Jamie Nieto was born in Seattle, Washington. Nieto was raised as an only child in a single parent home in Sacramento, California. Nieto is an Actor, 2-time Olympian, and former professional Track and Field Athlete. Nieto is a 2-time Olympic finalist and was ranked in the top 10 in the world on more than one occasion.
After high school, Nieto attended Sacramento City College, and Eastern Michigan University where he earned a full scholarship in athletics. Nieto is a 4-time National Champ, 3-time World Champ Team Member, 3-time Pan Am Team Member, 3-time All American, indoor and outdoor school record holder, and was inducted into Eastern Michigan's Hall Of Fame in 2012.
Nieto's professional career as a High Jumper has taken him to over 35 different countries around the world. Nieto has been ranked in the top ten in the nation by United States Track and Field since 1998.
After retiring in 2013 Nieto started coaching at UCLA and then University of Southern California, but decided to pursue his childhood love for movies, acting, producing, and writing. Nieto started vigorously working on his craft in 2007, by doing shorts films, student films, commercials, features and taking acting classes.
Nieto did his first feature film in 2009 and since has starred and has been featured in 5 others films to date. Nieto's first starring role in a feature film was "The Encounter" (on Netflix). Other film credits include: Kontrast, Jerusalem Countdown, Red Line, and Baseball's Last Hero; The Roberto Clemente Story where Nieto is playing the lead role of Roberto Clemente. Nieto has also guest starred on Family Time, and produced and award winning pilot called Blood Brothers and a web-series dedicated to interviewing Olympic athletes called "Holla Atacha Boy" that has over 100 shows.
Nieto's passion and drive for success is uncanny. Nieto stays busy with coaching, track camps, writing, producing, and acting.
