Raymond A. Boone
- Writer
Ray Boone, a Freelance Writer for Film and Television, was born in West Islip New York then raised in the small town of Mamaroneck, only thirty minutes outside of New York City. While growing up in what is known as "The Friendly Village", a place where people from different ethnic, cultural and religious backgrounds treated each other like family, provided Ray with a unique learning experience. Possessing a deep appreciation for his past, he decided to learn the craft of screenwriting at the School of Visual Arts in New York City and create on-screen images, promoting a multicultural and ethnic society. Also, employed as an Armed Officer for a private security firm. Ray was able to impress his professors, who are twenty-year film and television professionals, with stories from his on the job encounters and writing ability.
After developing a concept for a screenplay based on the FBI which received high marks and is still in development. Ray wrote a spec script for his all-time favorite show HBO's Entourage. Once his teachers reviewed the material they had a serious one on one discussion with him to pursue screenwriting as a career. Also, through the kindness of a close friend, the script actually reached the executives of the show. They made a quote to purchase the script, however, the decision to do so was later reversed. Discouraged but not giving up, Ray had another idea, to create an original series which will represent the law enforcement community as a whole.
"Walking Maris' Way" NYPD Detective Maris Ortiz sets herself apart from the typical stereotype of what it means being a law enforcement agent in today's society. Maris has a genuine heart and is devoted to making a difference in the lives of her fellow officers and the community she serves.
As a resident of the city of Los Angeles, Ray is able to concentrate on writing new material for several award-winning producers from both the east and west coast.
I am truly grateful for the support from family and friends who are Special Agents, State Troopers, Detectives, Police and Corrections Officers, Producers, and Musicians
