Troyzan goes and Kim falters in the latest episode, and MTV News is back with former player Rob Cesternino to recap it all.

Few people would have predicted Greg "Tarzan" Smith to be the last man standing on "Survivor: One World," but that's exactly what's happened now that his similarly named competitor Troyzan is no longer in the game.
After an astonishing drop in likability paired with an equally stunning win last week, Troyzan redeemed himself (to a degree) on a personal level in the latest episode, at the expense of his life in the game. Now, six women remain: wishy-washy Christina, foul-mouthed Alicia, dim-witted Kat, savvy Sabrina, the seemingly unbeatable Kim and her partner-in-crime Chelsea — with only Tarzan representing the men of "One World," poop pants and all.
As the season moves toward the end game,...

On Sunday, Survivor: South Pacific comes to its conclusion. The season's been full of blindsides, big characters and some of the strangest strategic moves in recent memory (Ozzy asking to get voted out! Brandon handing over his immunity! Everything Cochran ever did!) Now there are six players left, three of whom will face the jury. The phrase "bitter jury" is redundant. All Survivor juries are bitter. They've seen their hopes for a million dollars and reality TV stardom crushed by the three people sitting before them. The question is - what are they bitter about? Juries all make their decisions on different criteria.

Here is Sean Furfaro's recap of Survivor Redemption Island - Episode 1.Survivor Redemption Island premiered with a bang tonight, showing that this new cast (while not as stupid as last season's bunch of morons) still has a Lot to learn. Rob's statement in the Tribal Council voting confessional was too perfect not to be the title of this recap.
Tonight’s recap is going to be my first impressions of this season’s cast, along with a few Random Thoughts at the end. To be fair, after only one episode, it’s hard to really tell anything about this cast…perhaps the person I think is going to be the NaOnka of the season, turns out to be the Purple Kelly of the season. And what did we learn about That last season? That you can be batshit insane, or not say a word for 2 months, and when you...

For many on Survivor: Nicaragua, it was easy to overlook Fabio Birza. He was fit, but not nearly as strong as Ben Henry and Chase Rice, and he spent 39 days on the beach perfecting the role of clueless surfer dude. But forgetting about Fabio turned out to be Holly Hoffman's biggest mistake. After he won his third immunity challenge and guaranteed himself a spot in the final three, Sash Lenahan and Chase were able to make stronger cases for themselves and Holly was the last person voted out. The 44-year-old swimming coach from Eureka, S.D., spoke with TVGuide.com about her big mistake, why she changed her vote and which on-air moments her family...

It's hard to make it through 39 days of "Survivor" without making enemies and it's even harder to make it through 39 days of "Survivor" and lose without feeling at least some bitterness. Case-in-point? Two consecutive seasons of Ranting Russell lamenting the flaws in the "Survivor" system that left him winless despite two seasons that he dominated on one restrictive level. On a similar level, Chase Rice and Sash Lenahan probably dominated "Survivor: Nicaragua." They betrayed friends, manipulated alliances and when they came before the jury, they faced a lot of angry bootees, who preferred Fabio's social game and...

Matthew Lenahan's nickname on Survivor: Nicaragua was "Sash," but he might as well have been called The Comeback Kid. He started out with a strong social game and an equally manipulative ally in Brenda Lowe. But after Brenda was blindsided, and after allies NaOnka Mixon and Kelly Shinn quit the game, Sash seemed destined to fail. Thanks to several key strategic moves, however, Sash made it to the final three. The only problem? The jurors favored emotional connections over smart plays and he received a stunning zero votes for the million dollars. The 30-year-old real estate broker from New York, N.Y. spoke with TVGuide.com about why he thought he could win, how Fabio Birza changed the game and his thoughts on Jane Bright's tribal council remarks...

For the first time in 1,000 years, I actually tuned in to CBS’ Survivor: Nicaragua. The reasons are completely beyond my control, though I think doctors refer to this disease as “having to much time on one’s hands.” The twist this season were that the teams were divided in an “Olds” and a “Youngs.” Though, by the time the final 3 rolled up, the “Olds” had already gotten in their “Oldsmobile” chauffeured by Gary Oldman back to Old Mountain while listening to “Old Me Now” by the Thompson Twins. The final three came down to Chase, whom you might remember as one of the Southerners chasing down Forrest Gump as a boy; Sash, whose pectoral muscles pulled a Spongebob floppy-arm days into their journey; and Fabio, real name Jud, a sort of ditzy-acting but entirely sweet, sugar-sweet, human being who loves his mother in ways that are simply astounding. I loved Fabio,...

