Character actor Richard Brake has a lot of success in his career, racking up almost 90 screen credits over the last thirty years. Those credits include roles in Cold Mountain, Batman Begins, Doom, Munich, and Hannibal Rising, so he started getting cast in major productions with some frequency rather early on. But it’s interesting to see how much more prolific he has gotten since playing The Night King in Game of Thrones and Doom-Head in Rob Zombie’s 31. About half of his credits have come just in the seven years since 31 was released. Next up for him is The Gates, where he co-stars with John Rhys-Davies of the Indiana Jones and Lord of the Rings franchises (in addition to over 250 other projects). The film is scheduled to receive a digital and VOD release in the US and Canada on June 27th, and a trailer for it can be seen in the embed above.

So, pandemic movies… we’re being inundated with them now it seems, at least when it comes to low-budget indie movies but pandemic vampire movies? That’s something new. Vampirus is the first pandemic vampire movie to hit streaming services, as far as I know, and it’s a very interesting take on the vampire genre let alone on the pandemic.
Vampirus follows our vampire protagonist, Eva (Ashleymarie Jones) as she tries to find food in a city during lockdown, only to get “caught” dragging a body home to munch on (like she’s been to the supermarket and bought groceries) by her upstairs neighbour Ace (Michael Holding). *full disclosure: an online screener of this film was provided by Indican Pictures. **there are mild spoilers here. Director: Eric Liberacki. Writer: John Lerchen. Cast: Scout Taylor-Compton, Michael Emery, Domenica Cameron-Scorsese, Ari Lehman and Naomi Grossman. The Lurker is a slasher film from writer John Lerchen (The Pale Man) and director Eric Liberacki (Spoiled Fruit). This film is scheduled for a Spring release and centrally stars Scout Taylor-Compton as the easy to remember Taylor. Taylor-Compton must carry most of this film as she appears in most of the scenes. And, these scenes primarily consist of a high school rendition of Romeo & Juliet, or of partying the night away. Meanwhile, a knife wielding critic is knocking-off most of the cast. Ari Lehman also stars, with much of the acting performed decently. A big character reveal comes in the final scenes, along with one or possibly two killers' motivations. The resolution comes with a flurry of.
