We’re less than a month away from one of WWE’s biggest events ever. But tensions started to rise even before the final showdown. Recently, Amanda Huber, wife of the late Aew star Jon Huber (Brodie Lee), called out Dwayne Johnson for his insensitive comment on Cody Rhodes.
Dwayne Johnson (via his X account)
Huber, who works with Aew as a community outreach coordinator, criticized Johnson for talking about Rhodes’ age gap with his siblings when The Rock’s own kids have a 20-year difference.
Simone is Johnson’s eldest child, born in 2001 to his former wife, Dany Garcia. His youngest daughter, Tiana Gia Johnson, was born in 2018.

There have been countless wrestlers who have included spooky, undead, or horror imagery into their personas, but no one has ever done it quite like Windham "Bray Wyatt" Rotunda, who tragically passed away at the age of 36. It's impossible to overstate the brilliance Rotunda brought to the ring as Wyatt, elevating the art of wrestling to that of horror cinema. His character work was unmatched and he took risks that often felt impossible in a company known for its micromanaging and supervillain leadership. He shot for the moon and even if the gimmick didn't land right away, he never gave up on figuring out how to make it work. Few of his peers were that brave, ever. Over the course of his career in WWE, Bray Wyatt truly became the new face of fear, and incorporated horror into the world of wrestling in a way that no one before him ever could.

Betty Gilpin is ready for war ... with an algorithm.
Peacock on Tuesday released the full trailer for Mrs. Davis, the new drama series from Tara Hernandez and Damon Lindelof.
Gilpin plays Simone, a woman who goes on a mission to fight back against the algorithm.
It's a confusing concept, sure, but the official trailer teases an action-packed adventure with a stellar cast.
Mrs. Davis is described as "an exploration of faith versus technology — an epic battle of biblical and binary proportions."

It’s Monday morning, so you know what that means, it’s time for this week’s review of Aew: Rampage! This week’s show was broadcast from the Entertainment & Sports Arena in Washington, D.C. and featured Excalibur, Chris Jericho and Jim Ross on commentary… Now let’s get to the review!

Another week, another episode of Aew: Dark which, after last week’s short five-match card, is a whopping 11-match show..! Let’s just say I prefer the shorter shows. Let’s get right into the review!
Match #1: John Silver & Alex Reynolds def. Zuka & Alexander Moss
My Thoughts: I’m in a constant state of worry about the current 4-man roster of the Dark Order. It seems like the further away from the death of Brodie Lee, the more Tony Khan seems to be abandoning this team. I do sometimes wonder if not for their connection to Hangman Page, would they all still be in Aew? Which is a shame because the Dark Order, and in particular John Silver & Alex Reynolds, always deliver great matches – even on Dark and Elevation!
My Score: 2.5 out of 5 Match #2: Emi Sakura def. Avery Breaux

The death of Jon Huber, who wrestled in WWE as Luke Harper and more recently in Aew as Brodie Lee, shook the sports-entertainment world in late December 2020. It wasn’t so much his in-ring ability (which was highly respected and decorated) or even his age that brought most of the men and women who literally look like comic book superheroes to their knees: Huber was known to be a true family man in a business that isn’t exactly built for family men.
While we had a wrestling’s Mt. Rushmore-level legend on the phone, TheWrap asked “Stone Cold” Steve Austin for his thoughts on Huber’s very untimely passing.
“I just absolutely couldn’t believe it because the guy was a tremendous hand in the business, but he was a sweetheart of a guy,” Austin said. “When he was in WWE, we would talk every now and then on...

We’re only a few days out from ending a year that has been insanely rough on quite a few people, and the losses are still coming for many. While the Covid-related losses continue to occur according to the media, whether they be true or not, it’s been stated that Jon Huber, aka Brodie Lee, aka Luke Harper, did not pass away from Covid-related issues, but instead passed from lung issues that he’d been battling for a while. Jonathan Huber, a professional wrestler with both WWE and All Elite Wrestling who was best known under his ring names Brodie Lee and Luke Harper, died Saturday from undisclosed causes. He was 41.
His death was made public by All Elite Wrestling, with whom Huber had been signed since March.
“The All Elite Wrestling family is heartbroken. In an industry filled with good people, Jon Huber was exceptionally respected and beloved in every way — a fierce and captivating talent, a thoughtful mentor and simply a very kind soul that starkly contradicted his persona as Mr. Brodie Lee,” the organization said in a statement.
“Jon’s love for his wife Amanda, and children Brodie and Nolan, was evident to all of us who were fortunate to spend time with him, and we send our love and support to his beautiful family, today and always,” the statement continued. “Jon’s popularity among his...

