Samantha Tuffarelli
- Actress
- Producer
Samantha Tuffarelli was born and raised in the Bronx in an
Italian-American neighborhood, just a stone's throw from where movie
icons Chazz Palminteri and Jennifer Lopez grew up. Destined to be an
actor, she started at age 2, and booked "Sesame Street," by the age of
7, continuing to work the show until she was 10.
Indeed acting opened up a whole new world of possibilities for her.
One of those possibilities became her other love, dance. Before she turned 3, dance became an integral part of her life, and eventually led to other physical activities such as cheer-leading, figure skating, gymnastics, softball, basketball, and swimming, and eventually to the NHL. That's right, Tuffarelli used her dancing skills to become a member of the vaunted New Jersey Devils Dance Team.
Still, acting has always been her first love, and it was while at Fairfield University in Connecticut she realized she had to get her first love back. In her Sophomore year of college she got a call to work on "Sex And The City," and Tuffarelli was cast after auditioning for director Michael Patrick King.
Still, Tuffarelli returned to school after her mini-adventure with Carrie and the rest of the girls.
Tuffarelli graduated in 2009 and since then has begun to make her dream a reality. She was cast in a variety of roles over various genres, beginning by playing a waitress in the Indie comedy, "No, You Ain't Alright," and then as Mia in the feature film, "Night Bird." Recently she was cast in the upcoming motion picture and Clint Howard vehicle, "Pumping Up."
In 2011, she won the "Will You Be My Next Great Success Story," monologue contest sponsored by award-winning director/producer Sam Borowski. Borowski was not only impressed with her skills, but her passion for craft, and the industry itself.