Newsflash to all you haters: Survivor: Nicaragua was crazy interesting! Oh, not on TV of course, silly. (Though the lackluster season did slightly redeem itself with last night's lively final Tribal Council.) We're talking behind the scenes. We spent some time with the cast—and a few ghosts of seasons past—at their finale parties Saturday and Sunday night, and learned some juicy tidbits, such as: Sash is a lover and a fighter, Holly was living a lie and Fabio isn't always Mr. Nice Guy. Dan Lembo had some pretty harsh words for his fellow contestants Sunday night (Dec. 19) on the "Survivor: Nicaragua" finale. He tells Zap2it how he feels about Chase and Sash and that he is wearing Holly's cowboy boots with nothing else on. We think he's kidding.
You had some pretty harsh words for Sash and Chase during the last few days of the show -- Chase was surprised by them, but Sash was not. Was that more heat-of-the-moment or do you still feel that way about them?
"Nah, I'm not angry with them any longer. The game's over. Sash would never be a friend of mine, but Chase, as I said, dumb is forever. The guy's pretty dumb, but he's a nice a guy."
If Fabio had not made the finals, who would have gotten your vote?

The last woman standing on "Survivor: Nicaragua" Holly Hoffman tells Zap2it about her surprise the guys didn't take her to the finals and that her vote for the money changed during the final Tribal Council.
Were you surprised the guys took Sash to the final three over you? Chase said it was because Fabio wanted all guys to make it to the final Tribal Council and Sash was willing to do anything to make it to the end.
"I was surprised. I was trying my best to convince Chase to take me. I wasn't sure if Fabio was going to take me, but I should've communicated with Fabio earlier in the game. I kind of left him on the back burner and I shouldn't have done that. I really thought that Chase was going to vote out Sash. He had a hard time voting me out, I knew he...

Smiling, sneaky Sash Lenahan had burned too many bridges to garner any votes Sunday night (Dec. 19) on the "Survivor: Nicaragua" finale. He tells Zap2it that he thought he played the best strategic game and how he feels about Dan's harsh words for him and Chase.
Why eliminate Holly before the final three?
"Ya know, at that point you can't win the game unless you're in the final tribal, so I thought if I put on a good performance I had a shot at beating any of the remaining players. At that point I just wanted to get myself to the end and that was to go with whatever Fabio wanted, so it was an easy choice for me."
Did you think you had a shot to win going into the final vote?
"Yes, I did. I think I played the most textbook game of 'Survivor.' I don't regret anything.

The 24-year-old North Carolina native Chase Rice was one vote away from winning the million dollar prize Sunday night (Dec. 19) on the "Survivor: Nicaragua" finale. He tells Zap2it how he felt about Dan's harsh words, which contestants he wants to stay in touch with and what he thinks of the "Redemption Island" twist.
When it was the final four, why did you take Sash over Holly?

Did you think Holly was a threat to get jury votes?
"Not necessarily. She might have been able to steal a couple, but I thought I could win if I brought it and did a good job at the final tribal. Obviously, Fabio was the biggest threat,...

The smartest thing Jud "Fabio" Birza ever did was play dumb. It made for great TV and a hilarious nickname. And more importantly, it allowed him to remain underestimated by everyone on Survivor: Nicaragua. However, when Fabio's clueless façade left him out of Chase Rice, Matthew "Sash" Lenahan and Holly Hoffman's alliance, he physically stepped up with back-to-back-to-back immunity challenge wins and secured his spot in final three. Sitting next to Chase and Sash, two players known for breaking multiple alliances, Fabio killed them with kindness. The 21-year-old student from Venice, Calif., talked with TVGuide.com about his secret to success, what he hopes to do with the money and whether he plans to hang on to his new nickname.