When it comes to indie flicks, I try not to go into them with many expectations. The only expectations I have is to not judge them as I would a big budgeted film. The reason for that is with a big budget film directed by big directors, you have more of a sense of what to expect and higher expectations, since a company picked that particular person to drop loads of cash on and trusts him or her to deliver them a huge cash-grabbing hit. With indies it’s either one of the first films from a director and a self-funded project. Well these days they can also be funded by sites like Kickstarter. What indie films and big studio films do have in common are that they try to tell a story (most of the time) and have hopes that audiences will love what they put out. The indie...

As feature debuts go, director Ted Geoghegan’s 2015 ghost story We Are Still Here was a real kick in the ass: a slow-burn throwback to the work of Lucio Fulci that spent most of its running time building dread and atmosphere before exploding into outrageous gore in its go-for-broke climax. Beyond being an extremely effective haunted house movie (my favorite horror movie of that year), it was also a sad and atmospheric meditation on grief and loss—there was a genuine emotional backbone to the story, making it just as involving as it was scary.
For Mohawk, his 2017 follow-up that recently screened at Chicago’s Cinepocalypse film festival, Geoghegan has done it again, sneaking a real human story into thrilling genre fare. This time out, though, the human story is even more pronounced given its roots; Geoghegan has moved away from the supernatural horror of We Are Still Here and...

The depiction of Native Americans in the movies is notorious for its reductive stereotypes. By those standards, “Mohawk,” a bloody, low-budget survival saga about members of a flailing tribe facing off against brutish American soldiers during the war of 1812, arrives like a revelation. The sophomore feature from Ted Geoghegan is a far cry from the haunted house tropes of his debut, “We Are Still Here,” but it explores a much more realistic horror — the struggle to survive against ruthless persecution, even as the future looks grim.
It’s a fast-paced action-thriller that, while rough around the edges, delivers a wild ride — and an implicit rebuke to the limitations of Hollywood storytelling.
The movie, which premiered at the 2017 Fantasia International Film Festival, revolves around the plight of Oak (Kaniehtiio Horn), a young member of the Mohawk tribe in upstate New York, and the two men with whom she enjoys a polyamorous...

It’s time once more for Wrestlemania the biggest professional wrestling and sports entertainment event for fans and performers that there is. This year the event is held in Orlando, the home of Nxt – where a lot of the current roster of superstars got their start -and as usual (at least on paper) the card doesn’t seem that great. But that’s the thing with the WWE’s biggest pay per view, there’s always surprises: especially when it comes to Wrestlemania moments…. So with that lets get into Wrestlemania 33 – starting with the usual 2-hour kick off pre-show, which this year features the Crusiserweight Championship match the the now-annual Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royale.
Wrestlemania 33 Kick-Off Show Cruiserweight Championship Match: Austin Aries vs Neville
Aries has the upper hand early in the match, hitting a spinning elbow on Neville off the middle rope, sending him to the outside.

Another Valentine’s Day is over for another year and what better way to celebrate the holiday than by talking about professional wrestling. WWE SmackDown Live! is over for another week. Coming out of the Elimination Chamber Pay Per View, how did the Blue Brand of the WWE stack up this week?
I enjoyed the match between Becky Lynch and Mickie James. This was the match these two should have had on the Elimination Chamber Pay-Per-View. The match these two had just two days later had more impact because one, the action in the ring was solid from bell to bell and two, the right person ended up winning the match. In order for people to take Mickie James seriously for her return, she has to get some wins over credible opponents. This match against Becky Lynch was great to showcase Mickie being a ruthless villain. If they are going...

In my 25 years as a wrestling fan, Royal Rumble has always been one of my favourite annual events. The opportunity to see a bunch of your favourite WWE stars and the potential for surprises make it a night to keep an eye on. This year has some interesting matches, and the Rumble itself it set to be a star-studded affair featuring a handful of veteran names from the past, primarily Goldberg, Brock Lesnar and The Undertaker.
The Kick-Off show matches began with the women of Smackdown Live going at it in a six-woman tag team match. It was a shame that this seemingly got bumped from the main show, and I hope more effort is given to the women’s division on Smackdown soon. There are seperate feuds going on, so maybe we will see multiple women’s matches at the next Smackdown Live exclusive PPV. Nikki Bella, Naomi and...

