There have been shows in the past that are based on the ‘experiences’ of a real-life celebrity. The experiences are not necessarily real, but for an artist whose imagination is too strong for their own good, they might have an encounter in their head and it might appear real. Something similar seems to be happening in The Vince Staples Show, where real-life rapper Vince has some odd experiences as he tries to navigate his personal and professional life. It’s like Louie, but a little dull, and Vince doesn’t yet have those stories from his real life that can be sublimated to get weird half-hour episodes.
It’s evident from the very first episode that Vince will not ‘act’. That is for other performers to do. He will simply ‘be’. That is not necessarily a bad thing, but then the scenario has to be molded in such a way...

Good news and bad news, "The Sex Lives of College Girls" fans: the hit HBO Max series is returning for a third season! But, sadly, one of the fan favorites is leaving the show. On July 9, Variety reported that Reneé Rapp, who plays Leighton, is downsizing to a recurring role in season three before she'll ultimately depart. Rapp then confirmed the news shortly after, writing in a statement on social media, "College girls moved me out to L.A. and introduced me to some of my favorite people. Two and a half years later - it's given me y'all and this community."
She continued, "Thank u Mindy, Justin and everyone at Max for believing in me. A lot of queer work gets belittled - but playing Leighton has changed my life. I love who I am 10x more than I did before knowing her. I hope she gave y'all a little bit of that too.

The Sex Lives of College Girls is losing one of its core four. That's right, folks, we have some surprising casting news.
Reneé Rapp will depart the Max original comedy during its upcoming third season.
Deadline broke the news, but there's some good news.
The actress is set to return for a handful of episodes in what should bring her character's arc to a close.
It's unclear at this stage how many episodes the star will appear in, but it's nice knowing Leighton won't be disappearing between seasons.
The Sex Lives of College Girls was a breakout role for Rapp, serving as her first TV series.
Leighton connected with the show's fans, and viewers watched as she navigated coming out at Essex College while trying to live up to her parents' high expectations.
It's hard to tell how the show will write out Leighton, but at least we can take...

Donielle Nash is making a name for herself. Spoiler Alert: This post contains plot details from the Season 2 finale of HBO Max’s The Sex Lives of College Girls
Everything is in shambles. Or, at least that’s how it seems after the Season 2 finale of The Sex Lives of College Girls. As the school year at Essex College came to a close, the four women at the center of the story seemed to be finishing their first year on a high note — until they weren’t.
Leighton [Reneé Rapp] broke up with her girlfriend, dropped her sorority and jumped head first back into a relationship with her ex, Alicia [Midori Francis]. She is, perhaps, the only one who seems to be in a good place by the end of the season (though rushing back into things with Alicia is bound to cause strife at some point).

Charlie Hall knows he's not a fan favorite among "The Sex Lives of College Girls" fans - and he's totally fine with that. "I kind of love that he's unlikeable," the 25-year-old tells Popsugar of his character Andrew, aka Whitney's (Alyah Chanelle Scott) biochem lab partner and love interest in season two.
Hall joined the HBO Max hit series, which wrapped up its second season on Dec. 15, just a few years after graduating from Northwestern University and pursuing an acting career. Like his costar Mitchell Slaggert, the actor - whose parents are "Seinfeld" star Julia Louis-Dreyfus and "Saturday Night Live" alum Brad Hall - auditioned for a different role than the one he landed, but he admits he loved the challenge of playing his detested character.
"It's a fun little challenge to play someone that you're not rooting for in a way that is entertaining and also in a way that's funny.

Spoiler Alert: This interview contains spoilers from the Season 2 finale of “The Sex Lives of College Girls.”
The writers of “The Sex Lives of College Girls” are unashamed to call themselves “agents of chaos.” To be fair, it’s part of the job description: “I mean, we’re telling the stories of 18- and 19-year-old girls living together,” laughs showrunner Justin Noble, who co-created the series with Mindy Kaling. So it shouldn’t have come as a surprise when Season 2 ended rather sourly for its protagonists.
Bela (Amrit Kaur) cheats on Eric (Mekki Leeper) with a famous comedian (John Paul Reynolds), betrays her co-writers at the Foxy by approving a school newspaper spread that highlights her instead of the whole team, and tells a writer who asks for her feedback to quit comedy. Miserable and overwhelmed, and without telling her roommates, she decides to transfer out of Essex College.