Jud "Fabio" Birza is the king of Survivor: Nicaragua. We felt it was a well deserved win which represented a change in Jud's character and game play throughout the season. What do our writers think? Did the right person win? Could it have played out differently? What do we make of Redemption Island?
We're looking forward to hearing from our readers as well.
Did the right person win?
Kyle Kalember: The person I was rooting for by the end won, but that wasn't the question that was asked. I truly believe that Fabio deserved to win the game. He was just as deserving as any of the final three and I was happy with the outcome.
Dan Forcella: That is such a tough question in the game of Survivor. That's what makes this game so good: in any given season, the jury can vote entirely differently. I have been...

Another season of 'Survivor' has come and gone -- and I guess I can even say the person I was rooting for won. The thing is, I only starting rooting for Fabio two weeks ago, when I realized that the time to pick a favorite had long since passed. Sure, like a lot of people, I was rooting for the male model formerly known as Judson, but only from a dearth of options. What was I supposed to do? Root for 'villainous' Sash, whose claim to fame was getting Marty to give up an idol? Sash called himself a backstabber, but his mild-mannered play looked more like a back massage to me. Come on, guy! Villains are supposed to be evil!
Then there was Chase, who floated to the final four like a pretty princess, never really making any calls at all. And even Fabio,...

Los Angeles — Jud "Fabio" Birza romanced the jury to win "Survivor: Nicaragua."

At 21 years old, Fabio has become Survivor's youngest winner ever, winning $1 million, while the fan-favorite $100,000 went to Jane in "a blow out." Once Fabio, aka Jud Birza, won his third immunity challenge in a row, he was nearly guaranteed a win, though the actual vote was closer: five votes for him, four votes for Chase Rice, and zero for Sash, aka Matthew Lenahan. Arguably, Holly Hoffman could have won, which is why...

During the first tribal council of tonight’s season finale, Dan gave his reasons for why he felt Holly was a bigger threat than him.
Whether it made sense to you, me, the jury or anyone, Jeff Probst correctly pointed out that Dan’s perception of why Holly is a threat matters more than if she really was one.
This conversation very neatly summarized the way that Jud, Holly, Dan and, even to some extent, Chase, changed throughout the course of the season. If a vote took place even halfway through the game, none of these four would have been in the top three vote getters. Ironically, the one who would have been, Sash, was blanked in the finale.
Although Chase and Sash tried to argue otherwise at the final tribal council, the way Jud played the game most definitely is a viable way to play. Going with the flow,...

Here is Sean Furfaro's recap of the Survivor Nicaragua Season Finale You know when you’re watching a really crappy movie, and you need closure? You need to see how it ends? Or maybe you’re reading an absolutely horrible book, but you still need to make it to that final page? Or maybe you’re a marathon runner who has no shot of winning, or even finishing in a decent time…but you tough it out anyways and make it to the end? That’s the way I feel about Survivor: Nicaragua (ok, maybe the marathon runner analogy was a stretch, but you get the point), it’s been a struggle, but after 4 months of snake footage and breaking tiles, at least it ends tonight.
I’m back in the Eastern Time Zone, not having to wait that extra 3 hours for my Survivor fix, so let’s get right...

Jud "Fabio" Birza is the Sole Survivor of "Survivor: Nicaragua". The 21-year-old model from Los Angeles beat 24-year-old singer Chase Rice and 30-year-old real estate broker Matthew "Sash" Lenahan in the December 19 finale by gaining five votes from the show's nine-person jury of previous contestants.
That night, Fabio won his three straight immunities including the coin-stacking challenges. He also won fellow survivors' sympathy when giving a tribute to his family in the Tribal Council. In his opening statement on the final Tribal Council, Fabio said he was "himself" while Chase chose to boast about being the one who outwit and outplayed everybody else.
Audience got to see Marty voting for Fabio, Alina voting for Chase, Dan voting for Fabio and Brenda voting for Chase. When it was down to 4 to 4, host Jeff Probst called out the last vote which went to Fabio. He consequently won the $1 million prize.

Host Jeff Probst had a couple big announcements during the live "Survivor: Nicaragua" reunion on Sunday (Dec. 19).
The first was that quitters will now have some repercussions, like not being allowed on the jury. It will be up to the show to decide (Quitters are not the same as medical evacuations or extenuating circumstances, like, I would imagine, when Jenna Morasca quit because her mom with cancer had taken a turn for the worst.) Good. That was totally messed up that NaOnka and Kelly got to cast a vote after quitting.
The second announcement is a new twist in the game -- Redemption Island. When someone is voted out, they go to Redemption Island where they and the next person voted out will compete in a duel. One of them will re-enter the game -- but do they stay on Redemption Island and keep fighting, then get back in the game at some point?...

