TNT Sports went live on Tuesday across the U.K. and Ireland, replacing BT Sport.
The rebrand was revealed earlier this year as part of the Warner Bros. Discovery joint venture. TNT Sports is already used as Wbd’s sports brand in Latin America and the U.S.
TNT Sports will present the premium live sports rights previously carried by BT Sport including the Premier League, UEFA Champions League, UEFA Europa League, UEFA Europa Conference League, Gallagher Premiership Rugby, Heineken Champions Cup, Epcr Challenge Cup, MotoGP, cricket, UFC, Boxing and WWE. In addition, the Olympic Games Paris 2024, grand slam tennis tournaments, including the Australian Open and Roland-Garros and cycling grand tours, including the Tour de France, will be available.
Discovery+ is the U.K. home for TNT Sports. It will be available under a premium plan, priced at £29.99 ($39.25) per month, which is the same price as was previously charged for a BT sport monthly Pass.

Aston Villa have made a £1 million bid for West Brom defender Joleon Lescott, according to the Daily Mail.
The Birmingham club could be left needing some defensive reinforcements following the departure of Ron Vlaar and recent interest in Nathan Baker from relegated Burnley.
With injury problems ruling Jores Okore out until September Sherwood may feel further options are needed ahead of Villa’s first game of the season.
Lescott has been targeted before by Villa but they were unwilling to meet the ex-Man City defender’s wage demands in the Paul Lambert era.
Prior to a bid for Lescott, Villa ironically turned down a bid from the Baggies for Ireland international defender Ciaran Clark.
In some ways a transfer would make sense for Lescott as the ex-England international is a boyhood Villa fan and joining Villa would give Lescott the chance to link up with former Man City team-mate Micah Richards.

Manchester City have spent hundreds of millions of pounds on transfers since Sheikh Mansour and his Abu Dhabi United Group’s multi-million pound takeover of the club in 2008, with over £1 billion being spent within the first three years of ownership alone, according to reports.
Money has been no object where the middle east private equity company are concerned and they wasted no time in making their financial muscle known with the 2009 summer transfer window ending with City as the biggest spenders in the Premier League, bringing in the likes of Gareth Barry, Carlos Tevez, Roque Santa Cruz, Emmanuel Adebayor, Kolo Toure, and Joleon Lescott.
The club’s transfer policy of ‘spend, spend, spend’ whatever the cost has reaped its rewards, with the Citizens winning two Premier League titles in the six years since the takeover – in 2012 and 2014. Some of the world’s greatest...

Can Manchester City overcome a two goal deficit when they face Barcelona in the second leg of their Champions League last 16 encounter at the Nou Camp on Wednesday evening?
Team News
Barcelona manager Gerardo Martino has virtually a fully-fit squad to select from as his side prepare to welcome Manchester City to the Nou Camp.
Reserve goalkeeper Jose Manuel Pinto returns from a back injury but Jonathan dos Santos and Isaac Cuenca are sidelined.
Manchester City will be without Martin Demichelis following his red card in the first leg while centre-back colleague Matija Nastasic is out with a knee injury, meaning Joleon Lescott should start.
Sergio Aguero is fit again after missing out a fortnight ago due to a hamstring injury, but strike partner Stevan Jovetic is absent with a hamstring problem of his own.

West Ham United are aiming to complete a sensational deal for Manchester City and England defender Joleon Lescott.
Earlier in the window the two clubs reached an agreement on the players services, according to the Telegraph, but the wages could provide a stumbling block.
Assistant manager Neil McDonald spoke earlier this week, taking the place of Hammers boss Sam Allardyce who was busy with transfer business, and remained coy on a potential deal for Lescott.
However, the news has heated up today and West Ham are hopeful of completing the deal before the window slams shut later this evening at 11pm.
The sticking point now, according to Sky Sports News is wages, but talks remain ongoing.
One deal that has been completed, according to Sky Sports News is the loan deal for Pablo Armero from Napoli. The Italian club have confirmed that the ful-back has signed for the Londoners,...

