The second time was the charm for Cody Rhodes, who dethroned rival Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns in the main event of WrestleMania 40 Sunday in Philadelphia. WWE took over Lincoln Financial Field over two nights with the biggest question looming. Would the son of the “American Dream” Dusty Rhodes finish the story and do something his dad never did? Answer: A resounding yes. Cody’s wife Brandi Rhodes surprised fans in his entrance and gave him a kiss for good luck. The fans popped at the bell when champion and challenger came face-to-face, fully invested in what they’d waited a year to see one more time. From there, it was a slow burn before things picked up in a big way. Outside interference began with first Jimmy Uso and then Jey Uso. From there, it was Solo, who was neutralized by John Cena. Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson would...

The night of WrestleMania 40 day 2 shall always be remembered as Cody Rhodes finally finished the story against Roman Reigns. Pitted to have a face-off as per Bloodline rules, after losing the day 1 tag team match against Reigns and The Rock, Rhodes was almost expected to face trouble.

WWE has been around for several decades. Although the wrestling industry has thrilled fans worldwide, it is indisputable that being in the business is challenging. Notwithstanding the demanding nature of the business, several wrestlers and even families have contributed to the popularity of wrestling as a sport today.
And when it comes to wrestling dynasties, few families can match the Rhodes’ impressive record. From patriarch Dusty Rhodes to his sons (Cody and Dustin Rhodes), this wrestling family has left an indelible mark on the world of professional wrestling.
Having said that, the Rhodes family has a long history in professional wrestling, and its members risk everything in the ring to uphold that reputation. Cody Rhodes is already possibly superior to both his father and brother in terms of performance. The youngest son of ‘The American Dream’ rose to fame in 2006 when he began working for WWE.

Cody Rhodes has one of the most intriguing WWE storylines, one that has had fans captivated ever since its debut. However, despite the twists and turns that plague the story, fans have found a very unusual connection between the story that Rhodes is playing out and the storyline of Dinsey’s most popular animated story.
Cody Rhodes
Fans have equated the beats of the storyline that Rhodes has been following with Lion King, the seminal Disney classic that adapted William Shakespeare’s Hamlet for its young audience. The plot beats and the characters have been mapped out by audiences in a fun instance of comparative storytelling, something that has taken X by storm in the wake of this realization.

Exclusive: Wrestler Brandi Rhodes has been hosting cooking show Shot of Brandi on YouTube for the last four years. Now, she’s looking to step up to television and has partnered with Scream and Teen Wolf producer Diga Studios to achieve that.
Rhodes and Diga are looking to turn the project, which sees her cook and chat with celebrities and in and out of the wrestling ring, into a half-hour television series. Diga is currently taking the project out to broadcasters and streamers.
It comes as Rhodes and her husband Cody Rhodes recently left the All Elite Wresling league (Aew), which airs on TBS. The pair were also the stars of TNT reality series Rhodes To The Top.
Rhodes was also previously a ring announcer and backstage host for WWE and appeared on Wags Atlanta.
It is the latest non-scripted series for Diga Studios, the company run by former MTV programming chief Tony Disanto.

In the midst of huge news regarding the release of Aew stars Cody and Brandi Rhodes, Stone Cold Steve Austin returning, and The Undertaker going into the 2022 Hall of Fame, was one of the biggest shocks of the year: Shane McMahon quietly being released from WWE. It’s an odd situation because the son of Vince McMahon was featured in the 2022 Royal Rumble and actually made it into the final three. Reportedly, there were plans in place for Shane to have a high profile match at this year’s WrestleMania, which is nothing new at this point. Instead, claims have

The former Chief Brand Officer of Aew has had an interesting path in professional wrestling. While her husband, Cody Rhodes, was born into the business thanks to his father Dusty, Brandi never started out with the intention of becoming a wrestling athlete. Though she was very competitive prior to her wrestling experience, she was mostly signed to Florida Championship Wrestling due to WWE’s past edict of preferring model instead of female talents with wrestling experience. Brandi Rhodes had a grand total of one match during her two stints with WWE and left the second time due to Cody Rhodes’s exit.

