Paramore have announced Re: This Is Why, a remixed and reworked version of their latest album out this Friday, October 6th.
The band described the project as “almost a remix album” in a statement on social media. “We’ve long wanted to recognize the connection we have with some of the artists who’ve influenced us as a band and/or who have cited our band as an influence,” they shared. “Some of the songs have been remixed sort of classically, while others were reworked or rewritten. It’s incredible to hear all our worlds colliding.” Pre-saves for the album are ongoing. See the artwork below.
The announcement comes after Paramore shared snippets of remixes of songs (via The Line of Best Fit) from the original album, This Is Why, on their Discord server, including “Thick Skull” featuring Julien Baker, “Liar” with The xx’s Romy on vocals, Remi Wolf’s take on “You First,...

Olivia Rodrigo is well-known for writing songs that lead to rumors. A lot of her entire first album, "Sour," was rumored to be about her "High School Musical: The Musical: The Series" costar Joshua Bassett, but Rodrigo and Bassett have never actually confirmed or denied whether that's true. Now, Rodrigo's sophomore album "Guts" is here, and fans once again think she's targeting a star in some of her lyrics. This time, though, that celeb is none other than Taylor Swift.
When asked about the alleged feud, though, Rodrigo denied the rumors to Rolling Stone in a Sept. 12 feature, telling the outlet that "I don't have beef with anyone." She did, however, admit that she was "caught off guard" by having to retroactively give Swift and other artists songwriting credits on some of the songs on "Sour." Here's an overview of what happened.

The singer’s fans believe the new song is about a possible fallout with Taylor Swift.
Olivia Rodrigo‘s highly anticipated sophomore album, Guts, has taken the music world by storm, with fans praising her witty lyrics and emotional depth across its 12 tracks. However, it’s one song, in particular — “The Grudge” — that has ignited intense speculation and fan theories about a potential fallout with her idol, Taylor Swift.
Rodrigo’s song, “Vampire,” released in June, was the first glimpse into what fans could expect from Guts. Almost immediately, some listeners theorized that the track might be inspired by a rumored rift between Rodrigo and Swift, a relationship that had initially started with admiration and mutual support.
The roots of the speculation trace back to Rodrigo’s debut album, Sour, released in May 2021. Swift was credited on the album track “1 Step Forward, 3 Steps Back” due to its interpolation of Swift’s 2017 song,...

During a Paramore concert, singer Hayley Williams removed two of the fans from the show.
This occurred last week at Madison Square Garden when a disagreement happened between the two people. She told them “to find somewhere else to take care of that shit because that’s not happening here tonight, this is our house.”
Videos of the altercation have been circling on various social media platforms, including TikTok.
She has now apologized for the way she spoke to the fans and posted a statement on Paramore’s Discord.
In the statement she tried to explain why she acted this way: “My insides were triggered from numerous personal experiences not fit for a blog post or a microphone on stage at an arena. My outsides were trying to maintain control of a situation I felt that myself and my bandmates were responsible for. Without the opportunity for a proper back and forth,...

The only thing more jarring than watching an illustrious band tear apart at the seams in real-time is being in the band itself while it’s happening. This was Hayley Williams’ experience as Paramore began to fall apart following the release of their third studio album Brand New Eyes, in 2009. Within a year, guitarist Josh Farro and drummer Zac Farro had departed, and the external perception that followed suggested that Williams was the one poisoning the band from the inside out.

"Well, she lives in a fairy tale," declares Hayley Williams in the opening lyric of "Brick by Boring Brick," a 2009 single by Paramore, initially released as part of their third album "Brand New Eyes." Williams continues belting out, "Somewhere too far for us to find, forgotten the taste and smell of a world that she's left behind."
As the song continues on for another four minutes, the fairy tale allusions continue; one of them is a title drop: "Well, make sure to build your home brick by-by boring brick, Or the wolf's gonna blow it down."
However, the opening verse establishes the song's key theme right off the bat: retreating into your imagination is like refusing to grow up. The Pov character realizes she must bury her childhood fantasies to escape her dream world. The song's music video reflects this, alternating in focus between Williams herself and a young girl...

