Adam Chase (Friends) and Ted Schachter are executive producing the project with Hornsby. How to Be a Gentleman is set to debut on September 29, 2011 and will be airing every Thursday night on CBS. A new comedy from CBS, How to Be a Gentleman is based on a book by John Bridges. The etiquette guide teaches men exactly what it says, but comedian David Hornsby took it differently. He liked it enough to make a series out of it, this time revolving around two characters: a writer and his personal trainer.
Hornsby, known for his work on It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, stars as columnist Andrew Carlson. He's a traditional and refined man who is devoted to the ideals of a time long gone, when civil gentlemen still roamed the streets in abundance. Unfortunately, his lifestyle is way out of date and he now leads a life detached from society.

CBS is the latest network unveiling its 2011-2012 primetime schedule. Five new shows, "Person of Interest", "Two Broke Girls", "Unforgettable", "How to Be a Gentleman" and "A Gifted Man", are enlisted in the line-up and have already got previews.
Coming from executive producer J.J. Abrams, "Person of Interest" follows a presumed dead former-cia agent (Jim Caviezel) who teams up with a mysterious billionaire (Michael Emerson) to prevent violent crimes in New York, using state-of-the-art surveillance technology. The crime drama will air every Thursday at 9 P.M.
"Two Broke Girls" is a comedy starring Kat Dennings and Beth Behrs as two strikingly different young waitresses who form an unlikely friendship in the hopes of launching a successful business. The show is put on Monday at 8:30 P.

Three other series are confirmed to join the already-announced "Person of Interest" and "Two Broke Girls" on the CBS line-up when the network reveals its full schedule May 18.
Deadline reports the drama "Rookies" (now "The 2-2") and "The Rememberer" (now "Unforgettable") and the comedy "How To Be a Gentleman" (still "How To Be a Gentleman") have all been picked up.
"The 2-2," from executive producer Robert De Niro, is a cop series starring Leelee Sobieski ("Joan of Arc") and Adam Goldberg ("The Unusuals"). As for "Unforgettable," the procedural follows a former detective (Poppy Montgomery) who can remember anything.
David Hornsby, a writer and sometimes star of "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia," created and stars in "Gentleman" -- a loose adaptation of John Bridges' book of the same name, in which Hornsby plays a magazine editor who writes a column on how to be a respectable modern male. "Entourage" vet Kevin Dillon co-stars.

The future of "Two and a Half Men" is, let's say, cloudy at the moment.
If we had to guess right now, we'd say that the show, which is currently the most-watched comedy on TV, will be back in some form -- with or without Charlie Sheen -- for 2011-12. CBS will announce its lineup for next season in mid-May, which means the network, Warner Bros. TV, creators Chuck Lorre and Lee Aronsohn and Sheen have about two and a half months to figure out what happens next.
But what if the worst-case scenario for CBS happens and "Men" doesn't come back at all?
Yes, the network would probably suffer some in the ratings -- but it would probably also come out Ok. CBS also has the No. 2 and 3 comedies in terms of viewers in "The Big Bang Theory" and "Mike & Molly"; both shows are also in the Top 25 this...

Former Friends executive producer Adam Chase has joined CBS' comedy pilot How To Be A Gentleman, written by and starring It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia's David Hornsby. Chase will serve as executive producer/co-showrunner on the pilot alongside Hornsby. If the pilot goes to series, for Chase it would be in second position to ABC's freshman comedy Better with You, on which Chase serves as a co-executive producer. Loosely based on John Bridges' book How To Be a Gentleman: A Contemporary Guide to Common Courtesy, the CBS TV Studios-produced show revolves around a magazine that has changed ownership and centers on Alan (Hornsby) who writes a column on how to be a gentleman - in all aspects of life. Also executive producing the pilot with Hornsby and Chase are Ted Schachter and Mrc. On Better with You, Chase, repped by Wme and Mosaic, reunited with fellow Friends exec...