In a huge week that saw a rare interview from Brock Lesnar, Executive Vice President Cody and Brandi Rhodes leaving All Elite Wrestling, comes the news that former multi-time WWE Champion Stone Cold Steve Austin may wrestle for the first time in over 20 years. Welcome to this review of Aew: Dynamite which emanates from Chicago, home of Cm Punk. We’ve got a bunch of highly anticipated matches on this card and someone very nice, very evil making his second appearance!
Match #1: Jon Moxley def. Wheeler Yuta
My Thoughts: This was a last-minute change to this weeks card after Brian Kendrick was pulled from the show following the controversy that arose on social media regarding his signing. And guess what? Wheeler Yuta pulled one out of the bag and gave a fantastic performance against Moxley. He looked a lot better and he wrestled on another level compared to what we’ve seen before. A brilliant opening match.
My Score: 3 out of 5 Match #2: Brody King and Malakai Black def. Penta El Zero Miedo and Pac
My Thoughts: If there were ever wrestlers you could say will Always deliver great matches it’s these four guys.

Match #1: Lance Archer def. Chase Oliver
My Thoughts: We’re back to Lance Archer throwing his opponents to, and around, the ring in a total squash match. This was essentially another win-record building match and an excuse for Archer to get on the mic afterwards.
My Score: 1 out of 5 Match #2: Brandi Rhodes def. KiLynn King
My Thoughts: Well that was a bullsh*t win for Brandi Rhodes. King could quite easily wipe the floor with Mrs Rhodes but instead was made to make Brandi look good on her build-up to the main event scene. There are a few women who have worked for Aew that have been hard...

Match #1: Leyla Hirsch def. Brittany Blake
My Thoughts: Always glad to see Leyla Hirsch in a match, no matter the show. Here she takes on Brittany Blake, making her Aew debut, in a match that saw Hirsch feel more like a babyface than the heel she’s being pushed as in her feud with Kris Statlander. Not that she didn’t have a mean streak here – as she always does =- but it felt like commentary were behind her rather than Blake, who should have been this matches babyface.

With Excalibur and Taz on comentary Jones as usual, let’s get to the review!
Match #1: Gunn Club def. Lee Johnson & Brock Anderson
My Thoughts: I have my issues with the Gunn Club, especially when they turned heel, but I have to give them credit here – they looked really good and made Anderson and Johnson look good too. This one was a real back and forth, so much so that you really couldn’t judge who wa going to win this one. The heels stole it (literally), which is a good thing as that leads to a possible rematch/feud going forward.
My Score: 2.5 out of 5 Match #2: Abadon def.

Match #1: Lee Moriarty def. Mysterioso
My Thoughts: Fresh of his fantastic match against Cm Punk, Lee Moriarty is back on Aew programing in another great match, this time against Mysterioso – who looked good in defeat, delivering some great offense on Moriarty and some near-falls. Both men worked well together, Taiga-style seemingly well-matched by Lucha Libre wrestling. Eventually Moriarty hit a flatliner Ddt on Mysterioso for the win.

Jumping back into the ring full-time after seven years away is a shock to the system — and Cm Punk knows it. This Friday on Aew Rampage (airing at 10/9c on TNT), he is set to take on Matt Sydal, whom he last wrestled about a decade ago when they were both working for the WWE.

Cody Rhodes and Brandi Rhodes are something like the king and queen of Aew (it gets a little tricky with Tony Khan being the pro-wrestling company’s literal president). Mike “The Miz” Mizanin and Maryse certainly consider themselves WWE royalty — so how is the former wrestling couple’s new basic-cable reality show “Rhodes to the Top” going to be distinguishable to the average viewer than the latter’s “Miz & Mrs”?
It was certainly not going to be the wrestling, marital hijinks or new-baby-girl thing that differentiated the two programs. So we asked the Rhodeses. As Cody put it, the answer lies in the TNT program’s “unprecedented” backstage access.