Paramore have removed former band member Jeremy Davis from the artwork of their self-titled album.
Released in 2013 and featuring the singles “Now” and “Still Into You”, Paramore featured album art showing Davis, singer Hayley Williams and guitarist Taylor York stood against a black background.
On Tuesday (15 November), Kerrang reported that the picture had been swapped out on streaming for an image of a person with red hair (presumably Williams) wearing a denim jacket emblazoned with the words “grow up”.
It is not known when the album art was changed, but many fans have speculated that it is a move to further distance themselves from Davis.
The bassist left the pop punk band in December 2015, having previously departed then returned in 2005 and 2007 respectively.
Months after his final departure, the musician sued Paramore twice, claiming he wasn’t fairly paid for his contributions to the group. The lawsuit was settled in May 2017.

It was the middle of June when more than two dozen songwriters, producers, and publishing representatives poured into an expansive, secluded creator’s “compound” just outside of Los Angeles’ wealthy Brentwood neighborhood. For three days, from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., they wrote songs — in between catered meals and fierce games of corn hole in the estate’s backyard — to shop around to A-listers like Doja Cat, Ariana Grande, and Cardi B, who could turn the tunes into lucrative anthems. It was, essentially, a summer camp for hitmaking. There was...

Flea, the rambunctious bassist for the Red Hot Chili Peppers has revealed through an interview with Spinner that he recently thought about quitting the band and leaving his tighty-whitey stage antics behind him.
He said he asked his compatriots for a two year sabbatical in order to regroup his thoughts. “We’ve been going really hard for a lot of years with small breaks here and there, but never a major break,” Flea said. “And I just felt like I wanted to take two years away just to really look and see if the band was something we should be doing.”
Flea attributes his friendship with lead singer Anthony Kiedis, which dates back to childhood, as an inspiration and big reason for his decision to continue making music. “I said, ‘Together let’s do this, let’s make this album, I love you, and let’s f**king rock.

"You" can be a worrisome word. A weighty one. By its very definition — "the one or ones being addressed" — it is up for interpretation, and when it's used in a song, things get even more muddy. Does "you" refer to the listener or the public at large? Does it take the place of the subject of the lyric, someone who has wronged, inspired, doubted, betrayed the writer? Or does "you" even have to be a person? Couldn't someone "want" or "love" a refreshing beverage or an old car or, you know, drugs?
Shoot, now that we're on the subject, maybe we're never supposed to figure out who or what "you" is referring to (the classic example, of course, being Carly Simon's "You're So Vain," which...

Former Paramore star Josh Farro and the editors of British rock magazine Kerrang! have entered into a war of words after the guitarist accused them of misquoting him in a new article. The rocker has denied saying he doesn't miss being in the band in a new interview, but the publication's bosses insist they have him on tape saying just that.
In an angry tweet on Wednesday, March 9, Farro, who quit the band at the end of 2010, wrote, "The words 'I don't miss Paramore one bit' Never came out of my mouth."
"We've got the interview on tape," The Kerrang! editors fired back. "If you'd like to hear it back we can post it online," which prompted Farro to respond, "Psalm 9", a reference to a biblical passage about righteousness.

Rocker Josh Farro is delighted he quit Paramore last year because life away from the band is "great". The guitarist and his brother, drummer Zac Farro, walked out on the rock group after a show in December, blaming their tense relationship with frontwoman Hayley Williams.
He now admits the seeds of the siblings' departure were sewn when he stopped dating Williams in 2007 - and he's confessed he hasn't spoken to her, guitarist Taylor York, or bassist Jeremy Davis since quitting. Farro tells Kerrang! magazine, "I don't think that'll (speaking to his former bandmates) happen for a while. I hope that one day we can reconcile, but I really don't care to be in some war with them. Whatever."
"It's still fresh (but) I don't think I miss it at all. I don't miss it one bit. That's just being completely honest. It's been nice to unwind! (There's been) drama, but some of that's inevitable.

