Fourth generation Alaska, married to adventure, Dorene Lorenz has worked in the industry since the early 1980s. She is known for her ability to work well with animals, interacting on set with porcupines, hawks, bears, wolves, moose, musk ox, rabbits, caribou, elephants, camels, eagles, Stellar jays, deer, elk, cows, sheep, goats, cranes, horses, dogs, cats, foxes, and wood bison. Has not made friends with the reptile family.
A television and radio news director, talk show host, and main anchor in real life, with international experience and exposure. Lorenz has been published in several international, national and local newspapers, magazines and blogs. She has published one novel, Midnight Blue Noon, based on her time working for CBS Alaska.
Like most Alaskans, her career path has gone from legal to commercial fishing, mining to long shoring, politics to designing boutique hotels - offering her tremendous insight on a range of world views.
A enthusiastic traveler, Lorenz has engaged her passion of riding indigenous horse breeds in-country from Iceland to Pakistan - Panama to South Africa.