All Elite Wrestling power couple Cody and Brandi Rhodes have had a life-changing year—one that will be chronicled in the upcoming new TNT reality series Rhodes to the Top. Brandi gave birth to a daughter, Liberty, in June, but episodes will also give viewers an inside look at those stressful and at times emotional months leading up to her arrival. Here the dynamic duo opens up about their filming experience. How did it feel having cameras capture your personal life? How would you say it tested your relationship? Friday night is wrestling night, and we don’t mean for the remote control.
TNT’s new Aew: Rampage has released the first trailer for its new wrestling show, which debuts Friday, Aug. 13. The show marks the third hour of Aew weekly programming on the network. Aew: Rampage is filmed in front of a live audience each week.

Tonight’s episode of Aew Dynamite delivered another special announcement for soon-to-be parents Cody and Brandi Rhodes. TNT has ordered a new unscripted series, Rhodes to the Top, from Warner Bros. Unscripted Television in association with Shed Media.
The new series will go inside the lives of Cody and Brandi Rhodes as they navigate their growing family while building Aew’s global wrestling empire.
Each 30-minute episode will offer a behind-the-scenes look inside and outside the ring. All of the drama wrought by a crew of wrestlers, family, and friends who both support and test them at every turn will be featured.
Married in 2013, Cody and Brandi will now face their newest and possibly biggest challenge yet.

TNT has ordered a new docuseries about Aew’s Cody and Brandi Rhodes, the network announced during “Aew Dynamite” on Wednesday.
The half-hour series, titled “Rhodes to the Top,” will “take viewers behind-the-scenes as the powerhouse couple manage their ever-busier lives inside and outside the ring, all the while surrounded by a colorful and often hilarious motley crew of wrestlers, family and friends who both support and test them at every turn,” according to TNT.
Married in 2013, Cody and Brandi revealed their pregnancy during an Aew appearance in December.
The new series expands the relationship between the Rhodes and TNT, which airs the two-hour “Aew Dynamite” every Wednesday. Cody currently serves as the league’s executive vice president, and Brandi, the first Black woman to hold an executive position in a pro wrestling company, is chief brand officer. Cody also serves as a judge on “Go-Big Show” at TNT sister network TBS.

Welcome to this week’s All Elite Wrestling: Dynamite review, right here on Nerdly. I’m Nathan Favel and we have Kenny Omega fighting Joey Janela for a title shot…Joey’s title shot…screw it. Why don’t they just come right out and explain that this is a shot at a title shot for Joey? World Title Eliminator? They didn’t make it very clear that it was an extension of the actual Eliminator Tournament from just a month or so ago. The instupidable Tony Khan has confused me with his instupidableness, so I’ve contacted a recent addition to the Nerdly wrestling family to handle the review this time:
Wrestling! Wresssssssstlinnnnnng!!!!!!! Brad Britch here! Brad Britch loves wrestling! Aew has wrestling! Yeahhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!! I hate therapy! That’s not wrestling! My wife says I’m obsessed. Bull-s—! I like wrestling! You’re reading about wrestling. Stop Iiiiiiit!!!!!!!! Go Watch Wrestling!

Match #1: Ftr (Cash Wheeler & Dax Harwood with Tully Blanchard) def. Best Friends (Chuck Taylor & Trent) – Aew World Tag Team Title Match The following is courtesy of allelitewrestling.com:
Wheeler took Chuck Taylor off his feet with a big shoulder tackle. Dax was tagged in and he continued to work over Chuck’s wrist and arm. The announcers mentioned the “Tully” factor and the newfound edge it has brought to Ftr. “Ftr love to dictate the pace but they’re having some problems with the challengers,” said Jim Ross as Trent chopped away at Dax. Ftr took full advantage of the referee’s ten count as they made their quick in-and-out tags. Ftr’s effective tandem offense was on full display early on.