After leaving Paramore last year, Josh Farro is now ready to move on. He wishes his former band the best in their future endeavors and follows the footsteps of his brother Zac Farro by focusing on his new project. Josh's new band is named Novel American, and he plays guitar in it. The other members Van Beasley, Tyler Ward and Ryan Clark will sing, play drums and play bass respectively.
"I met these guys in high school," he told MTV. "We got together, we wrote and we jammed, and it was great, so we decided, 'Let's do another band.' The last big piece of rock news in 2010 was the revelation that Paramore had lost two key members. Brothers Zac and Josh Farro, both of whom were founding members of the group when they first got together, announced via a fair and balanced statement put out by the band that they were leaving. A few days later, guitarist and songwriter Josh Farro released his own statement that talked about exactly why he and his brother were defecting. Those issues mostly centered around singer (and former Josh Farro gal pal) Hayley Williams, her over-bearing mom/manager, the fact that she was signed to the group's label deal as a solo artist and the idea that Paramore were "a manufactured product."
The news tore through Paramore's extensive online fan community and sharply divided their followers. Some sided with the Farro brothers, citing issues the group had been having since their inception. Others...

Franklin, Tennessee — There really wasn't much left to say.
After Paramore's "Last Word" interview, they had already discussed their reactions and responses to the Farro brothers' "Exit Statement," plus revealed how the inner-workings of Hayley Williams' and Josh Farro's relationship made their way onto the band's Brand New Eyes album. So now, the only thing still left on the table was their inevitable return — and, as you can probably expect, this was the topic they had been waiting to weigh in on the entire time.
Because, really, Paramore have already begun to put the Farros behind them, with a tour of South America scheduled for next month and a batch of demos in the hopper. And, as they told us, fans are going...

Franklin, Tennessee — On December 30, MTV News traveled to Paramore's hometown of Franklin, Tennessee, to conduct the band's first — and only — interview about the departure of founding members Josh and Zac Farro.
It was a far-reaching, in-depth chat, covering topics like faith, friendship and the very future of the band itself. The discussion was frank, open and even a little eye opening, and no topic — including frontwoman Hayley Williams' relationship with Josh Farro and the status of Paramore's deal with Atlantic Records — was off limits. And as proof of that, we're presenting the entire interview to you now, complete with a full transcript. Take a seat, because it's a doozy.
MTV: Well guys, thank you, obviously, for inviting us in today.

After addressing her alleged failed solo career, Hayley Williams talked about Paramore's "Brand New Eyes" which Josh Farro claimed to have led them "all growing further apart" instead of getting closer. She admitted "majority" of the album is about the guitarist that she once dated.
"I would say that a large majority of those songs, yes, have to do with the relationship we had and then that we had to mend," she told MTV. "And it was really hard, because we were all friends, and then going through a breakup and going through any kind of tension as a band really affected all the lyrics. ... There are a lot of specifics that I pulled from my experience with just feeling like my face was underneath a boot all the time."

Hayley Williams has insisted that Paramore are "not a manufactured band". Talking to MTV News, the frontwoman rebuked former guitarist Josh Farro's claim that they are the "product of a major label", saying that the group have always made a concerted effort to work hard for their success as well as to create an authentic musical experience for their fans. "We're not a manufactured band. We've dealt with that rumour for a long time... We've always talked about that... saying, you know, when we started, I again fought for something that (more)...

Paramore have revealed that their last album was about the rocky relationship with their former bandmates. The group recently admitted that they were "hurt" by comments made by Zac and Josh Farro, who quit the band after criticising frontwoman Hayley Williams, but have since revealed their last record Brand New Eyes addressed the breakdown of their friendship with Josh. "I would say that a large majority of those songs, yes, have to do with the relationship we had and then that we had to mend," Williams told MTV. Franklin, Tennessee — In his "Exit Statement" from Paramore, Josh Farro made one thing abundantly clear: There was a lot more going on behind the scenes than most fans were aware of.
Of course, in their interview with MTV News — which you can see more of in Paramore: The Last Word," a live stream on MTV.com on Friday at 4 p.m. Et — the remaining members of the band addressed most of his charges (not surprisingly, they don't agree with most of them), but in kicking up all that dust, Farro may have unwittingly also revealed the biggest secret of all: that the majority of the songs on Paramore's 2009 Brand New Eyes album were about him.

