Remington Chase, a former film producer who was accused of swindling investors out of at least $234 million, has been reported dead in the United Kingdom.
Chase, 65, died of liver failure on July 31 at Victoria Hospital in Blackpool, according to a death certificate provided to Variety by the Blackpool Registration Service.
His death was also confirmed by his wife, Linda Biron of Marina del Rey, Calif., who said he was a “good person.”
“He got mixed up with some wrong people,” she said in an interview. “He was not out to hurt anybody. He was out to make good movies.”
Chase’s death leaves a long trail of litigation, with numerous parties accusing him of defrauding them out of investment funds, real estate and loan proceeds.
Base Media, a China-based animation and VFX studio, sued Chase and an associate, Kevin Robl, in 2022, accusing them of a massive fraud against the company’s investors.

In case you're wondering what a periphery is, think of it as an area usually home to what you see with your peripheral vision. If you don't know what peripheral vision is then you probably get into lots of accidents and have a habit of bumping into stuff. In any event it's also the new home for horror!

The new Mark Wahlberg movie Lone Survivor is the remarkable true story of four Us Navy SEALs on an ill-fated mission in Afghanistan in 2005. Due for release in the UK on 31 January, the film has already been praised by Us reviewers for its brutally believable portrayal of heroism and sacrifice. Yet as remarkable true stories go, the film is rivalled by the biography of its executive producers, Remington Chase and Stepan Martirosyan, who emerged as Hollywood players in 2011 and have since become, they claim, the biggest independent financiers in town.

Heading into the weekend business associates of Envision Entertainment were reeling in light of scandalous allegations to emerge involving the founders of the financier-producer.
According to an investigative article last week in La Weekly, Remington Chase and Stefan Martirosian have a colourful history involving arrests, prison time, FBI drug stings, criminal acquaintances, the black diamond trade and informant activity.
Us-born Chase and Armenian immigrant Martirosian deny certain activity outlined in the report or at least specific elements contained therein.
Nonetheless the full impact of the development on the independent space is yet to play out. The revelations will have shocked those who have benefited from the deep pockets of Envision, backed by Russian oligarch Vitaly Grigoriants.

Emmett/Furla Films will finance and co-produce three films based on Hasbro properties in the next two years says Deadline.
The first cab off the rank will be the film based on the board game "Monopoly" which they hope to get into production next year. Ridley Scott was previously linked as director, that's almost certainly not the case anymore.
The other two are thought to be "Action Man" and "Hungry Hungry Hippos". Brandon Grimes, Stepan Martisoyan and Remington Chase will co-produce the films while Emmett/Furla will co-finance.
Hasbro’s last overall deal was at Universal Pictures, a deal which only resulted in the big-budget flop "Battleship". Universal shed all its other Hasbro-based films in development after that, some of which have been picked up by others.

After making me almost bleed through the eyes with Battleship, now it looks like I have three more Hasbro products being adapted to film to look forwarded to. Still, it seems that Universal may have learned their lesson after Battleship got torpedoed by critics. According to Variety, Hasbro is teaming with Emmett/Furla Films to get Monopoly, Hungry Hungry Hippos and Action Man onto the bigscreen. The first going into production would be Monopoly, starting sometime in 2013. Stepan Martisoyan and Remington Chase of Envision Entertainment are serving as co-financiers on the projects with budgets at over $100 million. Emmett/Furla are co-producing all the films alongside Hasbro's senior Vice President Brandon Grimes, as well as Bennett Schneir of Hasbro Films.

I’m sure you already know what we’re talking about. 2 Guns, movie that comes from director Baltasar Kormákur is definitely worth our full attention, and not just because we have Denzel Washington and Mark Wahlberg in the leading roles.
This action movie is something we’re interested in because such a great team is behind the whole thing, and just in case you’re not so familiar with the plot, we’re here to share the official synopsis part with you…
Based on the Boom! Studios Graphic Novels created by Steven Grant, 2 Guns is a story of two operatives from competing bureaus who are forced on the run together. But there is a big problem with their unique alliance: Neither knows that the other is an undercover federal agent.
For the past 12 months, DEA agent Bobby Trench (Washington) and U.S. naval intelligence officer Marcus Stigman (Wahlberg) have been reluctantly attached at the hip.