One year ago, All Elite Wrestling debuted its weekly series “Dynamite” on TNT. It marked the first time in years that a professional wrestling promotion other than WWE had aired on a major U.S. cable network. Many fans were thrilled at the prospect of reigniting something akin to the rivalry between WWE and WCW of years past, while others felt this upstart promotion would barely make it out of the starting gate.
One year and a global pandemic later, Aew is still going strong. The company has delivered consistent wins in the television ratings and on pay-per-view while also continuing to grow its roster and further define its brand. Much of that is due to the passion those at the top of Aew have for the product, which is palpable when hearing them speak about it.
“I don’t have children, so this is my child,” says Cody Rhodes,...

Welcome to this special review of All Elite Wrestling: Late Night Dynamite, right here on Nerdly. I’m Nathan Favel and we have three matches to cover on this review of this special on hour card. I even bought an elephant to mark the occasion. Late Night Dynamite starts…Aaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!
Match #1: Scorpio Sky def. Ben Carter The following is courtesy of allelitewrestling.com:
The action kicked off early on this Late Night edition of Dynamite with our opening contest—highflying specialist Ben Carter vs. Scorpio Sky! “Scorpio Sky is one of the best athletes here in Aew, really multifaceted, and this is the biggest test of Ben Carter’s career thus far,” noted Excalibur. They began with some impressive chain wrestling. Carter managed to catch Sky with a Steamboat-esque armbar. “He went for it earlier but Sky moved out of the way. This is impressive,” observed Le Champion Chris Jericho.

Welcome to this week’s All Elite Wrestling Women’s Tag Team Cup Tournament: Deadly Draw review, right here on Nerdly. Actually, this Semi-Final edition ought to be the last of these, because Aew is putting the finals of this tournament on the Saturday broadcast of Dynamite. The women have done a nice job of keeping this show from becoming some sort of feminist movement and, instead, just have done their part to look like competitors in a tournament. I bring that up because Brandi Rhodes keeps trying to make everything with the women into a #MeToo fiasco everytime she’s on camera. If you want the women to get over, then book them simply and consistently, like what Impact Wrestling is doing again with the Knockout’s division. Okay, the rant is over. We’ve got the semi-finals for the Deadly Draw tournament coming at you, like all those...

Match #1: The Young Bucks (Matt & Nick Jackson) def. The Dark Order (Evil Uno & Stu Grayson) The following is courtesy of allelitewrestling.com:
During their entrance, the Bucks were ambushed by the minions from The Dark Order! “It’s all about the numbers,” said Jim Ross, as the Bucks were outmanned. The Dark Order used their symbiotic offense on Nick Jackson. “Mr. Brodie’s leadership is really paying off here,” noted Jim Ross. Matt tagged in and took out both members of the opposition with a double clothesline!

Since its inception last year, Aew has been a company that relies on records on and statistics. It’s an analytical approach to wrestling that has made Tony Khan’s promotion stand out against WWE, whose booking often feels directionless and without any continuity.
But Aew finds itself falling into the same traps as WWE sometimes.
Mjf is set to challenge Jon Moxley at the All Out pay-per-view next month. Mjf is a future star, there’s no doubt, but Aew has done little to get him ready for a main-event push. Again, in a company where wins and losses matter, and where there are rankings and supposedly a strict system to who gets title shots and who doesn’t, Mjf’s record just doesn’t seem worth of a world title match.
Sure, he hasn’t been pinned or submitted, but let’s look at who he’s faced.

Welcome to this debut review of All Elite Wrestling’s Women’s Tag Team Cup Tournament: Deadly Draw – Night One, right here on Nerdly. I’m Nathan Favel and this tournament is a part of an overall initiative to increase the appeal of Aew’s Women’s division, which has struggled to make a mark like the men’s wrestling has in that same league. We’re getting WCW’s BattleBowl: The Lethal Lottery/Tna’s Joker’s Wild rules here, with partners randomly being paired together as opposed to teams being made naturally. Let’s see if this comes together as something worth remembering, or is just Home Alone 3.
Match #1: The Nightmare Sisters (Brandi Rhodes & Allie with Dustin Rhodes & Qt Marshall) def. Mel & Penelope Ford (with Kip Sabian) – Quarter-Final Match
My Opinion: 2.9 out of 5 – This was cool, with Allie kicking ass and Mel doing pretty well as well.