Another sneak peek to MTV's forthcoming special "Paramore: The Last Word" is offered by MTV. While the previous one talked about their feeling over the break-up mess, this new snippet digs deeper into what really happened to the band. Were they really used as "hired guns" by Hayley Williams and put "in the dark the whole time?"
From Josh Farro's point of view, Hayley quit the band in the beginning of their career because she attempted to pursue a solo career but failed and rejoined them. They then did demos together, but they were never included in negotiations with record label. Eventually, it was Hayley, not Paramore, who got signed, and he felt the band were only used to showcase her.
Hayley now speaks up, saying that she never used the band to boost her alleged failed solo career because she had already been offered a record deal when...

Hayley Williams has insisted that she never wanted to be a solo artist. Talking to MTV News, the Paramore frontwoman blasted comments by former bandmates Zac and Josh Farro which claimed that they were treated like "second-class citizens" and that Williams was the sole focus of the label's attention. "When I was 14, I was offered a contract, but my heart wasn't to be a solo artist; my heart was to be in a band. I mean, since I [was] a kid, I've always just wanted to be in a band. I didn't even want to be the singer; I wanted to be the drummer, so I could be behind everything," she explained. "That's what I fought for, and that's (more)...

Hayley Williams has revealed that she feels "hurt" at comments recently made by ex-Paramore bandmates Zac and Josh Farro. Williams, who was criticised by the brothers for being treated differently from the rest of the group, said their outburst "sucked" and was shocked when she heard the remarks. "I don't know if I got a phone call or an e-mail, but I woke up to it, basically, and that sucked, and I was not happy," she told MTV. "And yeah, it hurts, because what we were told was that they weren't happy, they didn't want to do this, and you can't be mad at someone for not feeling something. "But then when it really became about all these other things, I was very surprised and kind of felt led on, (more)...

Franklin, Tennessee — Paramore are not a real band. Hayley Williams is a glorified solo artist and an easily manipulated one at that. Brand New Eyes, the group's to-the-brink-and-back 2009 album, did not close the Tennessee-size divides that had emerged between Williams and her mates (as she had previously told MTV News); it only made them larger. The album was not a new beginning but, rather, the beginning of the end.
So claimed Josh Farro, in his now-infamous "Exit Statement" from Paramore, which turned what had been an amicable separation into a nasty, venomous split. Understandably, the remaining members of the band — Williams, guitarist Taylor York and bassist Jeremy Davis — were hurt by Farro's words,...

Franklin, Tennessee, is not exactly the kind of place you find yourself visiting twice within the span of 14 months (unless you really love chili cook-offs), and yet, I did.
In September 2009, I flew down there to spend the day with Paramore, who were on the verge of releasing their Brand New Eyes album and were, as I put it, poised to become "the Kings and Queen of the South." That probably didn't happen, but boy, did I believe it at the time. Paramore are ready to move on after splitting from Zac Farro and Josh Farro. They have started making demo for their next studio album and preparing for their South American tour. But they want to start this New Year and do those things in the right way by first clearing up dirty laundry aired by the Farro brothers.
In an interview with MTV, Hayley Williams admitted the whole thing upset her. "There's been a lot of things said online, especially in the past week, and it sucks ... it sucks to read it, and it also sucks to know that responding isn't really going to help, online, because things travel so terribly on the Internet," the frontwoman said.
Backing up Hayley's statement, Taylor York said they knew the mess was coming, so they have to just face it. "It was a drag. ... Once we released our statement, we all knew they would probably release something.

The rock world is still sorting through the wreckage of the departure of Zac and Josh Farro from Paramore, which apparently had been in motion for months but was just announced when the holidays rolled around. The full story is starting to come together thanks to an exclusive interview with the band that MTV News has begun to roll out this week. MTV News' James Montgomery met up with the band at singer Hayley Williams' home in Franklin, Tennessee just before the turn of the new year for an exclusive in-depth conversation about the brothers' exit and the remaining band members' reactions to what they said on their way out. It will all culminate with "Paramore: The Last Word," a special live streaming show about the past, present and future of the one of the biggest, most vital young bands in the country.