Jud 'Fabio' Birza has been crowned the winner of Survivor: Nicaragua. The 21-year-old from Venice, CA scooped the title of 'Sole Survivor' and the $$1 million prize in tonight's live season finale of the CBS competition. He beat out second-placed Chase Rice and third-placed Sash Lenahan. Holly Hoffman finished in fourth place, while Dan Lembo rounded out the top five. Tonight's episode began on Day 37 with the remaining five competitors reflecting on the last Tribal Council. Fabio admitted to Dan that he wanted to break up the alliance between Sash, Holly and Chase as they posed the biggest threat. The men then confronted Holly about possibly switching her loyalties to them in order to go to the final three. Fabio said that his game plan moving forward was just to win immunity in order to assure his continued presence in the game. However, Chase and (more)...

'Survivor: Nicaragua' finale: Jud 'Fabio' Birza, Chase Rice, Holly Hoffman or Sash Lenahan? Who won?
Were you surprised by the finale of the 21st season of "Survivor"? We were surprised by a few things, particularly how close the final vote was.
Immunity Challenge
After a season-recapping video montage and some boring strategy talk, the survivors head to the next Immunity Challenge. They have to answer questions about Nicaragua in order to get puzzle pieces, then assemble a puzzle for the win.
Holly, Sash and Chase are in the lead when they get to the puzzle. Dan and Fabio are in it, but far behind. Sash is good at puzzles and looks to have this in the bag, until Fabio masterfully gets his puzzle together and takes it. Wow, good for Fabio.
Pre-Tribal
Fabio is gunning for Holly and he starts working on Chase and Sash to vote her out. Chase seems to be pretty set on Dan because Dan hasn't made any enemies and will easily win jury votes.

Perhaps the most interesting thing to happen on Survivor Nicaragua happened off-camera, but it had some impact and consequence, at least according to a report. In an exit interview, Jane Bright told Fancast's Gordon Holmes that she voted for Sash "ecause of an incident that happened that night prior to Tribal Council." Asked about it, Jane says, "I can't talk about it. But I was saying you guys are making a big mistake. I'm writing...

Survivor: Nicaragua
8/7c CBS
Tonight's two-hour season finale promises lots of emotional fireworks as the five remaining castaways (Chase, Dan, Fabio, Holly, Sash) are cut down to the three players who will face the jury. But who will they be? Chase, Holly and Sash are in an alliance, which means Fabio needs to win the next two immunity challenges or he's jury bound. As for Dan, he needs to convince one or two of the alliance partners that they would be crazy not to take him to the finals because, frankly, no one is likely to vote for him since he coasted through the game and was never a threat to win anything. Following the season finale, the winner is revealed on the Survivor reunion special as the 20 castaways gather in Los Angeles to discuss the game. — Tim Holland

The 21st edition of "Survivor" is winding down. The final five going into Sunday's (Dec. 19) two-hour finale and live reunion show are three-person alliance Chase, Holly and Sash plus Fabio and Dan, who are probably goners if they can't pull off a miracle.
We could see Fabio winning Immunity twice in a row to spoil the alliance's plans, but we can't see Dan making a run at it -- unless he convinces one of the alliance members he is such a non-threat to win the money that they should take him to the finals.
Who do you like for the winner? If we had to bet money, under the assumption that Chase/Holly/Sash make the finals, we'd have to go with Chase, but Holly is a threat to win too. If Fabio manages to squeak in there, he'll win the million.
Vote now and don't forget to tune in Sunday night at 8 p.

Whether or not you've embraced her home-spun North Carolina wisdom, you can't deny that Jane Bright has been one of the most memorable characters in the slightly character-deficient "Survivor: Nicaragua" season. Whether she was starting fire without flint, flipping on her fellow "old" contestants to help crush the cocky Marty/Jill alliance or sneaking off into the woods to devour a fish she caught, Jane found a way to become one of the season's most featured contestants. And when she was voted out of the game -- betrayed by cautious Sash and Holly and spineless Chase -- she left with...