Welcome to this week’s All Elite Wrestling: Dark review, right here on Nerdly. I’m Nathan Favel and I’m writing this out of order, so I can say a bit about the numerous accusations of sexual misconduct (to put it very lightly) from wrestlers all over the world. Just because there are a plethora of deviants in wrestling, that doesn’t mean you have to quit wrestling or be ashamed to watch it, but it does mean that it’s gonna leave a bad taste in your mouth for a while. As many pigs as there are in wrestling, it would seem we also have many who are good people as well. Jordan Devlin may be a monster, but Daniel Bryan (Bryan Danielson) seems to be a good man, by and large. Marty Scurll might be a scum-bag, but Jeff Hardy has a great reputation (his drug addiction...

Also, there are a shit-load of perverts who have been allegedly revealed, including Jim Cornette & Synn, Dave Lagana, Jordan Devlin & numerous others in Nxt UK and David Starr (along with Alberto Del Rio a few months back and Jay Lethal numerous times over the years). The stories are horrifying and include male and female victims. If you are reading this and have ever been abused, don’t hold that sh*t in. Say that sh*t so everybody can see it and it can’t be hidden anymore. Every time someone gets away with a crime, that leaves them available to hurt more people. Hell, if anyone ever felt like I had ever done anything to them, I’d want them...

Welcome to this review of All Elite Wrestling: Double Or Nothing, right here on Nerdly. I’m Nathan Favel and we lost Hana Kimura, Shad Gaspard and Larry Csonka. Shad and Larry have GoFundMe pages you can donate to here and here. When I was Pam Grier, my sweet, black ass always loved to watch half-naked people grab each other real hard and I’m doing that now as Double Or Nothing begins…now.
Match #1: Best Friends defeated Private Party
My Opinion: 3.4 out of 5 – This was a sparkly match. Sparkly is the word I’m sticking with…sparkly out the ass. While no Steiners/Road Warriors clash of maniacs frenzy, this was an encouraging sign for Aew’s tag division, as Pp did better than they have in the past, while the BFs line-danced their way to the win.
Match #2: Brian Cage defeated Darby Allin, Colt Cabana, Orange Cassidy,...

Welcome to this week’s Aew: Dynamite review, right here on Nerdly. I’m Nathan Favel and I pulled my vagina. The TNT Title tournament is in full-swing, which is fine as long as the stick doesn’t explode when it comes back this way. As I piano-key my teeth in case this dynamite explodes near my face, why don’t you read the review?
Match #1: Cody Rhodes defeated Darby Allin – TNT Championship Tournament Semi Final Match The following is courtesy of allelitewrestling.com:
Jericho said he was impressed with the previous performances in the match between Darby and Sammy Guevara, as both wrestlers left everything they had in the ring. It showed how important the TNT Championship is to both of them, and everyone in the tournament. Shawn Spears was watching behind the ringside barrier, still stewing over his loss to Cody. Cody and Darby locked up in the center of the ring.

Welcome to this week’s Aew: Dynamite review, right here on Nerdly. I’m Nathan Favel and we’ve got more phantom zone matches to get to, which is actually quite entertaining to me. Having no crowds has been very liberating and I hope it starts to become a trend when the crowds do get to return. Okay, we’ve got a Aaa title match to get to, so shaddup and…read? That’s a let-down. Just go watch the matches instead, you kook.
Match #1: Cody Rhodes defeated Jimmy Havoc The following is courtesy of allelitewrestling.com:
Brandi Rhodes was the ring announcer tonight! She gave Cody a kiss as he entered the ring. Havoc got Cody down with some leg sweeps, and an arm drag. Cody used his bulk and brawn to push Havoc into the corner, but Havoc rolled through for a near fall. “I think the...