Manchester City are set to swoop for Porto pair Eliaquim Mangala and Fernando before tonight’s transfer deadline, according to the BBC.
City manager Manuel Pellegrini was cagey about potential new arrivals at the club following his side’s 5-1 win over Tottenham on Wednesday night.
However, both players may join the Premier League leaders today.
France defender Mangala is rated at £35 million and plays at centre-half, an area where the Citizens have been weak at various times this season due to injury to Vincent Kompany.
Fernando meanwhile would add to City’s already-large pool of midfielders.
Mangala has also been tracked by derby rivals Manchester United as well as French champions Paris Saint-Germain.
If the 22-year-old moves to Etihad Stadium, it increases the possibility of Joleon Lescott leaving the club on loan. The centre-half is a target for West Ham United.

Aston Villa are eyeing up a loan move for Manchester City’s out-of-favour defender Joleon Lescott, according to the Mirror.
Lescott’s contract at the Etihad is up in the summer and the centre-back has been told by City he can leave this month.
The 31-year-old grew up in Birmingham and is a big Aston Villa fan, though played for West Midlands rivals Wolves after graduating from their youth academy.
Lescott went on to have a spell at Everton before joining City in 2009 in controversial circumstances after forcing his exit from Goodison Park and completing a £22 million move.
The centre-half has made more than 140 appearances for the Citizens in a four-and-a-half season spell, but has since fallen way down the pecking order under Manuel Pellegrini.
The ex-Toffees star has not played a Premier League game in the New Year and has fallen behind the likes of Vincent Kompany and Martín Demichelis.

Premier League strugglers West Ham United have agreed a deal to sign Manchester City misfit Joleon Lescott and bolster their beleaguered defence.
England international Lescott, 31, is no longer first choice at the Etihad under Manuel Pellegrini since the signings of Matija Nastasic and Martin Demichelis.

The East London outfit landed Wolves reject Roger Johnson on loan this week, but were turned down by wantaway Everton centre back Johnny Heitinga.

Premier League title favourites Manchester City are prepared to underline their credentials by launching a £30 million January move for Southampton left back Luke Shaw.
Despite being just 18 years of age, Shaw is already regarded as England’s long-term successor to Ashley Cole following a series of outstanding top flight displays for the Saints.
According to The Mail on Sunday, City would break the world record fee for a fullback of £29.5 million – set in 2008 when Barcelona bought Brazil’s Dani Alves from Sevilla – to land Shaw.
Manuel Pellegrini wants to storm a march on other suitors Chelsea and Manchester United by offering the money up front for Shaw in the winter window. Southampton have indicated that one of their prized assets is happy to stay at St Mary’s until the summer, but may consider such a massive offer.

With a star-studded squad at his disposal, Manchester City boss Manuel Pellegrini has had little to complain about since taking over at the Etihad helm last summer. City are arguably as strong as any Premier League club in every position on the pitch, with an abundance of world-class footballers ploughing their trade in the blue half of Manchester.
With a squad as powerful as City’s, Pellegrini has a tough job to keep everyone content, with at least 2 players competing for each starting position. But not every player in City’s vast squad is absolutely essential to the Chilean’s trophy charge, with the club having several ‘fringe’ players (who perform little or no function in the first team) on their books.
Here’s a look at 5 of them who Pellegrini should consider letting go…