Smackdown Live! is over for the week. The Blue Brand of the WWE builds it’s roster towards the Royal Rumble. On this episode, we had John Cena face off against Baron Corbin as well as a Tag Team Championship Match between American Alpha facing off against The Wyatt Family. To top things off, we had an encounter between Dean Ambrose and The Miz. How did this week’s show fare?
I have to say, the tag team match was a bit of a disappointment. We had American Alpha in their first real test as Smackdown Tag Team Champions against The Wyatt Family and for the most part, the champs were an afterthought in the match. I get why that was. They wanted to focus on the tensions between Luke Harper and Randy Orton. Yet in doing so, they sacrificed a chance to make the new Champions look like they deserve the titles.

The Blue Brand of the WWE closed out its year as Smackdown Live! aired on the USA Network. Promising title matches, the WWE wanted Smackdown to go out on a high note. Did it deliver?
The show started off with the return of John Cena. Coming off a lengthy break that saw him season two of his reality show American Grit on Fox as well as guest hosting Saturday Night Live, only the third wrestler to do so after Hulk Hogan and The Rock, he arrived to announce that he would be facing the WWE Champion in a title match at the Royal Rumble.
This has annoyed me about the WWE for a while now. Yes, this is a scripted show. But this scripted show is about a fictional sports league. In a real sporting organization, such as Ufc, you don’t have someone show up and suddenly declare they...

Tommy Dreamer and Baron Corbin could be surprise entrants in tonight’s third annual Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal at WrestleMania 32.
Wrestling Observer Radio’s Dave Meltzer noted today that there’s at least one surprise entrant expected in the match tonight and those two names were rumoured the strongest.
Former Ecw favourite Dreamer last appeared for WWE several months ago during The Dudley Boyz’s hardcore-style feud with the Wyatt family where he competed in a couple of matches in the last few weeks of 2015.
Corbin, who lost to a debuting Austin Aries at Friday night’s Nxt Dallas: Takeover show, has long been touted as a strong candidate for the main roster and perhaps an appearance in the Battle Royal tonight will be the beginning of a permanent switch to Raw and SmackDown.

If you came into Monday night expecting a big, exciting, action-packed episode of Raw to fire up the crowd and pique interest in WrestleMania, then you weren’t alone, and you certainly weren’t alone in being disappointed. Raw delivered a big goose egg for the most part Monday, combining poor match quality with minimal storyline development – which actually is more of a function of most of the angles being played out in the weeks prior.
What we were left with Monday was a series of matches that had no consequences other than filling up three hours of programming while everyone tried to avoid getting injured climbing between the ropes. After watching Luke Harper go down with an injury last week, it’s understandable if the locker room is suddenly apprehensive about losing their WrestleMania payday.

Mike Johnson of PWinsider reports that word circulating backstage at the WWE live event at Madison Square Garden this weekend suggests Luke Harper’s injury lay-off could be lengthy.
Apparently the knee-injury is deemed far more severe than initially feared and it’s now looking like he’ll be out of action for up to six months.
The injury occurred during a dark match at this past Monday’s Raw in Philadelphia after the show went off the air. The bout was an eight-man tag featuring all four members of The Wyatt Family against Roman Reigns, Dean Ambrose, Dolph Ziggler and Sami Zayn. After landing awkwardly, Harper tagged out of the bout and spent the rest of the match lying outside the ring being attended to.

Tyler Breeze is the latest name to be added to the third annual Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal that will air during the WrestleMania 32 pre-show.
Breeze’s addition makes it 7 names that are confirmed for the contest. The other names are; Kane, Curtis Axel, Adam Rose, Bo Dallas, Heath Slater and last year’s winner Big Show.
With 8 matches confirmed for the show which takes place in just over a week’s time, it seems unlikely that any more bouts will be added to the card, meaning that if you aren’t in the Battle Royal, you’re probably not getting on the show.
Notable wrestlers without a match on the card yet include the whole Wyatt family of Bray Wyatt, Braun Strowman, Luke Harper and Erick Rowan (though there are injury concerns over both Bray and Harper).

Cesaro is scheduled to make in-ring return next month as part of WWE’s post WrestleMania live tour in Europe.
Wrestling Observer’s Dave Meltzer reports that he will replace Neville, who recently suffered a fractured ankle on the tour.
Cesaro tore the rotator cuff in his left shoulder back in September. Despite working through the injury for two months, the pain became unbearable and surgery was obviously needed.
The King Of Swing wrestled his last match for WWE on November 17th at the SmackDown tapings against The Miz. The night before that, Cesaro lost a match on Raw to Roman Reigns in the WWE World Heavyweight Championship tournament.
Originally diagnosed with a four to six month recovery timetable, Cesaro looks to come back right in the middle.

