- Alison fell in love with acting at the age of 9 after watching the original Peter Pan movie. she would job off the back of the sofa trying to fly, She started making up plays with her friends and performing them for the neighborhood kids charging them 25 cents.. Her first "real play" was "A Stone in the Road" performed at the Des Moines Community Theater.
Her family moved to Minneapolis when she was 13 and they enrolled her in the summer program for kids at the Guthrie Theater. That's where she fell in fell in love with the smell of the theater and the excitement of having a live audience
The next year her family moved to Northern California where she did her first lead in a play. She played Helen Keller in the Miracle Worker. and got a standing ovation. The reviews said "alison, playing Helen Keller has uninhibited talent " That's when she knew she had found her calling.
She continued doing plays in high school and then went to Chapman University in Orange Calif, where She majored in theater. She did many plays in Orange County Calif at the Newport Theater Arts Center, Razz Ma Tazz dinner theater and the GEM theater. and then moved to Los Angeles to try her hand at commercials and TV. She had a national commercial and worked on several low budget movies before she got married and got out of the business while raising her children. But continued taking classes.
She studied with Milton Katselas at the Beverly Hills Playhouse back in the 70's.. She also had the privilege to train with great teachers Gordon Hunt, Mike Fenton, Mark Malis, Joanne Baron, Clu Gulager ( studied acting in horror movies) a Master Class with Dustin Hoffman and many more. She is always taking some kind of class. She has also studied VO with Elaine Clark from 'Voice One' and character voices with Terry McGovern .
Finally, back in 2003 she lost 210 lbs ( her ex-husband ) and with her kids now grown, she moved back to Los Angeles in 2016 and is now back to doing what she loves.
She has completed two indie films back to back and several commercials and is looking forward to working on lots of great new projects.

She is a fantastic cook, swing dancer and avid traveler to far and distant places that others dare not go. Loves unusual locations with interesting people and food.

- Her nickname as a kid was Lissy.
- She was a Go Go dancer in Japan for a year.
- Was a Go-Go dancer in Kobe Japan at a club called the Vivien Lee club. They spelled her last name Lee not Leigh because the owner said the Japanese would not be able to pronounce Leigh. The locals would follow her and her partner around Kobe asking to take pictures and for autographs..
- Spent 2 semesters on Semester at Sea where she was trapped in Taiwan for 2 days due to a Typhoon causing her to miss the ship. The locals took her and friends in and fed them and helped get them to Hong Kong to connect with the ship. In Hong Kong a local told her and friends he was taking them to a special restaurant .It turned out to be a local brothels' with live shows. They left quickly and ran. In Bali they went to a small restaurant on the beach and were told to try the mushroom omelet. It was really good and turned out it had "magic mushrooms" . They laughed the rest of the day, everything was funny. Many more great experiences were had.
