- Now that I've done a suspense thriller (an old style horror film) next Halloween I can go as myself.
- The biggest difference I find working as an actor with other actors and being a director of the scene is that as an actor I'm in the moment. Feeling what makes it work. Sharing the actual human experiences. As a director, I'm a voyeur at arm's-length.
- God's joke is making you the smartest person in the room. His bigger joke is making you think you are.
- When you audition, there are ten thousand reasons why you won't get the role and one reason why you will. No one knows what the one reason is.
- The greatest thing about acting when you're old is it's not a young person's business. If the part calls for a 70 year old, they're looking for a 70 year old. They don't hire a 28 year old because they make less money.
- The difference between success and failure is one bad decision years before.
- To think outside the box you have to not even see the box.
- You can't do what you can't do. So do what you can.
- You want to loose weight? See yourself in nothing but boxer shorts on the big screen.
- Stanislavski lied. He said, "there are no small parts just small actors." There are both. Ask any actor who gets a paycheck for background work or one day on a six month shooting schedule. So although from the viewpoint of a producer or director all parts are important to the story, for an actor paying their bills there is a real difference. The truth is the there are small parts and small actors. Small actors doing big parts, big actors doing small parts, big actors doing big parts and small actors doing small parts. Stanislavski as a producer was doing marketing. Making actors feel good and needed so that he could fill the smaller parts. Emotional leverage that's been used on every actor since Constantin (Stanislavski) said it over one hundred years ago.