There’s still no official update on the condition of Luke Harper following the injury he sustained during last night’s post-WWE Raw dark match in Philadelphia.
Not televised for viewers at home, the special main event of the night saw The Wyatt Family battle Dean Ambrose, Roman Reigns, Dolph Ziggler and Sami Zayn.
Before the match really got underway, Harper’s knee is said to have buckled and WWE trainers came rushing out to see to him. Clearly in pain, Harper was punching the floor before then being helped to the back by Braun Strowman and Bray Wyatt at the conclusion of the match.
Wrestling Observer’s Dave Meltzer reported on his post-Raw review podcast that Harper was immediately taken by ambulance to a nearby hospital but it’s not yet known the full severity of his injury. WWE.com have yet to acknowledge the situation.

Dave Meltzer reports in this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter that Bray Wyatt is suffering from a significant back injury.
This likely explains why the advertised match at Saturday’s Roadblock WWE Network special that was originally scheduled to be Bray Wyatt vs. Brock Lesnar was changed at the last minute. It ended up being Wyatt and Luke Harper versus Lesnar in a handicap match where Bray didn’t even tag himself in.
It’s not known yet what type of rehab Wyatt will need to go through in order to get back in the ring, nor is it known how long he will be out of action. The injury was reportedly suffered last week. Bray wrestled at Raw on March 7 in a No Dq bout against Dean Ambrose and the SmackDown tapings on March 8 in an eight man tag; he hasn’t wrestled since.

The Road to WrestleMania ran through Hershey, Pennsylvania Sunday night as the Superstars and Divas of World Wrestling Entertainment performed at an non-televised live event.
In a co-main event, Aj Styles challenged Kevin Owens for the WWE Intercontinental Championship while Kane and Big Show battled The Wyatt Family’s Erick Rowan and Braun Strowman in a Tornado Rules Hershey Street Fight. Yours truly was in attendance to witness those two bouts, as well as the rest of the action WWE unleashed on the Sweetest Place on Earth.
A show so close to WrestleMania, I could not wait to see what the reaction would be for some of the company’s biggest stars and the stories they would tell.
Needless to say, I was surprised by what I encountered.
What were the fans in attendance like? How were the performances of the men and women after a long weekend of work and travel?...

The Wrestling Observer Newsletter is reporting that Brock Lesnar will be taking on Bray Wyatt at WWE Roadblock, a WWE Network-exclusive event airing live next weekend.
Heading into the Royal Rumble, it looked like Lesnar and Wyatt were headed for a collision course at WrestleMania. The Wyatt Family laid out Lesnar on the final episode of Raw before the Pay-Per-View, sparking speculation regarding WWE’s booking direction. Sure enough, fuel was added to the fire at the Rumble – Lesnar eliminated Luke Harper, Erick Rowan, and Braun Strowman from the match, but when he squared off with Wyatt, the underlings rushed the ring and dumped Brock out.
Most fans expected that The Wyatt Family would cost Lesnar victory in the main event of Fastlane, but WWE decided to go in a different direction, using the bout to add fire to a new feud between Lesnar and opponent Dean Ambrose.

Update: The Newcastle Arena website is advertising The Undertaker will be teaming with Big Show to take on Erick Rowan and Luke Harper.
Original story:
The Undertaker will be coming to Newcastle for the UK WrestleMania Revenge Tour on April 20. He’ll also be appearing at the London Smackdown show on April 19, as well as dates in the rest of Europe at Malaga, Paris, and Brussels. F4wonline reported that he’ll be wrestling on these shows.
The development is a surprising one, particularly since so many fans were convinced he’d be retiring on April 3 at WrestleMania 32 in Dallas. Far from being done, he’s now set to be more active than he has been in a long time.
WWE added him to the shows in order to boost drawing power. The strength of his name and the rarity of his house shows make these European dates very hot tickets.

Last night on Raw, Dean Ambrose confronted Triple H and demanded a shot at the COO’s WWE World Heavyweight Championship.
After an assault on “The Lunatic Fringe,” Hhh agreed to the match, but didn’t name a time or place.
Today, WWE has filled in the blanks, announcing that the bout will take place on their Network’s live “Roadblock” special.
Previously titled “March to WrestleMania: Toronto,” the show has been renamed to better reflect the “road” metaphor WWE uses each year prior to the show of shows. Toronto’s March To WrestleMania special on WWE Network could feature some big names from Nxt. The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports Dash Wilder, Scott Dawson, Enzo Amore, Big Cass and Sami Zayn are scheduled to appear on the show, which will take place on March 12.
It could just be the case they’ll be doing dark matches, or maybe they’ll be filming Nxt matches, but there’s a chance that it could be the wrestlers moving up to the main roster.