Let's face it, watching "The Sex Lives of College Girls" kind of makes us want to redo our college experience all over again. The hit HBO Max series, which returned for season two on Nov. 17, follows the lives of four young women - Pauline Chalamet (Kimberly), Amrit Kaur (Bela), Reneé Rapp (Leighton), and Alyah Chanelle Scott (Whitney) - as they navigate love, life, and friendship during their freshman year at the prestigious Essex College.
On the show, the quirky foursome start out as just suitemates, but the actors - including Christopher Meyer, Ilia Isorelýs Paulino, and Lauren "Lolo" Spencer - seem like one big happy family in real life! And they're just as passionate about how their show is dismantling the age-old tropes about women and friendship. "Many women know that female friendships are like, the most important thing," Chalamet told Insider in a November 2021 interview. "There's a real intimacy that's created.

Spoiler Alert: This post contains plot details from the first two episodes of The Sex Lives of College Girls Season 2
After a year-long hiatus, The Sex Lives of College Girls has returned to HBO Max, but not that much time has passed for the students at Essex College. After the quick reprieve of fall break, Kimberly (Pauline Chalamet), Leighton (Reneé Rapp), Bela (Amrit Kaur) and Whitney (Alyah Chanelle Scott) are back on campus to finish their first semester with a newfound sense of assurance that only comes from spending a few months floundering.
“I think that there’s just such a confidence that comes with settling in at a new place. They’ve grown a little bit as a family and they’re ready to make some changes towards who they’re going to be as individuals,” series co-creator Justin Noble told Deadline. “There’s so much evolution that happens...

Whoever said that you need four years of college to truly find yourself hasn't spent enough time with "The Sex Lives of College Girls." The HBO Max series from Mindy Kaling and Justin Noble only needed 10 episodes to get comfortable with its identity and by its sophomore year, knows itself better than most college graduates. The return to Essex University may mark a new set of problems for suitemates Whitney (Alyah Chanelle Scott), Leighton (Renée Rapp), Bela (Amrit Kaur), and Kimberly (Pauline Chalamet) but no such turmoil is plaguing the series as a whole. Instead, it has settled neatly into its rhythms, embraced its characters, and found a nice balance between its subversive nature and lighthearted comedy.
Honestly, "Sex Lives" knew itself pretty well from the start: a fun romp about the sexual exploits of four college roommates. In typical coming-of-age fashion, the story was messy and drowning in cliches.

Apple TV+ revealed the official trailer today for Season 2 of “Slow Horses,” the Gary Oldman thriller series that follows a team of British intelligence agents. The second season premieres globally on the streaming service Dec. 2 with the first two episodes, followed by one new episode each week after that for the duration of the six-episode season.
And if there’s any confirmation of what fans can anticipate from Season 2, it’s that “more people are going to die,” according to a voice-over in the trailer from returning star Jack Lowden.
In the new season of “Slow Horses” (which is adapted from Mick Herron’s sequel novel “Dead Lion”), when exposure of previously-concealed Cold War secrets creates tension between Russia and Britain, the spies are again tasked with protecting society from inevitable catastrophe. Stars from Season 1 have returned for the production of the upcoming release, including Academy-Award winner Oldman as Jackson Lamb,...

"The Sex Lives of College Girls" is coming back for its second season, but things are going to look a little different. The first season of the show was filmed at Vassar College, but on June 17, a Vassar College spokesperson told the Poughkeepsie Journal that the show will not be returning to their campus to film the second season, though "they will let us know if anything changes in their needs." As of now, it's not clear where the second season will be filming.

Ilia Isorelýs Paulino has one simple request for The Sex Lives of College Girls season two. "I want to see Lila f*cking!" she told me during one of the most entertaining Zoom interviews I've done to date. On the Mindy Kaling- and Justin Noble-produced HBO Max show, Paulino became an instant fan favorite as Lila, a wisecracking Essex College student who works at Sips coffee shop alongside Kimberly (Pauline Chalamet) and Canaan (Christopher Meyer). Though she only has a handful of lines in season one, Lila always packs a comedic punch, doling out perfectly timed jokes and side-eye galore - and I can personally attest that Paulino herself is just as hysterical when the cameras stop rolling.

The Sex Lives of College Girls is accomplishing what we rarely get to see on television: young college women living authentically. For years, storylines about the college experience have often felt one-dimensional and hollow. Honestly, we can probably count on one hand the shows that truly capture women in their 20s in a real way.
I'm sure I wasn't the only one who raised an eyebrow at the show's title, which dares to depict the sex lives of college girls. But I was pleasantly surprised that the show explores so much more than sex. The hit HBO Max series also touches on race, discrimination, classism, identity, male privilege, family, friendship, and the importance of community. The show doesn't leave out some of college students' everyday problems - like stressing over deadlines and their social lives. The writers' room makes sure women always come first in every sense of the word,...
