Earlier this year, it was revealed that frequent collaborators Ryan Coogler and Michael B. Jordan – who have worked on Fruitvale Station, Creed, Black Panther, and Black Panther: Wakanda Forever together as director and cast member, and have other collaborations that Coogler didn’t direct – have been developing a new project in secret. The project is set up at Warner Bros., is expected to have a budget of around $90 million, and is scheduled for a theatrical release on March 7, 2025. Coogler has been assembling Jordan’s supporting cast over the last couple of months, and Deadline reports that the latest actor to sign on is Lola Kirke, whose credits include The Leftovers, Gone Girl, American Made, Winning Time: The Rise of the Lakers Dynasty,...

No lie: Peacock is ordering a second season of Based on a True Story.
The NBCUniversal-owned streamer has picked up the series, a comedic thriller from UCP and starring Kaley Cuoco (who also executive produces) and Chris Messina. The first season debuted in June and earned mostly favorable reviews; detailed viewing data is, per usual with streamers, not public, but the series did land in Nielsen’s top 10 rankings for the week of its premiere.
Based on a True Story is, in fact, based on (or at least partly inspired by) a true story, while also satirizing true crime tropes. The series stars Cuoco and Messina as Ava and Nathan, a down-on-their-luck couple who cross paths with an infamous serial killer in Los Angeles. Ava, a true crime obsessive, hits on the idea of making a podcast with the killer as a way out of their rut.
The cast also includes Tom Bateman,...

Babylon is a movie written and directed by Damien Chazelle (First Man) starring Margot Robbie and Brad Pitt.
Babylon is a movie which from its failure in the box office recalls the echoes of Intolerance (1915), in which they built those sets with elephants that were so grandiose, in a film making style of another era and an impossible dream, disconcerting, ambitious and almost orgiastic spirit.
About the Movie
Babylon captures all of this spirit from a grandiose production which did not convince the more traditional audience.
Babylon (2022)
This movie tries to reconstruct the chaos experienced in the first Hollywood times, the arrival of sound, the excesses, disconcerting situations and the fight to not wake up from an impossible dream and, in some way, reconstruct that lost Babylon that the creator of modern cinema, David Wark Griffith tried to find too.

He continued: “I became fascinated with the idea of a relatable married couple whose youthful dreams hadn’t come to fruition and who saw the true crime tidal wave as an opportunity to change their lives and save their marriage. The decision to end the Sarah Shahi drama comes a month after the premiere of Sex/Life Season 2.
The cancellation is not surprising.
Shahi is set to headline the ABC pilot Judgement and the star went public this week about her challenging time with the material on the second season.
"I'm not going to put it down, but I definitely did not have the support that I did the first season from the people involved in the show," Shahi shared of her experience this week on Dear Media's Not Skinny But Not Fat podcast.
"It became a much different thing for me, and I'm not afraid to say that."
"I struggled with the material. I just felt the thing that it had the first season — I mean, I'm never gonna work for Netflix again now after saying all this,...

As the first season of Netflix’s Sex/Life wrapped up, our heroine Billie (Sarah Shahi) found herself in a bit of a pickle. On the one hand, she had Cooper (Mike Vogel), her drop-dead gorgeous, chiseled husband, a great father to her two small children with a lucrative job that was helping save the world. But the sex? Meh. On the other hand, she had Brad (Adam Demos), her drop-dead gorgeous, chiseled past love, a mega-rich music producer unfortunately burdened with abandonment issues that made him a bit of a douchebag.

Oscar-nominated “Everything Everywhere All at Once” actress Stephanie Hsu feels a lot of different things about her role in increasing representation, especially as she steps further into the spotlight.
“It’s hard enough to be an artist and it’s very hard to be an artist who’s marginalized in any way,” Hsu told TheWrap in our new interview series The Impact Report, focused on marginalized artists who are making an impact in their craft.
Hsu skyrocketed to fame in the past year thanks to her performance playing daughter to Michelle Yeoh and Ke Huy Quan in “Everything Everywhere All at Once,” and she says it was in this film that her mother finally saw the impact that Hsu’s acting had on other people.

The 2023 awards season is nearly to the finish line, and it’s now time to say hello to the 29th Screen Actors Guild Awards.
From “White Lotus” to “Everything Everywhere All At Once,” Hollywood’s biggest actors from TV series and films of the year will go head-to-head. And for the first time ever, the telecast will be via Netflix. Hosting the event is part of the streamer’s move into live programming, as the streamer has been developing its own livestream technology, which will officially launch with Chris Rock’s comedy special “Selective Outrage.”
Like the Globes, the SAG Awards recognize projects in both TV and film, and the titles are voted on by all SAG-AFTRA members who are in good standing and have paid their November dues by their respective due deadlines.

In the 27-year history of the ensemble film award (it was first awarded at the second ceremony), the movie with the largest cast has triumphed 11 times. The winning films are, in order, “Shakespeare in Love” (1998) with 12 eligible cast members, “Traffic” (2000) with 19, “Gosford Park” (2001) with 20, “The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King” (2003) with 19, “Slumdog Millionaire” (2008) with 11, “Inglourious Basterds” (2009) with 16, “The King’s Speech” (2010) with nine, “The Help” (2011) with 12, “Argo” (2012) with 13, “Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri” (2017) with 11 and “Black Panther” (2018) with 12.

One of the most surprising hits of 2021 on Netflix is returning next month.
The official trailer for Sex/Life Season 2 is here, and it looks like Billie will have a new love interest in mind.
The trailer also seemingly confirms that it's all over between Billie and Cooper.
"I'm not [upset], I'm just done," Cooper says.
Things aren't much better with Brad, either.
"I came to you six months ago with a ring," he tells her, adding the following:
"You said no, and now it's too late."
As for the new man in Billie's life, Majid (played by Darius Homayoun), he looks like a lot of fun.
The first season featured plenty of steamy twists that got the fans talking -- and streaming.
Will the show be able to live up to its moniker again for the second time?
We'll need to tune in when the series returns, but if the trailer is any indication,...
