The 127 Hours actress who was last seen in Django Unchained, will, according to Deadline, play Stacey who's a close friend of Silvia (Ferrera) and Mark (Williams) and partner to Tessa (Sue Jean Kim), who struggles with her own demons after her mother’s death. Ferrera and Williams are producing X/Y with Kwesi Collisson, Thomas B. Fore and Jason Michael Berman while Mark G. Mathis, Margo Johnston, Dori A. Sperko, Paull Cho, Todd Feuer, Mike Feuer, Jason Silverman, Caroline Kaplan and Kim Gillingham serve as executive producers.

Well, it looks as though Vera Farmiga is set to head back to the world of independent film for yet another anticipated project.
The thespian has, according to Variety, joined the cast of the upcoming western, A Thousand Guns. A film directed by Daniel Calparsoso, and produced by duo Paull Cho and Heather Rae (who recently produced the film Frozen River, which earned Melissa Leo a much deserved Oscar nomination).

L.A.-based merchant bank Crescent Financial Partners has acquired an unspecified minority stake in startup indie film producer Prominent Pictures for $10 million.
The minimum capital commitment will help fund a slate of feature films budgeted at $2 million to $10 million apiece. Prominent principals include film producers Paull Cho ("Closer to Crazy") and Heather Rae ("Frozen River").
"Heather Rae and Paull are working on a very exciting slate of films that we believe could potentially rival the quality and success of 'Frozen River,' " Crescent managing director Russell Armstrong said.
"Our focus is on smart financing models for independent films by forging key strategic alliances with distributors, studios and agencies that address the best means of commercial success for each individual project," Cho said.