After splitting from Zac Farro and Josh Farro, Paramore are forced to find replacements since they are set to go on a tour across South America this year. Justin York is hired to serve as guitarist and take Josh's place, and Josh Freese is tapped to fill in Zac's shoes and play drums.
Instead of joining as permanent members, Justin and Josh are booked only for the upcoming South American tour. Frontwoman Hayley Williams wrote on Twitter, "Neither Josh freese nor Justin York are joining as members, just helping us for the South American tour :)"
Justin is a former guitarist of Tait and brother of Taylor York, while Josh has played for The Vandals and A Perfect Circle. They will kick off the tour with the three remaining members of Paramore beginning February 16 in Brazil and stay on the road with them at least until March.

Rockers Paramore are moving on from the recent departure of the Farro brothers by starting work on a new album. Josh Farro and his brother Zac Farro, who founded the group with singer Hayley Williams and bassist Jeremy Davis in 2004, left the band earlier this month, playing their last their show with the group in Orlando, Florida on December 12.
Josh subsequently spoke out about the siblings' decision to quit, accusing Williams of taking over and causing arguments. He also claimed working with the vocalist on the band's last album, 2009's "Brand New Eyes", sparked their departure: "We fought her about how her lyrics misrepresented our band and what we stood for, but, in the end, she got her way."

Here's hoping that Hayley Williams didn't get everything she wanted for Christmas, as she still has today's birthday haul to consider. The Paramore singer is now 22 years old, and like many internationally-renowned pop stars her age, she has crammed quite a bit of life into those two decades and change.
Born and raised in Mississippi, Williams moved to her adopted hometown of Franklin, Tennessee when she was 13 years old. It was there the seeds of Paramore began, as she met recently departed bandmates Zac and Josh Farro at school. Though she initially attracted attention as a songwriter and a solo artist at age 14, she wanted to stick with a band. Thus, Paramore was born and signed to Fueled By Ramen. The buzz began slowly for Paramore, though their debut album All We Know is Falling did pick up some attention because of its carefully-crafted but still-edgy pop tunes and its sassy frontwoman.

Josh Farro is not happy with the statement posted on Paramore's official site about his exit with his brother Zac Farro. He slammed frontwoman Hayley Williams for not making the announcement a joint statement, but rather writing it from her point of view and releasing it without his permission.
"I had a statement typed ready to post to you guys but Hayley released one without my permission. We were not going to issue a statement until we worked out our exit agreement with Hayley," he started. "I did not think Hayley's version told the whole story, at least from our perspective and hopefully this will explain a bit about why we are leaving."
In the previous open letter, it was mentioned that "for the last year it hasn't seemed as if they [Josh and Zac] wanted to be around anymore," so the departure was not surprising for Hayley, Jeremy Davis and Taylor York.

Josh Farro has criticised former bandmate Hayley Williams, saying that other members of Paramore were treated as "less important" than the singer. The guitarist, who confirmed his departure from Paramore along with brother and drummer Zac this weekend, posted a statement on his blog which attacked Williams and the band's management. Zac Farro has already moved on from his split with rockers Paramore - the drummer has reportedly launched a new band days after he quit the group. The band hit headlines on Saturday, December 18 when Zac and his guitarist brother Josh Farro, who founded the group with singer Hayley Williams and bassist Jeremy Davis back in 2004, announced their show in Orlando, Florida on December 12 was their last with Paramore.
Zac recently admitted he desperately missed his family while on the road, while Josh sat out one of Paramore's tours earlier this year to spend more time with his fiancee ahead of their wedding. But according to Altpress.com, the star is now performing as part of a new act, Tunnels, with musician Jason Clark. New track from his project has also been made available for stream here.

Last week, rumors started circulating that there may be a shake-up among the ranks of Paramore, one of the most popular rock bands on the planet. By the time the weekend rolled around, we had confirmation that brothers Zac and Josh Farro (the drummer and guitarist, respectively) had left the band to pursue other musical interests. The other three members of Paramore — singer Hayley Williams, guitarist Taylor York and bassist Jeremy Davis — will soldier on as a band, which will include tour dates in South America early next year and a new album the group just told MTV News about.
"We never for a second thought about leaving any of this behind. We really hope that you can be encouraged by the fact that the three of us who are still here are ready to take on another chapter of our journey together," a statement from the three remaining members read on the band's website.
