John when they turn their chairs around at essentially the same time. Watch “The Voice” sneak peek video above.
“Stop pushing your button when I push my button!” Blake loudly exclaims. John giggles in response. So far this season, there have been seven four-chair turns but Blake has only acquired one, Kevin, for his team. To compare, John has nabbed three already: Omar, Morgan and Parijita. Hmm, do we have ourselves a new “The Voice” feud?

In some ways, every season of The Voice is the same, right? Early on — and it never fails — we wind up picking a favorite or favorites, only for them to wind up getting cut by the end of the Live Playoffs (if not sooner). But I really don’t think that’s going to happen with the four-chair turn who especially dazzled Blake Shelton, Gwen Stefani, John Legend and Camila Cabello in Monday’s episode. The artist in question — the last one reviewed down below — is blessed with a voice that just doesn’t quit — maybe because it’s so...

“The Real Housewives of Atlanta” opened doors and now Cynthia Bailey says she’s putting in the work to break through in Hollywood.
Bailey said goodbye to “Rhoa” in 2021. Since then she’s been adding to her acting resume and will next be seen on Season 2 of AllBlk anthology series “Terror Lake Drive.” The new season is titled “Terror Lake Drive: Single Black Female” and premieres on June 23.
As a Black woman over age 50, Bailey admits she feared Hollywood might not be welcoming.
“When I walked away from ‘Housewives,’ I’m a woman of a certain age, I’m a Black woman, who just turned 55 years old in the ‘Celebrity Big Brother’ house this year. From beginning to end, Cruel Instruction is a phenomenal film with a fantastic cast, helmed by dual talents Kelcey Mawema and Morgan Taylor Campbell.
They are the very core of this film and the heart and soul. Cruel Instruction struck gold with the effortless chemistry between the two, something that only elevated a powerful, provocative, yet alarming film that will sit with you well after the credits roll.
Kayla's journey is a frustrating one. As someone familiar with the pitfalls a child will fall through when they suffer learning disabilities, thanks to experiences with siblings, one's heart ached for Kayla.
Not only was she facing bullying at school, but she went through extended periods feeling as if she was stupid because of her undiagnosed dyslexia. Kayla was proof of how a child can slip through the cracks of an education system.

Nobody was particularly happy that Joan Crawford’s final big-screen performance was in 1970’s “Trog,” probably least of all the actress herself. But that very silly movie about a troglodyte found living in the modern age is at least more fun than “William,” in which a Neanderthal is cloned from an ancient caveman’s DNA. Instead of cheesy sci-fi horror, this is an earnest teen drama of a “Mom and Dad, why am I different from the others?” variety, one that ekes amazingly little excitement from its protagonist’s status as an evolutionary anomaly.
Tim Disney’s film strikes a bland compromise between science-fantasy, suspense-melodrama and family entertainment, developing no element to a level that generates more than mild interest. It’s a polished but dull enterprise that leaves one wondering just what the filmmakers had in mind. “William” opens on one screen each in Los Angeles and New York...