The ice-cold way that Sash, Holly and Chase cut Jane's throat on Wednesday's episode of Survivor was the perfect example of how loyalty and friendship get tossed in favor of risk assessment when it comes to the endgame. I know from experience that having to turn on your alliance can be heartbreaking. All those things you dreamed about together from day 2 are coming true - but only for one person. Rather than award a Fishy, I thought I would ask a few of Survivor's best strategists - Jt Thomas, Russell Hantz, Todd Herzog and more - what their endgame experiences were like.

The underdogs seemed to have an excellent opportunity at last night's Tribal Council to advance themselves further in what little time they have left on Survivor: Nicaragua. So what went wrong? It's simple, says the latest castoff, Jane Bright: "Men are weird." Twitter: Follow @KristinDSantos and @DruMoorhouse What happened at Tribal Council—why didn't you, Dan and Fabio take up Jeff Probst on his "suggestion" to vote out Holly? It didn't matter what Jeff was gonna say, [the vote] was written in stone pretty much before we left. Both [Dan and Fabio] had been told by Sash and Chase they were going to the final three, so they were not going to switch...

Jane Bright was blindsided on "Survivor: Nicaragua" Wednesday night (Dec. 15) when her own alliance that she thought was good until the final four turned on her. She tells Zap2it that she tried to get Dan and Fabio to side with her once she saw which way the wind was blowing, but they wouldn't.
Are you glad you went on "Survivor"? Was it everything you hoped it would be?
"And more. [laughs] You know, just the opportunity to be selected and be part of a team of 20 people, I thought was pretty awesome. Then to get out there, play the game, win some challenges, do good, I thought it was great."
Why were you, Fabio and Dan so upset about not being taken on the reward. Only three people got to go, Chase couldn't take everybody.
"He had already said he was going to take Sash because Sash hadn't been on any rewards.

We spent the majority of our review going over the follies of Jane and who are the favorites to walk away as the sole survivor on Sunday. But there's still plenty more to talk about from last night. Did Dan and Jud mess up by not voting with Jane? What was Probst doing interfering with the game at tribal council?
As always, we like to hear our readers opinions too.
Should Dan and Jud have tried to vote with Jane?
Kyle Kalember: As it turns out no. Jane just threw a vote to Sash and it would never have worked. I think the only play either of them had was to vote for Jane. Dan might need to scramble more than Fabio does. Fabio can actually win immunity, but Dan won't.
Dan Forcella: Yes! Not only are they too dumb to even come up with this as an idea, but...

If the family visits on last night's Survivor didn't wreck you, you may actually be dead inside.

After last night’s temper tantrum, I hope that anyone who was a Jane supporter is hiding in the shadows this morning, afraid to admit that they backed a woman who is 56 going on 5.
I haven’t been a Jane supporter since her ridiculous spat with Marty. Absurdly, she took his attempts to vote her out of the game as a personal attack. She refused to recognize his logic that she was a threat to win challenges and the game. Instead she responded in a manner only a fraction better than how NaOnka handles adversity. Unfortunately, she ultimately won out over Marty because was more of a threat to Brenda and Sash than Jane.
Since Marty’s ouster, Jane has calmed down a bit, made close friends with Chase and Holly and cried over a dead chicken. Then, Jud wins immunity and suddenly her head is on the chopping block again.

If you missed last week's episode, be sure to catch up with my recap here.
The episode begins with Libertad returning to camp. Sash pulls Fabio aside and tells him that Benry was gunning for him, and there wasn't enough time to tell Fabio about it. Fabio tells replies that he trusts Sash. In a confessional, Sash says that Fabio is just happy to still be there. Sash is in control of the game, and if Fabio doesn't win the next Immunity Challenge, he's the next to go. For his part, Fabio confides to the camera that he's aware that the everyone thinks he's gullible, but that's fine. He's on alert and watching everyone. When he is able to eliminate the rest of the players, they'll say, "What? I didn't know Fabio was that smart!"

It’s almost always emotional and on the rare occasions that it’s uncomfortable due to an odd family dynamic, you always learn something new about the Survivors. This season was pure emotion. Let’s review, shall we?...