West Ham United’s chairmen David Gold and David Sullivan have released an open letter in support of their beleaguered manager Sam Allardyce in the wake of the club’s embarrassing 0-5 reverse to Championship outfit Nottingham Forest in the Fa Cup.
“We know Sam has not lost his ambition or desire and is committed to making West Ham United a great Premier League club”
The letter went on to state:
“It is never enjoyable being knocked out of a cup competition and losing by such a large scoreline to a lower division side is hard to take for us all. We thought the youngsters gave their all and did not stop trying, but in the end Nottingham Forest’s experience proved too much for us. Championship team Blackburn Rovers caused the first shock of Fa Cup third round weekend when they held 2011 winners Manchester City at Ewood Park. Skipper Scott Dann earned a replay for Gary Bowyer’s side by cancelling out an Alvaro Negeredo goal.
Both strikes came from corners and now Manuel Pellegrini has yet another midweek game to plan for in January on top of two Capital One Cup semi-final legs with West Ham. City had Belgian defender Dedryck Boyata sent off at Blackburn for two bookings.
Rovers boss Bowyer handed ex-England goalie Paul Robinson his first start since December 2012 after a troublesome back problem and career-threatening blood clot on his lung. Top scorer Jordan Rhodes dropped to the bench prompting fears from home fans he would be sold.
D. J. Campbell also made way as Blackburn made three changes from their away win over Leeds.

Championship club Blackburn will have to meet their Northwest rivals again at the Etihad in ten days’ time thanks to a goal from their captain. Dedryck Boyata saw red for City late on.
This was something of a slow burner, but Gary Bowyer’s Rovers contained the illustrious City names by flooding midfield. A couple of Dann headers from set pieces that went straight at Costel Pantilimon were all the hosts could muster in the opening half hour.

Blackburn Rovers have never beaten Northwest rivals Manchester City since the Etihad outfit was taken over by the Abu Dhabi United Group in 2008. These two sides, both former Premier League champions, will face one another in the opening game of Fa Cup third round weekend.
Bankrolled by Arab billions, City boast a recent record of six wins and three draws against Rovers. Prior to that, Blackburn managed five successive victories in this fixture – including their last meeting in the world’s oldest knockout football competition.
Mark Hughes masterminded that Fa Cup quarter-final win at Ewood Park in March 2007 with Aaron Mokoena netting the opener before being sent off. Matt Derbyshire later sealed victory for Rovers. Hughes later went on to manage City.
South African striker Benni McCarthy scored the only goal the following September when Blackburn last won this encounter.

Manchester City recovered from 2-0 down at the Allianz Arena to inflict a rare defeat on Champions League holders Bayern Munich, but still finished behind them in Group D.
James Milner netted the winner after David Silva and Aleksandar Kolarov’s penalty cancelled out Thomas Muller and Mario Gotze strikes.
City made a terrible start conceding on five minutes. Defender Dante picked out Muller with a lovely long ball which the German chested down as he ran infield and away from Kolarov. Joe Hart was swiftly beaten by a low strike across him.
Bayern continued to build on their lead with Brazil’s Dante nodding a Toni Kroos free kick straight at England and City stopper Hart. Ballon d’Or nominee Franck Ribery won a corner with Joleon Lescott putting in a very shaky display in defence.
From that set piece hosts Munich doubled their lead through Gotze 12 minutes in.

A freak Tim Howard own goal helped Manchester City put their Champions League misery behind them and put paid to Everton’s unbeaten run in a frenetic game at the Etihad.
The Toffees had beaten City nine times in twelve meetings before today’s fixture but despite leading through Romelu Lukaku, they came unstuck courtesy of Alvaro Negredo and Sergio Aguero before Howard’s misfortune.
The first meaningful chance went City’s way after only five minutes as Yaya Toure attempted a measured finish from the top of the box, forcing Howard into a low palm save.
Barely a minute later the hosts went close again after Sylvain Distin brought down Aguero just outside the box –Aleksandar Kolarov’s resulting free-kick swerved violently into Howard’s side-netting.
The visitors drew first blood through on-loan striker Lukaku on 16 minutes – latching onto Phil Jagielka’s hoof up-field, the Belgian sprang the offside trap,...

Along with the win against United, City also enjoyed a...

