BBC children's presenters were reportedly told to alter their dress code before going on air.
Cbbc executive editor Melissa Hardinge revealed that some presenters were told to wipe off red lipstick and swap clothes in order to stop them looking "too sexy".
"Sexualisation of girls is something we take incredibly seriously," Hardinge said at a BAFTA event last night (January 28).
"We try to show fantastic female role models. The older end of our 6 to 12 age groups are very interested in relationships, and we have to show positive role models and the correct way of going about having relationships."
Dionne Bromfield and Shannon Flynn - hosts of Friday Download - were named as presenters who were reprimanded for their dress sense.
When asked what presenters' outfits were tackled, she added: "We take that very seriously. We know that a lot of young girls will look at how our presenters are dressed - and no,...

Los Angeles, Sep 15: Singer Dionne Bromfield has claimed she still feels "connected" to her late godmother Amy Winehouse, who tragically died two years ago.
Winehouse died in 2011 aged just 27, and the 17-year-old singer claimed she still has moments when she feels that her mentor is watching her.
"I still feel connected to Amy. When you lose somebody, no matter what, they're always going to be with you," contactmusic.com quoted Bromfield as saying.
She added: "You might not physically be able to see them, but they will be there. I'm very superstitious, so when things happen, I think, 'Hang on, that was meant to happen for a reason' or 'Oh my God, is that Amy?' Or even dreams. I've had dreams so close to reality.

London, Feb 3: Amy Winehouse's goddaughter Dionne Bromfield, who is on a pilgrimage to St Lucia, said that she wanted to continue the troubled singer's legacy.
According to Bromfield it is an awful lot of pressure but also a massive compliment to think that she could carry it.
The 17-year-old said that she was the last person she was with her on stage and automatically people felt like it said something.
To get inspiration for her third album and pay tribute to Amy, who died on July 23, 2011, Bromfield made the emotional journey to the Caribbean island, Winehouse's second home.
Her pilgrimage included a tear-jerking.

Washington, Dec 14: Dionne Bromfield believes she has 'two personalities' - one that she presents to adults and the other for hanging out with her teenage friends.
The 15-year-old singer has learned how to behave around older adults in her professional career, but insists she is just a normal teenager when she is with her friends.
"I think I've got two personalities. I know how to present myself if I'm with older people, but when I'm with my friends, I'm the most immature person ever. But I think that's just being a teenager," Contactmusic quoted her as telling the new issue of Look magazine.
