Colleen Keane is an award-winning producer. Born and raised in Brooklyn, New York,
Colleen began her entertainment career at the CBS Inc. offices. She escaped to Southern
California to pursue her dreams of working in the film industry.
She now has more than 20 years (and counting) of experience in various functions, most in the legal departments of studios and productions companies. Her wide variety of experience, such as two years at Imagine Films, 12 years at New Regency Productions as well as tenures at MGM/UA, Energy Productions, Live Home Video and more than four years at Regent Entertainment, encompasses positions such as production coordinator, paralegal, contract administrator, clearance administrator, credits administrator, music administrator and, most recently, as Director of Legal Services where her primary function was the legal delivery of films. She has also touched on marketing duties as well. This varied experience has made given her the ability to work a film from pre-production through distribution and into peripheral release. The more than 100 films Colleen has worked on include "Parenthood," "Heat," the "Free Willy" series, "Time to Kill," "Fight Club," "Empire Records," "Mr & Mrs Smith," "Natural Born Killers," "Man on Fire," Academy nominee "L.A. Confidential" and the 2009 Foreign Film Oscar winner from Japan, "Departures."
As a producer, Colleen has worked on several projects over the past few years: a dramatic short, "Obstruction," written and directed by Paul Marius Hansen and starring Ulrich Thomsen; a documentary, "In the Name of Love," by director Jon Bang Carlsen and Danish producer, the Oscar nominated Helle Ulsteen; and a short sci fi by Swiss filmmaker Robert Kouba, "The Rift". Most.recent was the award-winning short film "Our Father" which screened at the 2015 Cannes Film Festival and the feature 'Last Call at Murray's."