Manchester City are closing in on Atletico Madrid’s £3.5 million-rated centre-back Martin Demichelis, according to the Daily Mail.
The 32-year-old played under City manager Manuel Pellegrini at Malaga and only arrived at Atletico earlier this summer.
Pellegrini is keen to strengthen his central defensive options however after injuries to Vincent Kompany and Mateja Nastasic forced him into playing midfielder Javi Garcia as a centre-half in the 3-2 defeat to Cardiff City last weekend.
That defeat, along with the 3-1 loss to Arsenal in pre-season, has made the Chilean realise he needs defensive reinforcements.
Demichelis signed for Atletico on a free transfer and would be expected to compete with Kompany and Nastasic at the Etihad after their understudies, Garcia and Joleon Lescott, proved to be below-par.
After starting the season brightly with a resounding 4-0 battering of Newcastle United, City stuttered to an embarrassing 3-2 defeat to Premier League new-boys Cardiff City.

So far this season, the Citizens and manager Manuel Pellegrini, have had a mixed start to the new campaign.
Firstly, they ruthlessly destroyed Newcastle at the Etihad last Monday. The 4-0 scoreline signalled their intent on reclaiming the title from neighbours United.
It seemed as if the signings made in the striking department had an effect on their frontmen as of last season Sergio Aguero and Edin Dzeko. It may have acted as a motivation for them to keep working harder in order to consign Stevan Jovetic and Alvaro Negredo, both signed for hefty price tags, to starting from the bench and not making their impact from the outset.
It certainly worked as Dzeko masterminded two assists along with Aguero who grabbed their second midway through the first half.
The only bad news coming out of that game was the injury to their perennial leader and centre back Vincent Kompany.

Manuel Pellegrini deployed Javi Garcia at centre back for the majority of Manchester City’s pre-season, and it’s safe to say the Spaniard was rather underwhelming in his new found defensive role. Despite the early warnings, Pellegrini opted to play Garcia along side Joleon Lescott away at Cardiff on Sunday, despite having a bright, up and coming centre back in Dedryck Boyata available.
Having watch the majority of City’s pre-season fixtures, I feared the worst for the Blues when I saw the Lescott and Garcia pairing in the starting line up. Ever since Garcia signed for City from Benfica, he has struggled to adapt to life in the Premier League in his preferred central midfield position. So placing him at centre-back, somewhere he has very rarely played in the past, in a league where he has struggled to adapt in the first place was tactical suicide from Manuel Pellegrini.

Manchester City today revealed on its official website that Matija Nastasic is likely miss the start of the Premier League season with an ankle injury.
The 20-year-old centre back was stretchered off against Sunderland during the Barclays Asia Trophy final in Hong Kong last month.
Mri scans later revealed that the Serbian could be out for four to six weeks, leaving City boss Manuel Pellegrini with limited defensive options ahead of his first league fixture in charge against Newcastle United on August 6.
The Blues’ 2011/2012 title-winning partnership of Joleon Lescott and Vincent Kompany could be restored, or Belgian defender Dedryck Boyata is also available for selection.
£20 million-rated Real Madrid defender Pepe has been heavily linked with a move to the Etihad this summer, although Pellegrini insists that another foray into the transfer market is not necessary in the absence of the Serbia international.

Manchester City are looking to reinforce their defence with a £20 million move for Real Madrid’s Pepe, according to the Daily Mirror.
New Citizens manager Pellegrini reportedly believes the Portuguese international would be the perfect partner for club captain Vincent Kompany at the heart of last season’s Fa Cup and Premier League runners-up. With Joleon Lescott looking set to leave the club as he is unhappy with his current lack of games, his exit would leave City light on centre backs with Nastastic their only other recognised player in this position.
City’s hopeful move for Pepe won’t come cheap though, with Real Madrid announcing earlier in the summer that Pepe is not for sale. However Manchester City are prepared to bid around £20 million for the strong defender and increase his already huge wage.
Pepe has never been far away from controversy during his time in Madrid, infamously...
