The 2021 Tribeca Festival, presented by AT&T, has today unveiled its short film lineup, which includes 46 films from 20 countries worldwide, 70 percent of which are world premieres. The short films will be presented in eight programs: two documentaries, two narratives, two hybrids (including both narrative and documentary), one animation, and one New York shorts program. Additionally, the festival will feature a special curated out-of-competition Juneteenth program and a live performance by Blondie, following the screening of the short film “Blondie: Vivir En La Habana.”
As the festival announced late last month, this year’s event will “transform prominent locations into an expansive 12-day multi-screen outdoor celebration” held June 9 to 20, and is believed to be first major North American film festival to mount such an in-person event. Director Jon M. Chu’s long-awaited “In the Heights,” adapted from Lin-Manuel Miranda’s Tony Award-winning Broadway musical, will open the 20th anniversary edition of Tribeca...

The Sydney Harbour Federation Trust has confirmed that it will review the future of Cockatoo Island Film Festival.
During a meeting of the Trust yesterday, the organisers of the Cockatoo Island Film Festival tweeted its future was ‘bleak’.
A statement from the Trust this morning said: “The Sydney Harbour Federation Trust was a sponsor of the inaugural Cockatoo Island Film Festival. The Harbour Trust is currently conducting an independent post-event review of the Cockatoo Island Film Festival and its sponsorship. The outcome of this review will assist the Harbour Trust to determine how it will move forward.”
While the Sydney Harbour Federation Trust is the Leadership Partner, the festival was also sponsored by Nsw Mining and Hoyts as Strategic Partners. The festival was organised by Allanah Zitserman and Stavros Kazantzidis who are also behind the Dungog Film Festival.

Sydney’s Outpost street art festival is looking for a number of sponsors for a variety of opportunities.
The festival, to be next held on Sydney’s Cockatoo Island in April 2013, celebrates the nature of street art, with a focus on urban culture.
Outpost will open on Good Friday, 29 March, and run until Sunday 5 May.
“Our new dates coincide with Easter and the April school holidays, which we hope will encourage even more families to visit,” said Geoff Bailey, executive director of Sydney Harbour Federation Trust. “Research from last year showed nearly 60% of visitors were aged 18 to 35. Outpost was also a massive hit with families and school groups interested in our education and family programs.”
On sponsorship opportunities, Rubinee Hoyne, director of marketing, events and business development at the Harbour Trust, said: “We’re keen to talk about partnerships ranging from the more traditional lines of food/beverage and media...
